Hillary Clinton leaves 9-11 event early, possibly due to feeling ill. Well this certainly won't help. Update!

Of course Fox News seems to have been the first to cover this:

The Democratic presidential nominee appeared to faint on her way into her van and had to be helped by her security, the source said. She was “clearly having some type of medical episode.”

"Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen," Clinton spokesperson Nick Merrill said in a statement. "During the ceremony, she felt overheated so departed to go to her daughter's apartment, and is feeling much better."

But a witness told Fox News that Clinton stumbled off the curb, her "knees buckled" and she lost a shoe as she was helped into a van during her "unexpected early departure."

But then other news outlets picked it up as well.

I don't know if she actually did stumble, or if she was simply tired from campaigning, or suffering from heat exhaustion like the campaign is now saying.

What I do know is that this feeds into an already existing meme by the Right Wing that Hillary is in poor health, and THAT is simply not a good thing.

Update: Okay here is some raw footage of Hillary leaving Chelsea's apartment.

I still think she needs to do a public appearance and address the issue.

Update 2: Not good!

US journalist Rick Levanthal of Fox News said: “She unexpectedly left early because of what appeared to be a medical episode."

When it finally rolled up my source said she stumbled off the curb, appeared to faint, lost one of her shoes, which wound up under the van...

Mr Levanthal said: "The protective detail helped her into the van and the van took off...

They grabbed her shoe, flagged down the rest of the motorcade and this was given to her protective detail. "

    Pictures please!

If this was true then all the news organizations would have videos and pictures.

This is 2016, everybody has a cellphone that can take pictures and videos of her shoes in the street and falling into her van.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump didn't get post-9/11 funds for helping people

Donald Trump’s tale about why he took $150,000 in 9/11 money is as tall as the Downtown skyscraper he says he used in recovery efforts, according to government records.

Though the billionaire presidential candidate has repeatedly suggested he got that money for helping others out after the attacks, documents obtained by the Daily News show that Trump’s account was just a huge lie.

"Trump had earlier gone to a charity in New Jersey — the Charles Evans Foundation, named for a deceased businessman — and asked for a donation. Trump said he was raising money for the Palm Beach Police Foundation.

The Evans Foundation said yes. In 2009 and 2010, it gave a total of $150,000 to the Donald J. Trump Foundation, a small charity that the Republican presidential nominee founded in 1987.

Then, Trump’s foundation turned around and made donations to the police group in South Florida. In those years, the Trump Foundation’s gifts totaled $150,000.

Trump had effectively turned the Evans Foundation’s gifts into his own gifts, without adding any money of his own.

On the night that he won the Palm Tree Award for his philanthropy, Trump may have actually made money. The gala was held at his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, and the police foundation paid to rent the room. It’s unclear how much was paid in 2010, but the police foundation reported in its tax filings that it rented Mar-a-Lago in 2014 for $276,463."

No one knows what actually was the cause. She could have food poisoning and felt bad.

Trump has been hammering on her being 'sick'.

If his team put together photos of him, they could 'prove' he is sick and how bad his health is.

I hope he doesn't have a stroke, unless it is on camera. He may not be able to get through the debates.

So people are falling for Trump version of things and 'hope she is able to get through the debates.

"Four new state polls out Sunday morning from NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist show that although Donald Trump leads in typically red Arizona and Georgia, they are up for grabs. And in typically close Nevada and New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton leads, but only by a razor-thin margin."

I doubt this 9/11 incident is going to register, nor will it make a difference. If it did, all of the illegal campaign contributions and dirty deals Donald has made that were just revealed would impact him.

I didn't see a stumble in that second video. Only saw her duck to get into a van.

The daily mail has an article on how emotional Hillary was at 9/11 in talking with first responders. She was livid about the White House (Bush) lying to people about the quality of the air. It would certainly be understandable if she became upset at the memorial, all of those memories flooding back. Plus the heat and all.

