Hillary Clinton once again meets with Elizabeth Warren amid speculation over her VP choice.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Hillary Clinton met with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Friday amid a string of conversations with advisers aimed at closing in on a running mate, according to multiple reports.

They met at Clinton's home in Washington, D.C., NBC's Monica Alba reported. The meeting reportedly lasted about an hour.

It's the second time in recent weeks that Warren has visited the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee's home. Members of the media closely followed Warren's private meeting with Clinton last month after the Massachusetts senator formally endorsed her.

Clinton has also recently met with others whose names have been bandied about as potential VP choices such as  John Hickenlooper, Julian Castro, and Tim Kaine, however it is still my firm believe that none of them bring to the table what Warren brings.

She virtually destroys that "Clinton is in the pocket of Wall Street" argument, and will easily attract those still straggling Bernie supporters.

Beside an all woman ticket will make this election almost as historic as the 2008 election, and who DOESN'T want to see Elizabeth Warren face off with freaking Mike Pence during a VP debate?

In fact she is not waiting until a debate to take him on.

Damn, this could be so good!

They are turning themselves inside out to justify why Sarah wasn't picked for VP and why she isn't going to the convention. It's truly sad, and hilarious to read their spin while they choke on their tears, and they HATE Pence with a passion. LOL!

He and President Obama have been an outstanding team and appear to have a very good friendship.

We are going to miss them!

But, Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren would be a dynamic team! Most enjoyment during the campaign would be seeing Warren debate Trump's VP pick! Damn, but cannot recall his name?!

I think it's much more important to resonate with voters who actually speak English. This is America and yes some immigrants need to catch up and learn the language but I don't believe in pandering to them just because they haven't bothered to learn yet.

In any language there are so many subtilties. I watched a conversation recently he had with a Hispanic interviewer who made a joke - and Kaine understood exactly what the man meant.
In my experience working with Hispanic people - they do the best they can with the words/phrases they have learned. I was not saying Hispanics should not learn the English language - and pandering was not where I was coming from.

Nearly 30% of the people in my New England town are from Puerto Rico. They came from America and are Americans - and they speak Spanish.

      Delete
    5. Anonymous12:11 AM

A lot of immigrants who speak English well enough still appreciate that someone can speak Spanish. It's wonderful to hear your native language in an unexpected context.

I'm several generations removed from immigration, but anyone who can speak more than one language gets a TON of respect from me.

And for anyone who snivels about immigrants not learning English fast enough, I have this question: How many languages do YOU speak? I don't care if you are not an immigrant, we all have a duty as world citizens to learn more than one language, especially rich Americans (we are ALL rich compared to where about 99% of hispanic immigrants are coming from - if you don't believe me, you need to spend some time in rural Mexico or Guatemala or Nicaragua) who have access to educational opportunities and the internet. That line of thinking is just so freaking clueless and disrespectful.

"an all woman ticket will make this election almost as historic as the 2008 election" Two women on a national party's ticket will make this election objectively MORE historic than 2008, by 1. A woman at the top of the ticket is pretty fucking historic. Two is mind-blowing. But, it's silly to even make comparisons of which is more historic. Both are paradigm-shifting elections. Both are necessary for us to move forward.

Warren would be excellent. Sherrod Brown would be great. Hickenlooper is unlikely to actually be in serious contention. Tim Kaine is...ughhhh...he's extremely centrist and is somewhat of a step backwards in terms of the progress of the party. He might have been the best choice politically, had Bernie not happened, but he did and he proved that a large part of the party wants to keep pushing left. Julian Castro is a craven political move since his political experience boils-down to figure head of San Antonio and just two years as HUD secretary. He's simply not ready to be VP. Clinton should give him a top shelf cabinet appointment to get him ready for 2024- something like Secretary of State that gives him a ton of foreign experience. At that point, we'll be ready for a Latino presidential candidate and he'll be ready for the job!

It is so brilliantly apparent when they are together.
What I would personally love most about the pick, even more than the respect I have for Warren, is what it would say about HRC, if she goes with the person she clearly wants on the ticket even though it would be a gutsy move. Such a major contrast with Little Donny, who clearly had the hots for Christie but was forced to settle. (How does it feel to be schlonged by the GOP, Donny? Was it as good for you as it was for them?)

If it's only Warren, Castro and Hickenlooper, that's a pretty narrow field. Also pretty uninspiring, except for Warren.

Hickenlooper would be the butt of jokes and Castro will be linked to Cuba even if undeservedly. Plus Castro has no experience; not enough to be a President. At least Hickenlooper is a Governor.

If it's only those three, I question Hillary's decision making. I didn't like some of Obama's appointments either, specifically, Education and Interior.

There is no such thing as "Cherokee DNA." Scientists do not have an accurate genetic map of Native American peoples, and they intermarried with each other anyway, especially after colonists arrived and disrupted their movements. Like all tribes, the Cherokee only accepts ancestry records of enrolled members as proof of Native blood. If someone told you you have "Cherokee DNA" they're a bad scientist.

I'm not part Cherokee, and that doesn't give me the right to slam another person who IS part Cherokee. If you think about it, people of native descent, whatever percentage, are the REAL Americans who hold this land and it's riches sacred, and have for generations. So they're MORE american than the rest of us.
There ARE exceptions to everything, look at the Palins and the honor they've given their ancestors.

I would have no problem with Hillary/Elizabeth, however I think it is a very risky move, in a very important election.

It is been an uphill battle just getting the USA to join the 21st century with one woman on the ticket, let alone two.

I still think that they are men that would be ok with voting for one woman, but not two and could ease there conscience that at least "there is a man in the background in charge" Not all the "pigs" are Republican.

Also we would be losing a sure Democratic seat in the senate.

As much as I would love a two woman ticket, I think it would be better to wait for the next election.

Give the neanderthals use to a woman president for the next 8 years first, then go for it.
