Bernie Sanders gets booed by some House Democrats during tense early morning meeting. Gee, I guess I'm not the only one tired of Sanders' shit.

Courtesy of Politico:

With the Democratic convention just weeks away, Sanders still hasn't endorsed one-time rival Hillary Clinton and dodged questions about when he would during a tense meeting Wednesday morning with House Democrats.

Sanders also stunned some of the Democrats in attendance when he told them that winning elections wasn't the only thing they should focus on. While they wanted to hear about how to beat Donald Trump — and how Sanders might help them win the House back — he was talking about remaking the country.

"The goal isn't to win elections, the goal is to transform America," Sanders said at one point, according to multiple lawmakers and aides in the room.

Some Democrats booed Sanders for that line, which plays better on the campaign trail than in front of a roomful of elected officials.

Rank-and-file House Democrats want Sanders to officially drop out of the race and throw his support behind the presumptive nominee, and they can't understand why he hasn't so far.

"It was frustrating because he's squandering the movement he built with a self-obsession that was totally on display," said a senior Democrat, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

It probably will not soften the Democrats' opinions of Sanders once they learn that his campaign is seeking a permit for the night before the convention in order to hold a rally:

The permit application for the event — which would involve an estimated 15,000 to 40,000 people in Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park — is one of ten applications filed with the Philadelphia mayor's office for pro-Sanders protests, marches and demonstrations during the convention.

Several events have already secured approval, including multiple "March for Bernie" events throughout the week organized by activist Billy Taylor and a "Black Men for Bernie" rally on July 27-28, according to a list provided by the mayor's office.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

Sanders would have received virtually no national coverage if the Democrats had not welcomed him to run under their banner and this is how the rewards them.

Maybe that's why he is so resistant to giving up his taxpayer funded Secret Services detail, he is worried about getting worked over by angry Democrats.

Gary Johnson has always been a libertarian minded republican 6:33, and his 2 very successful terms as governor were very libertarianesque. So it is not really that big of a skip. Although I think he has stayed as a libertarian since around 2012, so it is more than a few weeks.

Frankly, libertarian is much closer to what the republican party should be, than what they are.

7:55, 7:21 has been asked more than once to explain why she loved Bernie but now fully supports tax cuts for the wealthy, no environmental standards, no minimum wage hike, no gun control and no student loans (that doesn't mean Johnson wants tuition to be free; he doesn't -- he just thinks if you can't pay cash for college, you shouldn't go). 7:21 has been asked why she now enthusiastically supports a host of Johnson policies that will increase income inequality, worsen climate change and compromise the rights of racial and religious minorities.

7:21 has no answer other than "you guys hurt my feelings." 7:21 doesn't do policy, only emotion. 7:21 is not the brightest star in the firmament.

Alaskan for Johnson here. I like that he is taming some of the more outlandish aspects of the Libertarian platform in order to bring more moderates to the party.

Doesn't matter who I vote for though, our state always goes red and the 3 electorals are state-mandated to follow suit, so AK will go for Trump.

Only one year since we achieved statehood has our popular vote, and thus our electorals gone blue.

There are Bernie supporters at both ends of the age spectrum and probably some in the middle. The younger ones simply don't know better and are bewitched by the promises of "free" this and that. The older ones did a few too many drugs in the '60s and '70s and miss the good old days. We know a couple of them - nice people but not always very connected to the real world.

Unhinged Trump Attacks Disney’s ‘Frozen’ To Defend His Anti-Semitic Tweet

In a tweet posted Wednesday night, a perpetually unhinged Donald Trump again tried defending his controversial ‘Star of David’ Twitter attack on Hillary Clinton. This time, though, Trump is using Disney’s ‘Frozen’ to help make his case.

      Trump’s tweet:

Just remember four more weeks and all this will be over. I wonder if Jane and Bernie will be relieved that they won't have to show their tax returns in the middle of August because he will no longer be relevant? FBI Director James Comey spent most of his news conference Tuesday sharply criticizing Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state, but he also said the FBI was advising the Justice Department not to press charges. The podcast crew breaks down how the announcement, after more than a year of controversy, might affect the election.

Then the team takes on Donald Trump’s latest Twitter fiasco — his apparent use of the Star of David in accusing Hillary Clinton of being corrupt — and what that says about the online networks he’s tapped into. This isn’t the first time Trump’s Twitter feed has included racist content.

Plus, Nate Silver answers questions from listeners about the general election forecast model.

Trump Does Clinton a Huge Favor, Praises Saddam Hussein

It's time to reconsider the possibility that Donald Trump is a secret Hillary Clinton supporter, as opposed to merely a man whose campaign is a garbage fire. While we learned on Tuesday that Clinton will not be indicted over her use of a private email server, Republicans managed to salvage the day by focusing on FBI director James Comey rebuking Clinton for her "extremely careless" behavior, and calling for even more hearings on the matter.

Then Trump had to ruin this perfectly good 'Hillary-bashing' session by praising a notorious dictator. "Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right? He was a bad guy, a really bad guy," Trump said at a rally in North Carolina. "But you know what he did well? He killed terrorists. They didn't read them the rights. They didn't talk, they were a terrorist? It was over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism."

Now suddenly Saddam Hussein was trending on Twitter, and replacing headlines about Clinton's email 'scandal'. Republican commentators were not amused:

I would ask you what exactly do you think you are going get form these rallies? gatherings? Unfortunately by this time you'll have to make do with Ego stroking and slapping each other's backs. Clinton will accept as much as she can from Bernie, but she will be the Nominee! Would Bernie be so gracious?? So, and think about this; would you then cut off you nose, vote for Trump, or pull up you pants and vote for our country knowing that she and Bernie could still work together, not ideal but better than nothing to keep the movement alive. But go ahead and vote for Trump or not vote at all. This is a fight for America and you'll reap what you sow. Think about it.

Meanwhile in the real news that should be reported, both Corker and Joni Ernst say they will not entertain running along side Trump as his VP.

    www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bob-corker-donald-trump-vice_us_577bf009e4b0a629c1aae5bc?section=

And Marco Rubio will not even attend the convention.

"But now that Rubio is running for re-election in the Senate, he’ll be too busy with campaigning to attend, said spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas.

“Florida has always been a competitive state and it will be this fall. Marco had planned to go to the convention before he decided to seek re-election. Since Marco got into the race late, he will be in Florida campaigning and meeting with voters instead of going to Ohio,” Perez-Cubas told the Tampa Bay Times. "

    www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/marco-rubio-republican-convention_us_577d8270e4b0344d514ddf01?section=

So Rubio is also running for re-election.

Meanwhile, it's not so much how many are on Trump's list, it's who will agree to run if he asks.

    www.politico.com/story/2016/07/trump-vice-president-generals-225177

I'm sure he's got a lot of names on this list. Unfortunately most will tell him no one way or another.

I think when the dust settles he'll have Sarah Palin and *maybe* Newt Gingrich. My gut tells me even Scotty Walker isn't stupid enough to be Trump's running mate.
