More evidence that Donald Trump has no intention of conceding the election once he loses and may be fomenting an armed revolt.

Courtesy of the Boston Globe:

At a time when trust in government is at a low point, Trump is actively stoking fears that a core tenet of American democracy is also in peril: that you can trust what happens at the ballot box.

His supporters here said they plan to go to their local precincts to look for illegal immigrants who may attempt to vote. They are worried that Democrats will load up buses of minorities and take them to vote several times in different areas of the city. They’ve heard rumors that boxes of Clinton votes are already waiting somewhere.

And if Trump doesn’t win, some are even openly talking about violent rebellion and assassination, as fantastical and unhinged as that may seem.

“If she’s in office, I hope we can start a coup. She should be in prison or shot. That’s how I feel about it,” Dan Bowman, a 50-year-old contractor, said of Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee. “We’re going to have a revolution and take them out of office if that’s what it takes. There’s going to be a lot of bloodshed. But that’s what it’s going to take. . . . I would do whatever I can for my country.”

He then placed a Trump mask on his face and posed for pictures.

This is why the tendency to simply dismiss Donald Trump as a joke is a bad idea.

Sure the guy is a reality TV idiot with clown hair, tiny hands, and an overwhelming need to overcompensate for his obvious inadequacies.

But his supporters are the newly reinvigorated left over Palin-bots filled with righteous indignation and a desire to not have their dreams of a country driven into the ground by a megalomaniacal simpleton dashed once yet again.

Keep in mind that those people are heavily armed and prepared to drive their personal mobility scooters over to the White House and start a revolution.

I mean sure the oxygen tanks, obesity, and chronic stupidity will slow them down some, but still.....

And Trump is doing absolutely nothing to dissuade them from responding in that way either.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

Trump, despite the hopes of many Republicans, isn't going to simply disappear on Nov. 9. This is someone whose entire life has been in pursuit of an ever-bigger spotlight.

Trump now has the biggest spotlight in the world on him. He isn't the sort to willingly walk off the stage at the moment he has achieved what he's always wanted. And so, whether or not Trump actually believes the election is rigged against him (it's not!), he has several self-serving reasons to continue to push the idea to and through Election Day.

Trump, I think, has two options for his future in politics, assuming he loses this fall. The first is that he works to keep his bloc of voters together post-election and forms some sort of conservative alternative third party that aims to bash Republicans and Democrats in roughly equal measure. The other is that he starts a conservative media/broadcasting company in an attempt to monetize the loyalty his supporters have for him and the anti-elites, anti-party message he has been pushing throughout the campaign.

Neither of those options is served by acknowledging defeat at the hands of Clinton and shuffling off. Both are made more appealing — from a commercial perspective — by never conceding, by insisting that the race wasn't lost, it was taken.

Trump has shown that he is a master of grievance politics in this race. He now seems to be setting up the greatest grievance of all for the voters who support him: that their votes don't matter because Hillary Clinton and all of her media enablers have already determined the outcome of this election.

Oh yeah, 2017 is going to be a doozy of a year.

I just hope we all survive until 2018.

Her Women's Empowerment Brand At Stake, Ivanka Trump Set To Address Offensive Tape

...Ivanka will break her silence in the next few days, according to a source close to the 34-year-old. In a news interview, Donald Trump’s eldest daughter is expected to address the now-infamous recorded conversation of her father bragging to former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush of trying to have sex with a married woman, among other disturbing boasts.

How is Ivanka's chit chatter going to help her Dad's situation when the majority think incest is involved between the two of them?

She will have zero impact in gaining new voters to his side. He's already losing some of the voters he actually had...his crowds (that he thinks are so damned important!) are getting smaller!

He's going to become a huge 'loser' and he knows it!

Two weeks ago, Ohio looked to be Donald Trump’s best big-state bet. The Republican rank-and-file appeared to be getting on board and the state seemed to be fading out of reach for Hillary Clinton.

    All that’s changed.

And even if do register and vote...

    Election Hackers Could Erase You

Cyber intruders could manipulate voter registration files and wreak havoc on Election Day. The FBI, Homeland Security, and states are preparing to keep the worst from happening.

...But it’s not vote rigging or the takeover of electronic voting booths that has officials most concerned. There is no master switch that hackers could use to turn off voting systems in every state. And even in states that use electronic voting booths, paper backups could help combat any malicious tampering with the final count.

