The Liberal Redneck explains the appeal of Donald Trump as perhaps only he can.

Okay I thought this guy was pretty entertaining before, but I now I think he might be some kind of genius.

    She GOT HIM!

Trump: 'I Don't Have Thin Skin!' (VIDEO)

In an attempt to respond to Hillary Clinton's "thin skin" jab at him during her foreign policy speech earlier in the week, Donald Trump is now defending his ability to take criticism.

In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper on Friday, Trump was asked to share his thoughts about Clinton's speech beginning with the "thin-skinned" remark.

"Well, I don't have thin skin," Trump protested. "I have very strong and thick skin. If you do a report and it's not necessarily positive but, you're right, I never complain. I do complain when it's a lie or when it's wrong."

Trump then went on to explain how his thick skin and "good temperament" made him have "one of the best-selling books of all-time" and a successful television show.

"What does that have to do with temperament?" Tapper asked.

"You can't have that success without good temperament," Trump said. "And I will say that, I was thinking about the word temperament. We need a strong temperament in this country. We have been led by weak and ineffective people."

"I don't have thin skin. I have thick skin. My skin is terrific, it's tremendous. I have the best skin on the planet. No one has skin as great as mine. Just the skin that covers my ass is YUUUUGE!"

Next he'll be harping on Hillary's wrinkly dry skin.

"She doesn't have great skin. When it comes to skin, she's clueless. "

      NEVER complain? Really?

Since when is anyone who criticizes him right? He always whines and bitches about every tiny thing. That is the very definition of thin skinned.

Notice how he then leads it to temperament, then success, then product placement: his book. "The best selling book of all time." Really? Not the best selling book of all time. Not even the best selling non-fiction book of all time. Not even the best selling business book of all time.

But don't try and tell Trump. He'll say it's all lies and that he has the thickest, most luxurious, beautiful skin in the world.

Richard North Patterson has identified the toxicity that is Donald Trump and why he is so dangerous.

We all know what it is. It's narcissistic personality disorder, the same thing Sarah has. Only Trump has it worse. In addition he has the same charismatic appeal as Hitler. The ability to motivate large groups to hate, racism, bigotry and in general ignoring facts and joining in stupidity.

He also lays blame on the GOP and the media for Trumps rise and with good reason.

    www.huffingtonpost.com/richard-north-patterson/too-sick-to-lead-the-leth_b_10086768.html

"The Mayo Clinic describes it as “a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration and a lack of empathy for others.” This is bad enough in selecting a spouse or a friend. But when applied to a prospective president, the symptoms are disqualifying.

With Trump ever in mind, try these. An exaggerated sense of self-importance. An unwarranted belief in your own superiority. A preoccupation with fantasies of your own success, power and brilliance. A craving for constant admiration. A consuming sense of entitlement. An expectation of special favors and unquestioning compliance.

A penchant for exploiting or disparaging others. A total inability to recognize the needs of anyone else. An incapacity to see those you meet as separate human beings. An unreasoning fury at people you perceive as thwarting your wishes or desires. A tendency to act on impulse. A superficial charm deployed to disguise a gift for manipulation.

A need to always be right. A refusal to acknowledge error. An inability to tolerate criticism or critics. A compulsion to conform your ever - shifting sense of “reality” to satisfy your inner requirements . A tendency to lie so frequently and routinely that objective truth loses all meaning.

A belief that you are above the rules. An array of inconsistent statements and behaviors driven by your needs in the moment. An inability to assess the consequences of your actions in new or complex situations. In sum, a total incapacity to separate the world from your own psychodrama.

    Recognize anyone?"

"Opposition of any kind enrages him. He incites reprisals against protesters. He threatened violence in Cleveland as payback for the GOP’s “unfairness.” He fuels anger against Hispanics, Muslims, and other minorities whom he perceives as inimical. And never - not once - does he take any responsibility for stirring these toxic pots. For one of the symptoms of his disability is an absence of conscience or accountability."

