Democrats use old KKK law to sue Donald Trump campaign over voter intimidation. Update!

Source
Courtesy of Think Progress:

After a wave of reports from battleground states of voter intimidation and voter suppression, the Democratic Party is taking legal action.

The party filed lawsuits on Monday against Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican Parties of Ohio, Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. The federal suits also name Trump ally Roger Stone, who through his “Stop the Steal” super PAC is recruiting volunteers to patrol hundreds of voting precincts in Democratic-leaning cities with large minority populations.

The lawsuits accuse Trump, Stone, and the GOP of violating both the Voting Rights Act and the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act by “conspiring to threaten, intimidate, and thereby prevent minority voters in urban neighborhoods from voting in the 2016 election.”

“Trump’s calls for unlawful intimidation have grown louder and louder, and the conspiracy to harass and threaten voters on Election Day has already resulted in numerous acts that threaten to interfere with the voting rights of registered…voters,” the lawsuit says. “Untold numbers of…voters will suffer irreparable harm if the right to vote is imperiled by the same forms of virulent harassment that federal law has prohibited since shortly after the Civil War.”

You know it somehow seems perfect that the Democrats are using an old law to protect voters from the Klu Klux Klan to now protect voters from the Trump campaign.

Assuming there's a difference of course.

As I have said before any political party, or campaign, that resorts to voter suppression and intimidation to come out on top does not deserve to win anything.

REAL Americans want everybody to vote and respect the outcome of elections even if their candidate does not emerge victorious.

Update: A little more news on this front courtesy of Politico:

A federal judge is ordering the Republican National Committee to detail any agreements it has with Donald Trump's campaign to engage in "ballot security" efforts in connection with next week's election — something the national GOP has been banned from doing for decades without court approval.

The order also instructs the RNC to explain by 5 p.m. Tuesday what Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence were talking about in recent comments when they said that Trump's campaign was working closely with the RNC to make sure there is no fraud at the polls.

Oh you can bet the farm that the RNC does NOT want to comply with this order.

I detest racist Donald Trump and the Republican party!

American voters would be nuts to vote for Trump or 'any' Republican in the upcoming election (that are candidates for reelection in the U.S. Congress or state Legislatures throughout the country!).

Hopefully, the majority voters in our country are paying attention and all the blacks, browns and other minority voters come out in droves on 11/8/16!

Vote for Hillary Clinton as our next POTUS. She is NOT the evil and disliked woman the Republican party and media have been portraying for the past year!

I know. It's pathetic. Everything that is superior about Hillary and inferior about Trump is plain as day, but so many idiots have such a short attention span and many just accept that he has said he won't show his taxes, that he's swindled people and put small family businesses out of business and he loves to force average people to go bankrupt litigating, that he's assaulted women, etc. Without yet another debate to remind people that intelligence matters and some big bombshell to out-bombshell the last bombshell, the idiots are just going to vote for him. These are people who, the day after someone raped their daughter, would invite the rapist in to watch a game and have a beer. But if someone even accidentally let a flag touch the ground for a second, that would never be forgotten and forgiven. I cringe at how full of ignoramuses this country is.

I saw a poll claiming Trump was now ahead of Hillary.

It turned out to be an "enthusiasm" poll- a poll about 'feelings'. At the end the article mentioned that Hillary was still substantially ahead in real VOTING polls.

Katy Tur tweeted the stupid misleading 'enthusiasm' poll without comment, so I gave her a serve for it. At this point in the game if you're not tweeting facts you should just say the fuck so.

I just saw a ABC poll Trump 46% Clinton 45%, but they stated she is still ahead in the electoral college.

How is this race even close?

And any examples of voter fraud we've been hearing about has involved Republican voters.
Anyone who votes for Trump now is scum. Utter trash.

They'll just deny it with a straight face. Because it isn't an organized effort by the RNC.

It's an organized effort by Stone, Steal the Vote and Voter Protection. They're free agents acting on their own.

      Proof?

      http://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/dems-accuse-rnc-of-lying-about-having-poll-watchers-in-nevada

"Another affidavit, given by a California attorney named Michael Lieberman, also recounts meeting a Kishanna Holland while they were both observing the Arroyo Market Square polling place. Holland first introduced herself as an independent observer, but as their conversations throughout the day revealed her conservative leanings, Holland admitted to working for the RNC, according to the affidavit, and told Lieberman that an RNC memo had instructed her to lie about her affiliation."

How about the hundreds of ordinary citizens that have been directly harassed, hacked, privacy and security threatened by don and criminals? Maybe a class action is in order for families that feel that don has caused harm to them in the last 2yrs of this election mess. That nasty dirty man is at the end of his lousy game. Sell his chit and pay his victims. So many crimes against hundreds of innocent americans that were hacked and set up as revenge by don and his crime foundation. Arrest him and his paid thugs. And get them off the United States Taxpayer Streets and Roads. No American should tolerate a pathologic liar and criminal on USA soil running as a candidate for President of the United States of America.

I'm loving the Democrats this year, they're fighting on all fronts: lawsuits are flying thick and fast, Tim Kaine almost punched out Mike Pence their debate, Nasty Hillary wiped the floor with Trump three times.... the progressive base is fired up and ready to go... the Democratic campaigns have funds... I feel good.

I hope that knocks the smirk off of that twatwaffle CONway. She has to be a sociopath to lie like she does. She was knocking Hillary for letting people Boo Comey at a rally. The night before one of tRumps supporters wished HRC dead! All the while some insane racist was looking at the press pen and shouting Jew S A. The press are in danger from the lunatics that support tRump and have to have SS protection to get to their vehicles. Wolf Blitzer actually asked twatwaffle to speak to trump about the danger he puts journalists in as he fears for their safety. I may hate her more than tRump. How she looks her kids in the face (as she is always bringing up she is the mother of 4 young children) after spending the day lying and defending the indefensible tRump is mind boggling.

I was channelsurfing and couldn't find hide nor hair of Kellyanne Conway, and you'd think she'd be the leader of the happy dance parade, so she was hiding from the media. Can we find a way to make it stop? Can't stand looking at her smug mug and polyester hair.

Conway's physical appearance has really deteriorated since she started working w/Trump.

I'm sure she is suppose to be paid well, but I'll wager if and when Trump loses the race, she'll never see the money!

Trump will not like being a 'loser' and she will be blamed along w/a few others - although not his family members!!

We were taught in elementary school boys and men should remove their hats when entering a building.

I swear these bubbas must sleep in their hats.

The Republicans (like Donald Trump, etc.) are really going to be pissed when ALL voting is done via the mail.

I have voted Absentee for a number of years now (have a disability) and find it so much easier.

All you have to do 'first' is apply to be able to vote Absentee (via their specific form) used by your particular state.

Once they've received that, the next thing you'll receive, via the mail, is your ballot and envelopes to return it.

You then cast your vote(s) on the ballot, put the completed ballot in the envelope, get someone to witness your signature on the outside of the envelope - with the date - put postage on the envelop and drop it in the mail.

It is so much more convenient.

    There's more.

Stone was involved in the original 1981 law that monitored the Republicans.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/roger-stone-donald-trump-ballot-security_us_5818f6a1e4b0f96eba966f03?section=us_politics

"Roger Stone, the political trickster who is organizing thousands of Donald Trump supporters to monitor polls on election day, was the chief strategist for a 1981 New Jersey gubernatorial campaign that benefited from a similar “ballot security” effort. "
