Donald Trump has a unique way to keep costs down, don't pay people.

Courtesy of Reuters:

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has run an unusually cheap campaign in part by not paying at least 10 top staffers, consultants and advisers, some of whom are no longer with the campaign, according to a review of federal campaign finance filings.

Those who have so far not been paid, the filings show, include recently departed campaign manager Paul Manafort, California state director Tim Clark, communications director Michael Caputo and a pair of senior aides who left the campaign in June to immediately go to work for a Trump Super PAC.

The New York real estate magnate and his allies have touted his campaign's frugality, saying it is evidence of his management skills. His campaign's spending has totaled $89.5 million so far, about a third of what Democratic rival Hillary Clinton's campaign has spent.

Let's see free media, free campaign staff, free money from his donors going to his companies, let's face it Trump really knows how to do this campaigning on the cheap thing.

Trump actually has a long history of not paying his bills, or refusing to pay them in full.  Which does not bode well for these staffers.

And since his staff has signed those nondisclosure agreements they cannot even complain about this to the press.

I wonder what they will do when they find out the whole thing was just bullshit anyway and Trump is actually angling to start a media empire instead?

  1. Our Lad6:38 AM

This bust-out artist has been stiffing people since Christ was a corporal, anyone with an IQ above room temperature can see him for who and what he is. When you look at and hear the chimpanzees that make up his fan club you have to wonder: when in the fuck did the inmates take over the asylum?

  2. Anonymous6:48 AM

    Pathetic loser bigot.

  3. Anonymous7:02 AM

Wow! what a dicktator! Trump clothing, wine, steaks, resorts, media, vitamins, healthcare, hackers, and now the purchase of America and world business. The Great White Ape in the Gold Tower from jersy paid and dazzled hundreds to do his dirty work across the usa and world. He is the first info commercial salesman to run for usa president.

    1. Anonymous8:22 AM

He has always worked w/the MOB in New York City!

Trump has proven to be a liar and fraud time and time again throughout the years.

And, he is in no way qualified or smart enough to serve as POTUS and represent Americans around the world.

      God forbid!

Vote for Hillary Clinton - she IS qualified to hold the office!

  4. Anonymous7:12 AM

He criticez Hillary for not knowing what C meant on emails, when in fact, she treated all classified emails the same - with high level of care. And yet, he thinks this is worse than putting C on applications for apartments to distinguish who not to accept.

  5. Anonymous7:15 AM

The idea of getting her own show on Trump TV gets Sarah excited.

    1. Anonymous11:07 AM

What happened to her "judge" show? weren't there any buyers to franchise it?

  6. Anonymous7:19 AM

This is nothing new for him, that's for sure. He's been doing this since he started his "businesses". Always leave the little guy holding the bill while he uses his lawyers to tie up their claims for payment in court. By then most of them have gone bankrupt and are no longer able to try to claim their rightful payments.

  7. Anonymous7:24 AM

He has also been funneling $$$ to his own companies and his kids. If this behaviour was by Hillary, the press would be all over it. He looks demented in that photo, maybe just showing his true personality??

    1. Anonymous8:18 AM

They already know what he's doing. Why do you think they accuse Hillary of taking Foundation funds for herself? Trump does it, thereby Hill must do it. Only she doesn't. Where are the Trump Foundation records? We know exactly who the Clinton Foundation takes in, from whom, and where it goes. Can anyone say the same about Trump? Right.

  8. Anonymous7:29 AM

He didn't even pay those little girls for singing at his campaign (even Stephen Colbert did a comedy bit on that one) - he doesn't pay kids, contractors, employees - so why should he pay campaign staff

    1. Anonymous8:16 AM

Those girls were represented by their father, so if he neglected to get something in writing, it's on him. Plus, I'm sure he thought his cute little Nazi ditty would be so adored that the girls would be touring with Trump across the country. Instead, folks saw it for the "Young Nazi" theme it was, made fun of it, and Trump dropped them. Maybe they can try out for America's Got Talent. They don't pay either.

    2. Anonymous8:18 AM

And, the media/press has supported and pushed Trump's candidacy for over a year now all the while casting dispersion and lies against/about Hillary Clinton.

Stop watching CNN and MSNBC as they are very worst!

I've ceased watching America's political coverage because I don't believe a thing that is said - America's cable is all about ratings - with zero substance!

Are we a racist nation? Yes we are and have always been! Do cops treat minorities horribly in certain areas of our country? Yes they do and many get away with it! Is Donald Trump racist? Yes he is and it's been proven - he's been sued and had to pay big bucks in New York!