Rather, officials are more concerned by the discovery in recent weeks that hackers, including ones believed to be working for the Russian government, are trying to access voter registration files, perhaps to alter or delete them, in more than 20 states. Every state is required to keep a centralized—and computerized—master list of who is eligible to vote. If the state cannot verify that someone really is registered, his vote might not count.

"The real concern is not that your vote will be hacked, which is harder to do, it’s that your voter registration files may be hacked, and as a result, you will be deprived the right to vote,” David Heyman, a former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, told The Daily Beast.

I can't speak for every state, but, here in Virginia, each local registrar has a paper list of registered voters in his/her municipality.

It would be a pain in the ass to use a paper pollbook on election day but that's what we did before the advent of electronic pollbooks. In fact, we issue a paper pollbook to each precinct just in case.

The odds for Democratic takeover of the House may be better than we think.

This has to give Republicans some agitation.

Analysts have been saying for a while now that the “generic” ballot has to favor Democrats by about 7 or 8 points for them to have a chance to accomplish the unthinkable, and re-take the House, making Nancy Pelosi once more the Speaker. In other words, voters have to favor Democrats nationally by about 7 or 8 percent in order for Democrats to overcome Republican gerrymandering and win an actual majority of House seats.

Well, a recent NBC/WSJ poll shows Democrats with a 7-point lead in the generic ballot. Voters prefer Democratic control of Congress to Republican control by 47 to 42 percent. Much can happen between now and election day, of course. But this has to be worrying.

Like this one I just read.

"I was working one event that had several senators and needless to say some of them can drink. One senator in particular was really knocking back some Makers Mark and was getting a bit rowdy. You could tell people were getting uncomfortable with his behavior, but it wasn't until he slapped one of the servers on the ass that I had to come out from behind my bar (which is a huge no-no in the business) grab the drink out of his hand and sternly say, 'no more!' You could tell he was emasculated and behaved himself after that."

That bastard making fun of me in front of all my peers
Those people think I own this town, you’re stripping all my gears
Well guess what Mr. President, I’ll be seeing you
    In four years

Though on the campaign trail the papers paint me like a clown
Still all I see are crowds who want to fit me for a crown
I point out all my enemies just so my fans
    Bring them down

Isn’t anybody going to stop me?
    I don’t want this job
I don’t want this job, my god
    Can’t you tell
    I’m unwell

You try to pin me down but you don’t really try that hard
I throw out any shit I want and no one trumps that card
So dazzled and distracted by your fantasy
    Of Hildegard

Isn’t anybody going to stop me?
    I don’t want this job
I don’t want this job, my god
    Can’t you tell
    I’m unwell

You ask about my plan but baby my plan is to win
I wind up all the tops and watch the others keep the spin
You handing me grenades is just compelling me
    To pull the pin

Isn’t anybody going to stop me?

After sitting in the office for two hours and watching four people come in and cast absentee ballots, they left, promising to come back and check.

Two Democrats report being confronted by local rednecks about the Clinton-Kaine signs in their (the Democrats') lawns.

I've had another ugly confrontation in the hardware store parking lot when a Trumpista approached me, fuming about my "Clinton-Kaine" bumper sticker, threatening "revolution" if Hillary wins. He really got pissed when I laughed at him.

Washington (CNN)As Donald Trump faces mounting accusations of sexual misconduct this week, the most important woman in his inner circle, his wife Melania, has been silent.

Experts in crisis management say if there ever was a time for her to speak given her unique role in Trump's life, it would be now, as her husband faces new claims this week of sexual improprieties and groping, which he has denied.
"The first rule of crisis communication when you're in a crisis like this -- allegations of infidelity -- is, the spouse has to be there, standing by their husband or wife," said crisis communications consultant Richard Levick. One thing about that "media empire":
Who says cable or satellite companies have to carry that channel, or any channel?

    Washington Post:
“I think Trump is right: The shackles have been released, but they were the shackles of reality,” said Mike Murphy, a veteran GOP strategist. “Trump has now shifted to a mode of complete egomaniacal self-indulgence. If he’s going to go off with these merry alt-right pranksters and only talk to people who vote Republican no matter what, he’s going to lose the election substantially.”

I'd like to know exactly what Trump said in North Carolina to instigate the bombing of an RNC headquarters. Because you know he said something to push someone over the edge.

Of course, he's blaming Hillary and the Democrats despite the fact there is no evidence of it.

Some people are saying it's a Rove playbook thing and the Republicans did it to themselves just to make the Democrats look evil. I've read it on the internet. I don't know. You tell me?
