Top Trump aide says that Chris Christie was "livid" at not being chosen as Don the Con's VP.

I'm just going to stand back here until he notices me.
Courtesy of the Weekly Standard:

While minding my own business at the Starbucks inside the Westin hotel this morning, I saw a man engage Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort in conversation about the VP selection process. The man, whom I couldn't identify, suggested that Pence was a smart pick and Gingrich would've been a disaster.

"Christie was livid, right?" the man said at one point. "Yeah," Manafort replied.

Christie has made no secret that he was disappointed he wasn't chosen to be Donald Trump's running mate. "[I] don't like coming in second. Ever," Christie said Thursday. But the conversation overheard by THE WEEKLY STANDARD Sunday suggests Christie's feelings were far more intense than mere disappointment.

I don't get it.

Christie was loyal.

He was an aggressive surrogate.

Nobody can argue that he really fills out a baseball uniform.

So why did he not get the job?

After all how much shit do you have to eat for Donald Trump to put you on the ticket?

Well from the look of discomfort on the face of Mike Pence it must be quite a bit.

    I don't understand why people don't get this --

Pence was forced on him in the hope of attracting big name campaign contributions. Everything he has done in the last month screams that he needs money. He's lying about his haul, lying about forgiving the debt and pretending to be normal. He can't fund this himself and he needs $$$$ NOW, mainly so he can funnel that $$$ back to companies he owns.

OH! And also -- there's the fact that he illegally sought contributions from foreigners.

He is STILL begging for money from overseas. I wonder how many of the vendors at this shit-fest, oops "convention", will be left hanging when time to pay up arrives? Christie went on McDonald runs for tRump, and all he got were the bills, I bet! What a fine figure of a man he is in that uniform, eh?

That is what was "leaked" out. It is likely that trump himself leaked or approved the leak because the people that work for him sign non-disclosure agreements.

His management style is pitting his staff against one another. He is trying to look innocent of betraying gingrich and Christie. He chose the person he wanted and made individual promises that made each guy feel that they were his choice. I suspect he disparaged one another to both men and made each believe that he favored one over the other. That's why they were in shock and livid. They should both walk away because then each would be known as the person who stood up to Trump.

I don't like Cuccinelli but my husband does--they belong to the same gun club etc. Yesterday, Cuccinelli had the balls to go against Trump. Now, I respect him. Hopefully he won't be kissing Trumps ring any time in the future.

Much of his campaine has been funneled back with his companies providing services. Of course he'd hope that would continue with donor $$$$ also and too.

The RNC didn't have enough money for the convention.

Pence is a kochsucker and the Kochs way into the campaign. So I'm sure there was a phone call saying put Pence on the ticket and you'll get money. So the Republican presidential ticket was bought and paid for.

That is the evil of money in politics and why campaign finance must be cleaned up.

Maybe if Melania really did write the speech, she's telling us that she'd rather be married to Barack than to Donald. I'm reminded of the time Condoleezza Rice refered to Shrub as "My husband".

“From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise; that you treat people with respect,” Trump told the thousands of Republican delegates and assembled media on Monday night in Cleveland.

In 2008, Mrs. Obama said, “You work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.”

Trump’s spouse also lifted a line about children from Michelle Obama, saying, “We want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

In 2008, Michelle Obama said, “We want our children — and all children in this nation — to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

Thank you Mr. Trump for taking despicable Mike Pence with you on your losing quest for power. I live in Indiana and we don't want him back. Both Pence and his wife are arrogant and think they are better than everybody else, kind of like Christie and Mary Pat.
Go over to talkingpointsmemo.com and read what Pence wanted to do to women under his "forced birth" legislation. It was set to become law July 1st but the Supreme Court ruling on Texas abortions put the kibosh on it.

But think about Michelle Obama--we won't get another FLOTUS to match this class act (no offense intended, Mrs Clinton). Mrs. Obama will certainly not fade away into any limelight, but she will be sorely missed in the White House. Trump sent out another wolf signal with Chachi's speech that used the word "messiah" when describing Trump. Today's benediction was about Trump and criticised as heretical by republicans on Redstate.com.

I think "Daddy" Trump will require worship in all arenas. Reminds me of the USSR and the fact that Putin and Trump are best buddies. Sadly, most of our voting population does not understand the details of the cold war. It's just a word to them that paranoid old people use.

I don't think either side had integrity but I do think this was a faustian bargain. The goppers-in-charge (haha!) forced their choice for vp on drumpf and in return they defeated the stop-trumpers.
I mean drumpf acts like a five year old about having to be seen with the great unwashed known as pence - ignoring him, talking over him, etc.
The roll out and this interview shows just how little drumpf wanted pence and how little respect he has for him.
Oh yeah, you want to force your guy on me, well we'll just see how that goes.

Trump uses people and then discards them. Christie and others who sucked up to him are reaping what they trumped.

Notice in the photo of the interview, the VP contender's chair appears smaller and shorter. Emperor Trump will always want his subjects lower than him. It's probably an optical illusion, but tells the truth about how Trump will value anyone around him, that they always submit to him.

What's sad is that just because of people's aversion to a strong woman like Hilary they would vote Trump. But the Republicans learned the hard way with George W. Bush and they will learn with Trump. Another sad thing, is if he wins we will learn too, a lesson we don't want to learn. Wish, the Republican voters would come to their senses and just avoid this disaster altogether.

I saw bits and parts of that interview with Trump and Pence. Donald narcissism is really out there on this one. He wanted to do all the blah blah blahing about himself and when he couldn't contain himself a second longer he burst into the conversation like a two year old. I think he may have aspergers or something. It must be hard to have his mind. Hard to control that little waggy tongue of his. His blah blah blahing is not that of a conscious, thinking adult. I've seen this before but in classrooms. And to think, people are wanting him as our President. America think again.
