Al Gore has a message for voters and those worried about Climate Change. Vote.

Courtesy of Think Progress:

First of all I understand their feelings and misgivings. But if they are interested in my personal advice. I am voting for Hillary Clinton. I urge everyone else to do the same.

I particularly urge anyone who is concerned about the climate crisis, sees it as the kind of priority that I see it as, to look at the sharp contrast between the solar plan that Secretary Clinton has put forward, and her stated commitment to support the Clean Power Plan, and the contrast between what she has said and is proposing with the statements of the Republican nominee, which give me great concern.

You'll notice that Gore does NOT suggest that anybody vote for a third party candidate, which probably is not a surprise considering his experience in 2000 with Ralph Nader.

And of course he is correct here.

If we care about the environment, education, equal rights, gun violence, or pretty much ANY issue we can think of, then Hillary Clinton is the only sane choice.

To do otherwise is to demonstrate a lack of seriousness during a very serious time in our country.

Yes indeed. Does media corporations have a vote? Do they donate? Does media corporations have a general Pledge, promise, oath or ethics agreement with usa citizens. Does media corporations have a legal obligation to humanity? Who regulates media? FCC? FTC? I noticed some media have given mr trump coverage without exposing his dangerous circle of associations, the sex assault lawsuits, the business lawsuits, IRS audits, and the many victims of this man and his FOUNDATIONS. A clear deviation of the truth and facts to excuse his actions. I believe that media and producers of all programing have an obligation to promote honesty, civility, humanity and a decent human society by airing and feeding the world programing that does not promote division, hate and a toxic society.

Why should Al Gore's statement begin with saying that he understands "feelings and misgivings"? He was the vice president under Bill Clinton after all. Good grief! He's as much help as Bernie Sanders.

I just hate it that Gore's presidency was stolen from him.
The NY Times did a total count of the vote, and Al Gore DID win Florida and therefore he won the election in 2000.
It is really sad when our country accepted a stolen election.

"First of all I understand their feelings and misgivings"

Jimmy Carter started his statement of support the other day with something like "I know she's unliked..."

With friends like these, who needs enemies? Gore and Carter are Democrats' Democrats. The real deal and this how they talk about their candidate. Just shows how much baggage Clinton has to surmount.

Just goes to their integrity and honesty.

Hillary Clinton has very high disapproval ratings and very low trustworthiness.

Trump is even more disliked and even less trusted.

Just because Trump is so universally hated doesn't mean Hillary is loved. Just that she is slightly better than the alternative.

Carter and Gore recognize that and aren't sugar coating it or sweeping it under the rug. Or dismissing it like the Hillary panty sniffers.

They are also reality based like Obama, Michael Moore and Bill Maher.

This will not be a cake walk. It should not be assumed that Clinton will win.

Progressives and Liberals should be on notice that just because Clinton wins they can relax and the fight is over. On the contrary, the fight will have just begun and the pressure will need to be kept on her and her administration to follow through on promises made and the party platform agreed to.

    Let's compare:
Republican: government control of women's reproductive systems
Democrat: government subsidy of contraception, cancer-screening, preventative medicine
Republican: guns for everybody including terrorists on the watch list
Democrat: gun-control laws to keep crazy people from getting firearms and explosives
Republican: government subsidy for dirty coal and oil production
Democrat: government subsidy for clean technology energy like wind and solar
Republican: massive armed police-state soldiers invading private American homes and deporting citizens
Democrat: working with immigrants toward citizenship
Republican: rich people should profit from your health-care
Democrat: rich people should help pay for health care for people that can't afford it
Republican: only the wealthy get access to education (charter schools, expensive college)
    Democrat: everyone gets educated
Republican: the rich shouldn't have to pay taxes
Democrat: the rich should have to pay more since they have more
Republicans: the 1% are the "job creators"
Democrats: the 1% are the "plantation owners"
    Republicans: global-warming doesn't exist
    Democrats: are you serious?
Republicans: the party of the rich
    Democrats: everyone else
Why all the noise about Hillary's emails, health, Benghazi?
    To detract from the issues.
    ...pretty clear choice

Communist Russia was able to get out of their Afghan mistakes. They were not as hideous as the lying capitalist warmongers from America. America can't yet admit mistakes and who their criminals are. They allow war criminals to go without a trial and dealing with their responsibility and paying back all they destroy. The destruction goes on in Bush forever wars.

Afghan Taliban is like American Taliban. They both hate and attack our schools.

When schools in the states are blown away with assault weapons and children slaughtered it is different from Afghan Taliban. The dead are just as dead, and the crazy and violent continue to do their thing.

This latest violence is not the only violence in Afghanistan, it is the most recent. They were targeting and attacking education.

Ken Salazar is named to Hillary's transition team, was in charge of the Interior under Obama and could be in line for another cabinet position under Clinton.

Ken Salazar is a big fan of FRACKING and the Keystone XL Pipeline. He's also in favor of the TPP.

So one side is just barely better than the other.

Republicans deny Climate Change and Democrats don't.

Other than that, I don't see a lot of difference.

The truth is in the actions, not the lip service. Clinton may talk progressive but she acts big business and Wall St.

When the Democrats actually do something about Climate Change, then maybe I won't be so cynical.

So far California is doing more on a state level than the Feds are doing. On Climate Change California has always been ahead of the curve.

I have the same problems with Hillary Clinton. Fracking is killing and going to kill more people. 50 or more years ago, way before I heard of fracking, my geologist uncle told me why he would never live on the west coast.

There is the fault and when they take oil out off the coast they have big cavities. The planet is a living thing and it is going to shift and do what it does without man. California tries to respect that but believe me the nuts are there and they deny more than climate change. It is a serious ongoing fight for California.

When Hillary voted for shock and awe Iraq, that was a huge let down at the time and forward. I know she says she sees it another way now, but I am still leery. Next to Trump, I forget the leery. Her mistakes and flaws aren't as bad, they aren't so far nuclear. Sad this is the system we have and this is the deal. It is vital and fact that Donald Trump is unfit and can never be in a position of power. Not like a President.

California has halted new offshore drilling leases off the coast but the Feds under Obama are trying to open them up again. Californians are working towards a ban on fracking in the state as well but the Feds are trying to open that up too. Yes, under Obama. I have no reason to think Clinton and Democrats in Congress will do any differently.

      http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/california-counties-push-for-all-out-fracking-ban-224386

Pennsylvania is one of the states with really serious fracking. It is poisoning wells. People who used to rely on their wells for clean drinking water can't any more.

California is already in the bag for Hillary and nothing will change that.

Hillary needs Pennsylvania and naming Ken "Fracking" Salazar was a really, really BAD decision on her part.

Aren't we lucky Cheney/Bush and the Sarah Palins of that time were so farsighted as to grab up all that oil in Iraq for America? Boy were they smart (NOT)!!!! What fools!!!!! We will be paying for the war criminals and all their crimes for how long? We could go back and steal more artifacts and oil but what a screw up it already is.