The new rule, which the Department of Health and Human Services proposed last week, says that states cannot withhold Title X federal family planning money from certain recipients for any reason other than the provider’s “ability to deliver services to program beneficiaries in an effective manner.” That means states can no longer vote to defund Planned Parenthood because some of its clinics offer abortion services. I can just imagine how the alt right will spin this. Hillary and any candidate go through physically brutal campaigns. It would be hard enough for a 60 year-old, but for a woman her age to take on that schedule, day in and day out, would weaken any one of us. Heat stroke, affects people as they get older, and that doesn't include them going through jet lag and gruelling traveling and campaigning, etc.

What this incident will do, however, is show the unpresidential true colors of Donald Trump. Expect him to go on a tweeting frenzy about this, or mention it at every turn. Most humane people won't tolerate him bad-mouthing her because she felt faint. He'll open those loose lips of his and make some disgusting remark. That may be the last straw for the undecideds.

Real people with real health struggles won't tolerate another Trump insult towards chronically-challenged adults. His boastful "I'm in perfect health" will finally dawn on the middle class and the middle aged that he's not the candidate who can feel the normal challenges of the little man.

Ignore The GOP Noise, Hillary Clinton Getting Overheated On 9/11 Doesn’t Matter

Republicans want voters to believe that Hillary Clinton getting overheated at a 9/11 ceremony is a big deal, but they couldn't be more wrong.

...Republicans are already ginning up the distraction machine to claim that Hillary Clinton getting overheated at a ceremony that according to those present was boiling hot, is a valid reason to disqualify her from being president.

This is simply another attempt by Republicans to distract from the fact that their nominee is unfit for office. Hillary Clinton’s health is not an issue. Donald Trump’s lack of positions on the issues, refusal to disclose information about his finances of health to the American people, frequent lies, and the investigations into Trump’s business practices are all valid issues.

The Hillary got overheated on 9/11 so she can’t be president crowd is trying to create a false equivalency to distract from the fact that there is only one candidate who is qualified to be president in this election, and that candidate is not Donald Trump.

Hydrating is extraordinarily important. Without enough H2O we simply buckle. Plain old water all day long, and sometimes a little salt in it can save many an ambulance trip, especially if you are doing a lot of talking.

Vasal-vagal response - pure and simple. Any perspiring ups the need for the "Water is life" regimen. Simple, simple, simple. Not enough volume in the body to keep the brain on track.

I know first hand, but learned my dizzy spells, buckling, were just not enough H2O. Hot days I drizzle a little salt in the water. Cured.

It may look worse than what more water for HRC would fix, but remember that is how she got her concussion - dehydrated and then she fell. Been there, know it is simply lack of fluid and someone needs to be "carrying" water for her all the time. NO joke!

Hydration is so important. For a number of years I worked in a very hot environment (food processing). I was always so concerned about my crew. Some had stationery jobs and some were heavy physical jobs. I bought large plastic containers and kept them filled with cold water. I always provided Gatorade to those who wanted it - the company would not provide it.
I do not doubt she neglects herself at times - and yet something so simple as always carrying a bottle of water is a good idea. She also needs to shed the jackets in hot weather - a loose cotton top that breathes would be better.

WATCH: Krystal Ball Hits Whiny Trump Supporter With Reality That ‘Deplorables’ Love His Campaign

When a Donald Trump minion whined about Hillary Clinton referring to Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables” Krystal Ball was there to destroy her with the truth.

During a face-off between Ball and Scottie Nell Hughes on CNN on Saturday, Hughes threw a hissy fit because Hillary dared to slam Trump’s racist hateful supporters and called her “desperate.”

The problem is that Trump’s supporters are exactly what Hillary called them. They are deplorable racists who have stooped to bottom of the barrel politics. They have called for killing or imprisoning Hillary and have committed violence against black people at Trump rallies all while disparaging Latinos and calling President Obama a terrorist.

And Krystal Ball had no sympathy for Hughes considering everything Trump supporters have said and done over the last year.

