Secret Service agents rush stage when protesters get too close to Hillary Clinton.

Courtesy of TPM:

Animal rights protestors appeared at a Hillary Clinton rally Thursday in Las Vegas, to which she quipped that they should be protesting Donald Trump since "his kids have killed a lot of animals."

As Clinton was discussing her jobs plan, Secret Service agents appeared on stage as a protest broke out. It's unclear if the protesters, apparently belonging to the group "Direct Action Everywhere," tried to rush the stage or whether the agents came onstage as a precaution.

Clinton brushed off the commotion, joking that the demonstrators must have come to protest her Republican opponent.

"These people must be here to protest Trump," she said. "He and his kids have killed a lot of animals."

Here is another angle for those confused about what happened.

You know the Right Wing news outlets have been pushing the narrative that Clinton mistreats her staff and that her Secret Service detail does not like her very much, but they certainly seemed quick to respond the minute that it appears she might be in some kind of danger.

By the way I also could not help but notice that Clinton just stood there holding her ground.

Perhaps she could give Doanld Trump lessons in how to sack up in the face of protesters.

Thank you Hillary for being out there and trying to protect our country from that crazy Donald and his fans. I know you don't have to be there every day talking to people from every walk of life, and having to put up with the erratic behavior of people who got things to say, but you do it. The job you are doing to stand against people who hate you, people like Donald, it's hard, yet you are out there holding your own. Now, that's a leader.

Like them or not the Secret Service going to protect her or Trump with their lives. I did a few details with the Secret Service when I was canine handler in the military during the Reagan era. They are truly dedicated to their mission irregardless of who they are protecting. Your second paragraph is has no merit what so ever.

By "your second paragraph" I take it that you meant the second paragraph written by Gryphen in the article, the one beginning, "You know the Right Wing news outlets …".

In that paragraph, he reported on what RW news outlets have been saying about Clinton, and then pushed back, writing, "but they certainly seemed quick to respond …".

Are you saying that his pushback "has no merit what so ever"? If so, on what grounds do you make that claim? If not, then what were you trying to convey???

Hillary Clinton is amazing. She made a joke of it which is what the silly protesters deserved. And I'm glad to see the Secret Service doing their job.

Let's see the same group storm a Trump rally somewhere. At least there would be some logic to their presence at a Trump rally.

Silly protesters? You're as bad as any other who doesn't recognize just exactly what protesters have accomplished throughout history.

I don't care what or who they protest. They are never "silly".

Screw you and your little dog too. Or did you do that already?

    2. Bullshit, 8:52. As in any other human endeavors, protesters and their causes can range from the heroic, to the sublime, to the selfish, stupid, or just plain silly.

You claim that no matter what or who they protest, they are never silly?

That is just nonsense. So is your notion that no one is allowed to voice an opinion on any protest anywhere any time. What is a protest but voicing an opinion?

Anon 2:57, I agree. The son of some of our very best friends is a SS agent on Pres Obama's detail and before Pres Obama, Mrs. Bush. Their training is exemplary, extensive and so demanding. Despite all the news about corruption in the SS, I believe they would protect whoever's detail they are assigned with their own lives.

National poll: Clinton up 15 over Trump

    http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/clinton-trump-poll-226691

If the election were held today, according to FiveThirtyEight’s forecast, Clinton would have a 92 percent chance of being elected the 45th president.

Here’s the thing, though, Democrats: The election isn’t today. We still have 95 days to go until voters actually cast their ballot in the most important poll of all.

While I tend to think we’ve seen a definite shift in the presidential race over the past week – one that may be long-lasting – Democrats should still work like they’re down by 10 points.

Thinking Trump is now destined to lose would be a mistake, and it would likely breed complacency. In the final stretch of the most important election in our lifetime, that’s exactly what we don’t need.

New voters still need to be registered. Phone calls still need to be made. Doors still need to be knocked.

After all, just a few weeks ago, the race between Clinton and Trump was basically tied. The spray-tanned buffoon was even beating her in some surveys. Many Clinton supporters were about to press the panic button.

Let’s remember that feeling before we kick back in our easy chairs and act like Clinton has it in the bag. Three months is a lifetime in politics, and anything can happen between now and November.

Sure, Democrats have every right to be proud of the convention they put on in Philadelphia. They should also be grateful that Trump is slowly unraveling and showing the country who he has been all along.

But this race isn’t over, and we shouldn’t act like it. Instead, we should remember how it felt a few weeks ago when it looked like Trump was pulling ahead.

As Trump repeated his lie about seeing a video if $400 million being sent to Iran, here is what MSNBC showed over his remarks:

Hillary Clinton Shuts Down Trump For Not Naming Any Female Cabinet Choices

Besides daughter Ivanka, Donald Trump couldn’t name a single woman he was considering for cabinet positions should he – gulp – become president next year.....

..... Well, we have so many different ones to choose. I can tell you everybody would say, “Put Ivanka in, put Ivanka in,” you know that, right? She’s very popular, she’s done very well, and you know Ivanka very well. But there really are so many that are really talented people — like you, you’re so talented, but I don’t know if your viewers know that....

In less than 140 characters, the Clinton campaign was ready with a response.....

We know a guy with a binder, @realDonaldTrump. (He might not take your calls, though.) https://t.co/dxmFcISmaz

The SS guy who first approaches pats Hillary on the back and reassures her. I have seen Presidents and statesmen in person many times, including in stressful situations, and I'm a political junkie. I have literally NEVER seen that level of personal care from secret service protection.
Just another example of how Hillary really does inspire and value loyalty in her staff. All this negative nonsense about her personality is so, so false. It's infuriating. People who know her well universally love her. I don't understand why people can't see that, why they insist on misrepresenting her character.
