So it appears that potential Trump VP candidates are running from him as fast as they can.

Donald Trump and his runaway bride, Senator Bob Corker.
So early yesterday we heard that Trump was vetting Senators Bob Corker and Joni Ernst as possible VP choices.

However by the end of the day we saw this:

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker withdrew himself Wednesday from consideration as a possible running mate for Donald Trump.

The surprise move comes as sources had told CNN Corker was being "very seriously" vetted by the Trump campaign.

And this:

Joni Ernst all but removed herself from Donald Trump’s vice presidential search, telling POLITICO in an interview that she wants to help Trump become president but that she’s focused on Iowa and the Senate, where the freshman senator said she's “just getting started.”

The GOP senator met with Trump on Monday and received effusive praise afterward, with Trump predicting he will “see her again.” But it likely won’t be as his running mate. Story Continued Below

“I made that very clear to him that I’m focused on Iowa. I feel that I have a lot more to do in the United States Senate. And Iowa is where my heart is,” Ernst said Wednesday. “I’m just getting started here. I have a great partner with Chuck Grassley, we’ve been able to accomplish a lot. And I think that President Trump will need some great assistance in the United States Senate and I can provide that.”

Really can't say I blame either one of them.

Could you even imagine being strapped into this runaway train as it barrels towards it ultimate fiery end?

Oh hell no.

I think that Trump ought to focus on those who are desperate enough to jump on board, like Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, and of course Sarah Palin. (Please, please, please.)

Gotta wonder if Corker (member of Senate Foreign Relations Committee) didn't make up his mind at the rally he attended with Trump the other night when Trump said he loved Saddam Hussein and how he killed "terrorists" without due process. Saddam Hussein who deemed the Kurds his enemies and poison gassed men, women and children to deal with the "problem".

I've said before Trump is a sick twisted dude who has some of the most horrific thoughts and images rattling around in his brain and that spew from his mouth unfiltered. This man will never change - he is what he is and believes everything he says.

Trump is also being accused of child rape of a 13 year old girl in a Federal lawsuit.

Given his titanic narcissism, and the comments he's made about wanting to "date" his daughter, I would not doubt for one minute that he has committed rape.

His own ex-wife said he raped her in sworn testimony.

I'm not posting links, just google it, you'll find it all over the web.

Surprised over Corker's refusal. He used to be mayor of Chattanooga--a nice place to visit. Don't live there. They call it Little Chicago for a reason, the fucking corruption is RAMPANT in city gov't.

I think even Sarah Palin sees the writing on the wall and doesn't want to go down in history as a two time Veep loser. Gingrich will sell his own mother for a buck. He'll do it.

I think Sarah is delusional enough to think that she could clinch the White House for Trump. So she's in.

But I doubt Chris Christie would agree at this stage. He is politically savvy enough to know Trump will lose and that if he wants a shot at the White House again he needs to stay clear of Trump. Being on a losing ticket is political suicide at this point. Sure, Paul Ryan may be majority leader but he won't be running for president any time soon. McCain and Romney are jokes as is Sarah Palin.

Even if Christie considers it, I'm pretty sure his wife would talk him out of it. I don't think she wants anything to do with Trump or his wife.

  4. Given that the inauguration is January 20 2017 (Friday) then you could book in the impeachment for later that afternoon or the following Monday if everyone is still in town. Kill 2 birds...

A clever VP would go all "Frank Underwood" on Trump and have him impeached immediately and become POTUS.

Too much "House of cards for me" I guess.

Cannot believe the unbelievable hypocrisy of Paul Ryan wanting to deny Hillary Clinton access to her security briefing when she becomes the Democratic nominee. But he'll share with Trump - the mouth that spewed?

I see Trump is in DC today for meetings with Republicans on the hill. Too funny Ivanka and hubby have to accompany Daddy to make sure he doesn't totally screw up the latest Trump get rich quick scheme.

I read an article yesterday on the Huffington Post that said if the Republicans want to get Trump to bow out all they have to do is make a new party rule that all candidates running for President MUST release their tax returns for the last 10 years. If they passed that rule at the convention, Trump would bolt immediately. Please, oh please pass that rule.

Ha! They never even saw squeaky clean Romney's tax returns. They do not want to show their returns. Americans might finally throw them all out of their cushy non-jobs.

    2. Anonymous10:29 PM

Oh, I think it would be show them to the party privately, not release them publicly. Trump would still bolt but they'd be able to hide all of the dirt within the ranks.

You know, we can mock Trump all we want and be all logical about it, but the reality is that he is not that far behind in the polls. Hillary also gave the GOP a huge pile of completely avoidable ammo against her this week with the careless use of the e-mail (albeit not illegal). The voters are distracted and bombarded with GOP disinformation and any new terrorist events will stoke fear. The man is shrewd and can manipulate the media very well. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE TRUMP.

Yes,we do understand the electoral college. Some scholars in the area have actually said that despite what it looks like now, under the right circumstances (and we know how the voting machines can do wierd things to help the GOP) that things could change.

It is getting old that on this blog you cannot have a dissenting comment without being labeled a troll or other nasty comments.

Trump's base are the under educated white males, preferably from the "fly over" states, meaning the middle of the country. He can win all of those states and still lose because the states with the highest number of electoral votes will go to Hillary. Read Nate Silver and study how he makes predictions. http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/
Right now, Silver says that Clinton has a 77% chance of winning over Trump. That means that he still has a chance, but not very likely at this point. When Bush ran, his brother controlled the state that determined the 2000 election. When Bush ran again, there was a Republican machine in place that threw Ohio to Bush, winning the election. Trump has no ground troops, just a small campaign staff of around 30 people. He thinks that the RNC will provide the troops, but they are more concerned about their down ticket races. They could lose the house and senate, plus governors races.

I predicted daughter as vp candidate consideration because he does not trust not being undermined for attention nor being exposed. She is lovely to look as was Sara and perfect as a the patron saint of bigots. It is the "food poisoning" that Sarah alluded to ie guarenteeing quick vp accension to president. Sarah's speech was telling him that she would not undermine his presidency like strong male figures with strong political contacts would do. Trump wants a vp that will serve as a high functioning admin assistant. Ivanka would protect her father if legally allowed to run. If not, Sara is another choice because unlike men, her agenda, if self serving, can be controlled by his kids. Christy and Newt are too shrewd.

While I agree with Sara not being highly functioning etc., this is about trump protecting himself against someone undermining him, while allowing himself to do his own thing.
Trump has been given a lot of credit for strengths he does not possess. He is paranoid and vengeful (so Christ-like). As president he will definitely go after his naysayers and industry competitors.

People that do not interact within a secret or top secret environment must understand that these issues, because of lack of intent and most importantly, poor enterprise IT structure are NOT jailable or even fireable offenses, depending upon the individual. It was not under Hillary's purview to maintain a secure environment where none existed. Let's talk to the head of that department.