"Consistent with his character disorder, Trump proudly insists that his chief advisor is himself. Even were he so inclined, in order to learn from others he must know enough to discern good advice from bad. But such is his pathology that he feels no need to learn much of anything from anyone. And so, from the beginning, he has plunged us down the bottomless rabbit hole of his intellectual emptiness."

"by pretending that Trump is fit to be president, the Republican Party has become the political and moral equivalent of a criminally callous auto manufacturer, willing to sell cars with defective airbags and exploding gas tanks.

But, with honorable exceptions, the broadcast media has been even more shameful and complicit. Worst of all is cable news -in pursuit of revenue and ratings, they have given Trump $3 billion in free advertising, feeding his candidacy - and his ego - by spreading the mythology of his imperviousness and power.

Wallowing in self interest, they have shrunk from saying what must be said: that Trump is unfit for higher office.

"The Republican Party is beyond redemption. The media have five months left."

The entire article is quite long but is certainly worth a read. Even though Gryphen hates the Huffington Post.

I think hate is too strong a word. He my disagree with their policy of not paying contributors and their focus on certain issues (at one time they seemed to promote the Palins). Maybe he will chime in here and set us straight.

Trump is a very sick man. That there are people who still buy into what he says it very alarming .... and dangerous in more ways than one.

I do believe that Trump has done irreparable damage to his "brand" and from that he will never recover. The people who adore him can't afford his sh*t and the people who can are just not going to any more. There are plenty of first class golf courses, hotels, resorts, wine and whatever else CheetoMan has put his name to. Who wants to watch that guy on TV in another reality show when we all know now exactly what kind of a horrible person he really is. Donald - YOU'RE FIRED.

I read a lot of different news sources. But sometimes Huffington Post is the first or only one.

As for his "brand", I can only hope that Trump goes the way of Mel Gibson, who ruined his career with his drunken antisemitic rants. I can only hope that Trump has ruined his brand with his racism, bigostry, misogyny and general bullying and vitriolic rants.

Friday Fox Follies believes we are witnessing in real time the slow motion destruction of Tee Vee Journalism™ as MSNBC Now Openly Bragging About Abandoning its Liberal Brand In New Ad. Maybe it was because Fox News Sets Another Record And Personal Milestone, that MSNBC decided to make a right turn. Clearly mendacious manure sells. However, according to Veteran Journalists: Trump Coverage “Devastating” For News Credibility, something that MSNBC should keep in mind.

Veteran Journalists: Trump Coverage “Devastating” For News Credibility

“The news media adopting him as an asset and as a crowd pleaser and as a magnet for audience hits. It confers stature on him and wins him supporters with the coverage he is getting, credibility and a seriousness about him as a candidate when there is nothing in his record that satisfies that.”

He added, “This is going to go down as one of the historic [press] failures, on a par with the run up to the Iraq War. The press has not bothered with him as a serious candidate.”

Watched Trump on CBS tonight. His puffy eyes were white around the edges and he's laid off the orange color and getting some of his skin color back a bit. Freckled. He sure isn't pleasant to look at. If he were a poor guy, Malania or whatever her name is would not have given him a glance. If he were not a billionare (or so he sez) then he would be a raving maniac on the street. Like that fb poster making jokes about Fifty Shades of Grey where it says if the sadist guy in the movie wasn't rich he'd be in Criminal minds.

I don't blame the media for giving Trump airtime. We need to know what he is about, and he needs to be exposed. The problem I see is when the media does not question him, or anyone, who does not speak the truth.

The Liberal Redneck hit the nail on the head: it's not facts that Trumsters care about, it's only how they FEEL. Sort of like religion I guess. If your pastor says heaven exists and if you're good, you'll go there after you die, that makes the believer FEEL good. If Trump says he's going to bring all those jobs back, that makes his supporters FEEL good.
And just like religion, you could ask them all the questions in the world, and you could throw facts at them until they're blue in the fact, they'll ignore you because they don't want to FEEL bad.
Yes, Trump is following Hitler's example to a T, so if by some slim chance Trump is actually elected President, all you really need to do is read up on German history from about 1919 onwards and you'll see history repeating itself.