“To be honest with you, the truth hurts. I don’t know that it’s half of Trump supporters, but you can’t deny the fact that you’ve got the David Dukes of the world in his camp backing him strongly. You can’t deny the fact that if you go on white nationalist website Stormfront, they love their glorious leader Donald Trump. You can’t deny that when you go to his rallies you hear the N-word thrown around casually and Hillary Clinton referred to as the B-word.

So, he has tapped into this very ugly stream in America…I think it’s frankly important to point out the kind of company you’re keeping if you’re going to back somebody like Donald Trump.”

And Ball is right. Trump’s campaign is a sea full of racist bigots who hide under white sheets, think we should persecute Muslims, and think women should submit to the will of men.

In fact, polling data backs up Hillary Clinton’s remark.

Syncope, also known as fainting, is defined as a short loss of consciousness and muscle strength, characterized by a fast onset, short duration, and spontaneous recovery.

Orthostatic faints are most often associated with movement from lying or sitting to a standing position, standing up too quickly, or being in a very hot room. The classic example of a combination of these is seen in the frequent fainting by medical students in the operating theatre during observation of surgery.

I’ll give you a sense of Cheney’s rant in the Wall Street Journal published on September 9th, but the tl/dr version is wah wah Obama bad, Republicans great, everything is Obama’s fault, Obama weak, Obama helping enemies, etc. You’d think Obama wasn’t the guy who got bin Laden when Bush and Cheney couldn’t be bothered.

Primarily, why she was out in the extreme heat dressed heavily in layers and dark colors? She should have been in a light dress, perhaps wearing a hat to shade her, ditch the pant suit for once; a nicely tailored light colored linen coat-style dress can be just as professional and a nice big sun hat can look smashing.

I can imagine many of us would have become very heat-stressed dressed as she was in the hot city. Remember, the inner city asphalt jungle environment can be as much as 20 degrees hotter than areas with grass, so she was probably hanging around in 100+ degrees with too many dark clothes and no head covering. Add a little dehydration to that and boom, lot of folks would faint like a goat.

I imagine she was wearing dark colors as most would at a memorial for the dead.

She probably doesn't wear a hat because then her face is covered and the press can't get a good shot.

Yes, she should have at least dressed lightly, been in the shade, been hydrated, etc.

She also should have had a hanky to pull out and dab her eyes. That would have covered her need to leave. I think being distraught or emotional is a better excuse than heat exhaustion.

"Mr. Trump, with all due respect to you as the presidential nominee of the Republican Party, you cannot credibly serve as commander in chief if you embrace Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader has repeatedly shown himself to be an adversary of the United States. Putin, during his long tenure, has repeatedly pursued policies that undermine U.S. interests and those of our allies and partners. He has steadily but systematically moved Russia from a fledgling democratic state to an authoritarian one. He is the last foreign leader you should be praising."

"At the Commander-in-Chief forum on Wednesday, you said that as long as Putin says nice things about you, you will say nice things about him. That is not a standard on which a candidate, or a president, should make policy decisions. That should not even enter your calculus. Your only question should be, “What is in the best interests of the United States?”

So, here is our challenge: Demand that Putin stop his aggressive behavior overseas. Demand that he stop his dictatorial moves at home. Tell him that you will live up to our NATO commitments and defend the Baltics, if need be. Tell him that you want to work with him on solving the problems in the world — but that he must behave in order to do so. That is what a true commander in chief would do."

It was 82 with high humidity at the time of the ceremony at Ground Zero. Winds started about 11 a.m. and humidity is now down. However, in Manhattan there is residual heat from the pavement and buildings. So the feels-like temp was probably around 90. She should have worn something lighter and had a handler with an umbrella. If the media is really careful, it will check ambulance and fire logs to see how many other people had to be tended to.

On Trump. Ever notice how his plane is parked very close to his speaking venues. He always walks from behind a wall or curtain to get to the stage. Some enterprising soul should evaluate his videos for how many steps he takes on average.