Is Hillary Clinton qualified to be our next POTUS? Yes, she is! Get out the vote folks and cast yours for Mrs. Clinton in November!

    3. Anonymous9:45 AM

The only people that get paid by Don The Con are himself and his immediate family. Everybody else is scr*wed.

    4. Anonymous10:15 AM

They eventually negotiated that a table would be set up at events so they could hawk their CDs and DVDs.

Guess what? When they got table.

Yes, the Trump campaign couldn't even be bothered to supply a fucking table.

*THAT* is how cheap Trump is.

But the girls' parents are equally at fault. When they got there they should have asked "were is the table we agreed on?". No table? They don't perform.

This is as much about the parents' greed as it is about Donald being cheap. They pushed their kids to sing lipsync that horrid song, do that lame dance, I suppose hoping the exposure would make them the next "Supremes" and they got stiffed. They were asking for it.

I loved the spoof on Stephen Colbert. Deserved by all parties.

  9. That is truly a 2X4 smile he is sporting, there. That's a smile I'd live to remove with the help of one swift stroke of a 2X4 across his face.

    1. Anonymous8:09 AM

Every time I see his fat face, I always want to deck him! Damn, but I hope he is NEVER elected POTUS! What a jerk and inept boy/man!

  10. I imagine that with Trump's obesity and obvious lack of stamina and strength, that this is only way things can get "stiff" is when he "stiffs" his former employees, vendors, and contractors. As my dearly departed mother used to say, "He's a poor paymaster."

To me, his many trifling scams, petty schemes signify that he is heavily in debt personally and in dreadful, desperate need of cash. What genuine billionaire refuses to pay bills, refuses to release tax returns, establishes fraudalent for profit "schools," engages in snake oil hucksterism of substandard products, and runs a "company store/sharecropping/plantation" heist of the wages of underage, undocumented models?

    1. Anonymous8:45 AM

At least Bernie Madoff had more class.

    2. Anonymous8:50 AM

I don't even want to think about stiffness here.
Regarding the schemes, it's long been said that this kind of larceny has been his MO all along. He gets what he wants and then stiffs (so to speak) the little guy. Remember the "I love debt" remark? He loves it because he knows just how to use and abuse it.
People look at billionaires who are penny-pinchers and think, how can they be so cheap? But that's how they got to be billionaires in the first place. With tRump it isn't penny-pinching, it's the outright larceny you describe.

  11. Anonymous7:53 AM

This post does not mention -- but I'm sure we all campaign expenses. Like campaign funds paying for rented space in Trump Tower, buying SO MANY of the logo campaign hats from a family friend.

  12. Trump: "Let's see, what business have I not failed in and left the bankruptcy bills to be paid for by losers I hired? I know, right-wing news media! It will be yuuuge and the greatest ever!"

That even one American cannot see through his long-long charade is chilling. Much less millions!

White America is a dying entity -- do not discount what these Trumpers, as cornered beasts, will do to deny "their" America's demise and punish the "other". The bully/victim ethos epitomized by Trump.

If every Democrat doesn't get out and vote - to take back both Houses -- they deserve the dire consequences. If you thought Obama's Congress was obstructionist, you ain't seen nothin' yet, IMHO.

  13. Anonymous8:34 AM

Nope. "they" America, does not deserve don john trump network aka organization aka aka aka aka caca.

  14. Anonymous8:45 AM

Remember Lawrence O'Donnell's take on that fire-and-brimstone AZ speech? That it was a tRump attempt to have his cake (keeping the nutcase base riled up) and eat it too (softening his actual stance.)
It's looking better by the day:
tRump's problem is, the Internet remembers. Anyone who saw or sees 10 seconds of that speech knows just how hate-filled and angry Mr. tRump is about immigrants. Gotta be sure snippets of said speech are replayed, early and often.

  15. Anonymous8:56 AM

Where's the article on how Bernie Sanders stiffed all his campaign workers and has a history of not paying *his* bills?

Why all the attention on Trump? We need to get back to the real meat of the election; Bashing Bernie and tearing him down. That's what will really get Hillary votes!

    1. Anonymous9:35 AM

Newt Gingrich did not pay all the vendors from his campaign years ago. The judge would not allow him to have the lawsuits thrown out!! Now he is toadying up to tRump, wanting a job in his administration to grift taxpayers some more. Gop are all shysters.

    2. Anonymous10:05 AM

Trump is the candidate - Bernie is NOT! No reason whatsoever to cover the 'non candidate'!

Trump should be investigated to the max as is being done to Clinton!

