Happy Independence Day Bitchez!!!

As many of you know we Alaskans celebrated our independence day yesterday.

But for those of you who had to wait an extra day, Happy Fourth of July and remember what my father always said:

"Godammit Ass-eyes throw the firecracker before it blows off one of your stupid fingers. Jesus are you sure you're my kid?"

Miss ya Dad!

What is an "Ass-eye"? I have never heard of such a thing.

    1. Anonymous4:55 AM

Yes, what is it? I've heard the term ass-breath but not ass-eye.

    2. Anonymous5:07 AM

      @Anonymous 2:01 AM
      @Anonymous 4:55

Ass-lips sounds interesting....I've never heard of it, but it sounds interesting. ...LOL

    3. fromthediagonal5:32 AM

HA! Got another one for you: In German we have an "Arsch mit Ohren", which translates to Ass-with-Ears, as in " Yeeccch, that dinner tastes like..." in other words, Nasty! Meanwqhile, best wishes for a happy In(ter)dependence Day!

    4. >""Godammit Ass-eyes throw the firecracker before it blows off one of your stupid fingers.<
"Hey, this was your idea, I don't even give a shit about firecrackers. If you're the expert, why am I doing it?"

      >...Jesus are you sure you're my kid?"<

"I don't know! I wasn't even there. Why don't ya launch an investigation?!"

I was on a relaxed leash in a family with some gifted sarcastics, and on-point sassback proved I was paying attention. Thanks, Mom :)

Happy Fourth of July to ALL who post here! And I do mean ALL. Yes, even the trolls who keep trying to convince us the validity of their arguments despite knowing full well there is no possibility that ever happening. I do wish they weren't so damned insulting or aggravating, though. Maybe some day they will learn that manners never hurt anyone.

Hell, I'll even wish Humpty Trumpty a Happy Fourth! I sincerely wish he would dry up and blow away, but even he is a citizen. A disgusting one one, but still....

    1. Anonymous5:10 AM

      @Leland 2:30 AM

Forget the trolls. I don't wish them happy anything.

    2. Anonymous7:05 AM

Happy Fourth to you and yours, Leland. I agree that civility goes a long way and we need more of it!

    3. 66gardeners8:27 AM

Facts matter. That is why the trolls can not sway us Leland.

    4. Leland9:01 AM

66, I wasn't trying to say anything about trolls swaying us. I wasn't headed in that direction. I was merely saying even they deserve my happy wishes on this day!

Hell, if I can wish Humpty Trumpty a happy Fourth I can do so for ANYBODY.

And I don't really care whether they accept it or not - or believe me or not.

As for 5:10? That is your right. Comes with the Fourth.

    5. Anonymous10:36 AM

Happy past 3rd of July for the day Alaska gained independence from Smelly old Sarah. Happy 4th to all!

  3. Anonymous4:13 AM

Yeah but Parnell is 5000 times worse. At least Sarah sides with democrats out of necessity. She knows your republicans are worthless.

    1. 66gardeners8:27 AM

You've got to admit, $arah$aysPayme has done and is doing her part in destroying the GOP. Good times!

  4. Anonymous4:20 AM

Here ya go, Jesse. In honor of your dad, I suggest you watch this - download it before it disappears. Then sit back and enjoy it with your dad's favorite cold brew brand - Hamm's, Schlitz or whatever colored water passed for beer in the 60's. (Jean Shepher's Great 4th of July.

  5. Anonymous7:38 AM

Awh, you gave me the feels! My dad used to say, "Ten-thousand sperm and you were the fastest?" Another gem: "I was hoping you had out-grown the stupid."

  6. Anonymous8:14 AM

Bristol's idea of patriotism, posted on her instagram. "If you don't love America, then get the hell out." Where are they supposed to go?

Here is Dakota's view of history.
dakotameyer0317Whether you say "Happy 4th of July" or "Happy Independence Day" celebrate the day that this nation declared it's independence from a tyrannical ruler. May we never trade our freedoms for the pseudo protection such a ruler provides.

Sarah posted a photo of army boots with a present day American flag, "Home of the free because of the brave." That makes it sound as if the 4th of July celebrates today's military keeping us free, which is a subject for debate.

I choose to remember radical philosophers who embraced the new concept of people determining their own government. There was also a strong economic motive because some of the colonists were making lots of money that England wanted to tax. Peole always came here for economic opportunity as well as religious liberty.

Remember that taxation without representation? The colonies did not have a voice in parliament while the English owners of sugar plantations in the Caribbean did have seats in parliament. Not everyone was for the revolution, maybe a third for, a third against and a third didn't know or didn't care. In those days, Bristol would get her wish. Some of the people who loved the monarchy and English rule moved to Canada. For its time, it was a radical thing to do, the product of intelligent, progressive, radical thinkers.

    Happy Fourth of July!

  7. 66gardeners8:23 AM

    Happy 4th of July everyone.

My hubby and I are vacationing in our motorohome, pulling a trailer with his Haryley, in New England.

Today we have just arrived in Booth Bay, Maine. I expect the scenery here is a lot like it would be in Alaska which I have never traveled to. Our last stop was Thomas Point Beach Campground near Brunswick, Maine. They have a long history of hosting Blue Grass Festivals. Check it out. Part owner, Patty Crooker, passed away 3 weeks ago so the concerts are on hold for the foreseeable future although they will be hosting a memorial concert for Patty on Labor Day. Beautiful place!

Just as happened last year when we went out West, not one campground has offered MSNBC in their cable package so I am a little behind in my political game. Will be checking in at IM when WIFI is offered so that I can keep abreast of what is important.

I never fail to sing the praises of voting for Hillary as the first woman POTUS. I'm getting a log of good feedback from campers I have met along the way. Nobody with all their teeth want to vote for Trump. Even though Maine has a republican governor and many local pols, they invariably vote for the democratic candidate for president.

    1. Anonymous2:03 PM

Have a happy and safe 4th. I just returned from camping. Hoards of campers and I still was invaded by a blackbear. Guess he was there for the buffet. Got home and we have our second big wildfire inside a week. Its fireseason!

    2. Anonymous2:22 PM

We are so happy here in AK that the 4th holiday was very rainy and cloudy so that there were no incidental fires. Looks like more rain today so that tonight's fireworks will not ignite the forests.

So sorry for you being in wildfire country this year!

    3. Anonymous6:02 AM

No one with all their're talking about palin people, right?

  8. Anonymous8:54 AM

Good Daily Kos reading on Independence Day:

  9. Anita Winecooler12:33 PM

Happy Independence Day, all and Thank You for your service all vets. You're not forgotten and never will be.

  10. Anonymous6:29 PM

Jesse, don't say bitchez with a Z. You can't pull it off.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