Even if a person is disabled to some extent, and if (with accomodations) they can still perform well at their job they have a right to keep that job. We all know about Roosevelt and Reagan and I'm sure there are countless others whose condition we do not know fully of, but they had (seemingly)the brain to do the job. Of course we don't know the nature or cause of Hillary's condition but she could make a cause of it. (though I know that it's not likely to matter in these extreme times.)

I've fainted due to dehydration twice and I was a lot younger than Hillary. The first time, I was running a large special event in the heat of summer and too busy working to drink or eat. The second was at the end of a outdoor summer concert when I was standing still for an hour on risers in the sun. In both cases, I was fine after some rest and plenty of water.

Standing still in a concrete environment in the heat and humidity, especially while dressed in dark clothes, will dehydrate anyone, no less someone who's in the middle of a brutal national campaign.

She isn't feeling well, she wants to leave. She pulls out a hanky and brings it to her eyes and dabs. Then she tells her daughter or detail or whatever she isn't feeling well and wants to leave. As she leaves she clutches the hanky and periodically brings it to her eyes.

I don't get my news from fucking TWITTER.

Let's see how the major outlets report it.

As for whether it will hurt or not, here's what is gonna hurt:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/court-voter-id-block_us_57d460d9e4b03d2d459acac4?section=us_politics

"A U.S. Court of Appeals on Friday blocked an effort by Alabama, Georgia and Kansas for voters to furnish proof of citizenship when registering at the polls, which opponents say disenfranchises voters, especially minorities.

The decision effectively strikes down a rule that requires voters in the three states to provide proof they are United States citizens. Elsewhere, voters only need swear that they are citizens in order to cast a ballot."

"The Appeals Court of the District of Columbia said the League of Women Voters had shown there would be irreparable harm if the rule was permitted, and had also shown it was likely to win the case on its merits.

It ordered any voter applications filed since Jan. 29, 2016, to be treated as if they did not contain the proof of citizenship instructions.

Alabama and Georgia, which passed provisions several years ago, have not implemented their laws while at least 20,000 voters in Kansas, where the law took effect in 2013, have been blocked from registering to vote, the League’s lawyers say."

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/clinton-trump-battleground-polls_us_57d5536ce4b03d2d459ad24b?section=us_politics

"Four new state polls out Sunday morning from NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist show that although Donald Trump leads in typically red Arizona and Georgia, they are up for grabs. And in typically close Nevada and New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton leads, but only by a razor-thin margin.

All four state polls show the race within the margin of error."

I fainted once, at a graveside ceremony. It was hot -- mostly humid. It was about 50 yrs ago, and I managed to put in 50 more years without more fainting. Go Hillary.

  59. Its so amazing how the same people who feel Hillary Clinton is the criminal mastermind of all time and space, are now all giggly pleased to say she's also "frail."

It could happen to anyone, regardless of health...but you are right, this will be blown waaaaay out of proportion and Drumpf will make it a fucking yuuuuuuge issue.

      Also not good.
Who gets pneumonia in the summer, as active as she is, unless there is an underlying issue.
Im asking honestly. It's not like she is bedridden. She has been very active.

Most people recover from pneumonia. Take your faux concern elsewhere.

You can get viral or bacterial pneumonia any time of the year. Anyone can get pneumonia. Pneumonia isn't always a sign of an underlying health problem. People over 60 are more susceptible to pneumonia, thus the pneumonia vaccines we're supposed to get at 60.

Pneumonia isn't seasonal 2:40. And anyone can get it, without "underlying conditions".

      Nice try.

The stupid coming from some people. When is pneumonia and flu active? hmmmm? When school starts. And how do you catch it? Being around sick people. duh. She was exposed to the virus and had lost her voice days ago. Any one with school age kids going to school will be spreading it. So stay home and be thoughtful while sick.