  16. Anonymous9:00 AM

Trump ordered to pay contractor $300k after trying to stiff them on a $24k bill…

El Trumpo tried to screw over a mom and pop paint store by saying he had painted them enough. Well, a judge disagreed and now he has to pay them 12 times as much to cover their lawyer’s fees.

    From the Miami Herald:

    1. Anonymous11:52 PM

It's about time Don the Con got slapped upside the head with a big bill. He better pay it too or the judge will make it really hurt.

Here’s how many people believe Trump will make Mexico PAY for his WALL

The latest ABC News poll must have only polled Democrats and ignored the massive, yuge and tremendous “hidden” Trump vote, because it shows SIX times as many Americans believe he’s on crack if he believes he can make Mexico pay for the wall than Trumpers who believe it.

Sooooo, if Donald loses the election, then we can expect him to grift like Sarah did with her pac? I think so. He was always a grifter, and wanna be business man. The only reason he's in this place now is because of his big mouth. He is so filled with hate, and like flies to shit, his followers came. It's been a long damned year. When Hillary wins we can expect the Republicans to ramp up the lie machine on Benghazi, E-mails, and whatever they hatch up. We know if it's a Republican dominated congress and senate that they will work four years to block whatever she tries to accomplish, and they will gridlock our country. It's their ploy and they have taken over our country and don't care who they hurt in the process. The tyranny that our forefathers ran from in England are here to stay. All in the name of consumerism. It's a quandary. And the less educated our people become, the more manageable. That's why we have the Donald. He's their pied piper.

  23. Anonymous10:15 AM

The moment that Mitt Romney lost, he cut off the credit cards of his entire campaign staff. They had no way to check out of the hotel unless they wanted to cover their bills themselves. They could not take a cab to the airport. Everything was stopped. At the time, Romney was supposed to have been worth $250 million. I don't know how much the campaign had, but he cheated all of the people who worked for him.

By the way, Romney always thought that he would win. He only looked at the polls that showed him winning. The only honest prediction came from Nate Silver 538 which showed that Obama had an 85% chance of winning. Romney had no concession speech. He had to write it on his i-pad after the results came in. I don't know if he ever paid for his staff's final expenses, but cutting off the credit cards the moment he lost was on a par with Trump stiffing all of the people who worked for him and he just didn't feel like paying. It would take a lot of nerve to sue Trump for the damages, considering the formidable resources he could bring to court.

That's funny, because until recently, SarahPAC paid enormous sums to people who don't seem to be doing very much for her. She no longer gives speeches. She seems to be writing her own facebook posts. She has not sent out a fund raising email for her PAC since last June. Who knows where all that postage goes. Romney claims to be self funding but he collects donations. They are all using and abusing the system.

    1. Anonymous10:38 AM

Funny how the minute Republican candidates quit they refuse to pay their bills.

      Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney.

At least Donald Trump has a lifelong history of leaving everyone empty handed after they've rendered their services. Of course, with that history, anyone working for him or providing any services should know better than to expect to be paid.

  24. Anonymous10:35 AM

Who cares about those campaign workers. They deserve what they get working for and trying to elect a person like Trump.

USA TODAY exclusive: Hundreds allege Donald Trump doesn’t pay his bills

.... Donald Trump often portrays himself as a savior of the working class who will "protect your job." But a USA TODAY NETWORK analysis found he has been involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the past three decades — and a large number of those involve ordinary Americans, like the Friels, who say Trump or his companies have refused to pay them.

At least 60 lawsuits, along with hundreds of liens, judgments, and other government filings reviewed by the USA TODAY NETWORK, document people who have accused Trump and his businesses of failing to pay them for their work.

    Among them:

    A dishwasher in Florida.

A glass company in New Jersey.

    A carpet company.

    A plumber.

    Forty-eight waiters.

    Dozens of bartenders

and other hourly workers at his resorts and clubs, coast to coast.

Real estate brokers who sold his properties.

And, ironically, several law firms that once represented him in these suits and others.

    1. Anonymous10:43 AM

Donald has the deeper pockets. He know he can get away with this because they'll either settle for less than agreed upon or not even bother to fight for their rightful payment. Either way, Donald wins.

What he doesn't expect is for anything to get far enough that a judge renders a verdict and certainly not a verdict against him. Having to pay 12 times the original amount sends a message. But unfortunately, Donald will be tone deaf. He figures in the long run he still wins; the money he saves stiffing people more than makes up for the few judgements he loses.

  25. Anonymous10:38 AM

Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. That includes 21 citations against the defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and three against the also out-of-business Trump Mortgage LLC in New York. Both cases were resolved by the companies agreeing to pay back wages.

(You know the daughter Donald has been eyeing)

    USA Today:
Trump and his daughter Ivanka, in an interview with USA TODAY, shrugged off the lawsuits and other claims of non-payment. If a company or worker he hires isn’t paid fully, the Trumps said, it’s because The Trump Organization was unhappy with the work.

    1. Anonymous10:48 AM

I guess they don't understand that that is not how it works.

Considering how many people they stiff, seems like there is no pleasing the Trump family.

  27. Anonymous10:47 AM

In addition to the lawsuits, the review found more than 200 mechanic’s liens — filed by contractors and employees against Trump, his companies or his properties claiming they were owed money for their work — since the 1980s.

The liens range from a $75,000 claim by a Plainview, N.Y., air conditioning and heating company to a $1 million claim from the president of a New York City real estate banking firm.

On just one project, Trump’s Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, records released by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1990 show that at least 253 subcontractors weren’t paid in full or on time, including workers who installed walls, chandeliers and plumbing.

    1. Anonymous10:51 AM

With a history like that, I'd demand to be paid up front. Half down at the beginning and the remainder half way through the job. No money, no work.

Of course Trump would never agree to such a contract. So that makes anyone working for him that doesn't demand such conditions a FOOL to do any work or provide any product to him without being paid FIRST.

This is why people with bad credit can't get mortgages or car loans. People with bad credit are required to pay up front for everything. Donald Trump should be required to do the same.

Juan Carlos Enriquez, owner of The Paint Spot, in South Florida, has been waiting more than two years to get paid for his work at the Doral.

The Paint Spot first filed a lien against Trump’s course, then filed a lawsuit asking a Florida judge to intervene.

In courtroom testimony, the manager of the general contractor for the Doral renovation admitted that a decision was made not to pay The Paint Spot because Trump “already paid enough.”

As the construction manager spoke, “Trump’s trial attorneys visibly winced, began breathing heavily, and attempted to make eye contact” with the witness, the judge noted in his ruling.

  29. Anonymous11:20 AM

Similar cases have cropped up with Trump’s facilities in California and New York, where hourly workers, bartenders and wait staff have sued with a range of allegations from not letting workers take breaks to not passing along tips to servers.

Trump's company settled the California case, and the New York case is pending.

Trump must be afraid of California, but thinks he has some sort of influence in New York, because, you know Trump Tower.

  30. Anonymous11:27 AM

In the interview, Trump said that complaints represent a tiny fraction of his business empire and dealings with contractors and employees, insisting all are paid fairly. “We pay everybody what they’re supposed to be paid, and we pay everybody on time,” he said. “And we employ thousands and thousands of people. OK?”
    -USA Today

    1. Anonymous2:11 PM

      Because he says so?

    2. Anonymous12:02 AM

Make him define "what they're supposed to be paid".

Because I'll bet Donald decides what they're supposed to be paid and all too often, he stops paying when he thinks it's enough.

Melania is the only woman with a DEGREE IN ARCHITECTURE that can POSE NUDE with another nude women. Okay that's good enough for me.

Big questions about Melania Trump's immigration status linger

.... example, that an immigrant who enters the country by illegally crossing the southern border can simply marry an American citizen and be granted a green card.

"If I marry somebody who is undocumented, the only way at this point she is going to get a green card is if she lawfully entered the United States originally," Leopold said. "If the person entered the country without inspection -- I married a woman who crossed the border or entered through fraud or something like that -- then she is ineligible to get a green card in the United States."

To get a work-related visa, Leopold adds, Trump's prospective employer would have to prove that Trump filled a job duty that no American could fill -- to show, in other words, that no other model in New York City would have done that shoot. Unless of course she had special skills -- or a special degree.

"I came here for my career, and I did so well, I moved here. It never crossed my mind to stay here without papers. That is just the person you are. You follow the rules. You follow the law. Every few months you need to fly back to Europe and stamp your visa. After a few visas, I applied for a green card and got it in 2001.

Weeks after campaign pledged answers, big questions about Melania Trump’s immigration status linger

... In early August, Trump pledged that his wife, Melania, a native of Slovenia, would hold a news conference explaining how she managed to navigate the onerous process of getting a green card. He made the pledge after a number of outlets raised questions about the timeline of her entry into the country.

... The promised news conference, though, hasn't yet happened.

Curious about the extent to which marrying an American citizen washed away any previous immigration problems, I reached out to David Leopold, an immigration attorney from Cleveland and former president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He explained that the popular understanding of how immigration is linked to marriage is wrong — but also noted a number of other questions worth asking about Melania Trump's arrival in the United States...