The pneumonia was brought on by allergies, which we know about from that speech a bit ago when her voice was affected and she blamed Trump.

You can get pneumonia any time of the year.

How are most upper respiratory infections spread? By picking up the bacteria or viruses on your hands and transferring them to your face.

What does a politician do allllll day on the campaign trail? Shake hands.

No matter how often she might be washing her hands or using sanitizer, she is undoubtedly touching her face dozens of times every day and transferring those germs. Combine that with the lack of sleep, seasonal allergies, stress, and a constantly changing and exhausting schedule, and she's bound to come down with something.

I think that this is actually a good thing. Pneumonia is a familiar disease, easily treated in most cases, and something that she will recover from in a short period of time. It's far less serious than the conditions that most of the armchair doctors have been diagnosing her with.

I've been hearing that Trump's signs of dementia are increasingly worrisome to the GOP -- the flashes of anger, the word salads, the lack of self-control. All class signs of neurological impairment. Time for Trump to release his full medical records, so he can get ahead of this.

  62. What happened in isolation is not a big issue. The problem is that there has been an accumulation big incidents showing that she has some health issues. She's also not been out and about much the last month or so while Trump has very much been
It is likely that revealing her health issues will be more damaging than not which is why this hasn't been done.

No need for her to be out more. Media gives her one or two lines of an episode and Drumpf gets non-stop, day and night coverage, same clips again and again.

Methinks it has been advantageous to let Drumpf cook his own goose with such ridiculous exposure.

If Drumpf had a bigger vocabulary and stopped repeating the same words and sentences over and over and over there would be time for real news.

Actual news reporters on our stations? Just rude, bombastic, interrupting, shouting, ignorant "guests" from the alt-right, spewing Drumpf's lies for him.

Lazy, limp reporters except for Maddow, O'Donnell and Joy, and Kornacki. Others take the liars to task sometimes so want to give credit for any of them doing their job.

I don't think she wears "body armor". Maybe Kevlar lining in her jacket. Kevlar itself is not very heavy. It was rumored the coats the Obamas wore at the first inauguration were lined with kevlar.

I think it was a bad idea not to tell she'd been diagnosed with pneumonia until she had a problem.

Why do you think she is wearing those long jackets instead of her famous pantsuits? To accommodate body armor.

I don't know how with daily open calls for her death you can possibly imagine that she is not protected.

You either hate her or you're a very stupid person.

Pneumonia or walking pneumonia is not good. Not sky is falling bad either. It is something that will be treated. You can't even get a diagnosis for any of Donald Trump's afflictions. He thinks the whole deal about his medical status is a joke.

I doubt he would think he has mental health issues and go for the treatment he needs. I doubt if any health problem he has can be treated.

Part of her difficulty/awkwardness in the video was the way she was leaned against the post/barrier. Try this yourself: stand about a foot from a wall with your back to the wall and your feet about a foot apart. Lean back on the wall resting just your shoulders and upper back, not your butt. That's how she was leaning when the van rolls up. Hold your arms out like someone's holding your elbows, like people were doing to Hillary. Now try to stand straight away from the wall. It's awkward. It takes some core strength to do it without falling back. I'm not a Hillary fan, but I don't think this by itself is any worse than Poppy barfing in the Japanese prime minister's lap. I think she will have to explain more about her health though because the Repugs will be all over it that the flailing was a parkinsons freeze.

Dehydration, Heat, weeks of gruelling travel, changes in eating and sleeping habits, etc. etc. Give her a break, Fox had her coffin color picked out.
GHWBush threw up then fell on Japan's leader, George the second fell off a segway, "choked on a pretzel" after a night of drinking, Ford was always falling, and Nancy was always pulling the puppet strings when Saint Ronald Raygun was president.

I've seen it a lot with women in heels with bodyguards. When the bodyguards have to act they just pick a person up and run with them, often one heel comes off and naturally the guardee is unbalanced. I've never seen it happen with men in their wingtips, not ever. Not once. Not even close.
