Irish lawmaker comes right out and calls Donald Trump a fascist. If only our politicians had such courage.

Courtesy of The Irish Times:

In the speech delivered in the Seanad on November 10th, the former equality minister and now senator Mr Ó Riordáin described Mr Trump as a fascist and said he was “embarrassed” by the Irish Government’s reaction to the election result.

“I can’t believe the reaction from An Taoiseach and from the Government and I don’t use the word fascist lightly but what else would you call somebody who threatens to imprison his political opponents?

“The best we come out with is a phone call to say is it still okay to bring the shamrock”, he added, referring to a phone call Taoiseach Enda Kenny had with Mr Trump in the wake of his victory in which Mr Trump confirmed the annual St Patrick’s Day ceremony in the White House would continue.

This may have first come out on November 10th, but I did not see it until today.

And once I did I knew I had to share it here with all of you.

Mr Ó Riordáin makes an important point, and that is that pretending Donald Trump is anything other than an American version of a third world fascist dictator, while attempting to interact with him as if he is the slightest bit reasonable or driven by anything other than ego and the desire to control and dominate all that he sees, is a fool's game.

And a game which will blow up in our face and cause incalculable damage to our country.

And lest we forget this white nationalist movement is not just happening here in the United States, it is spreading throughout Europe as well, and many of their members are inspired by the successful election of one of their own to such an important and powerful position.

In the 1930's and 40's Americans knew what to do with megalomaniacs like this, we crushed them and dismantled their organizations.

Have we so soon forgotten what it was that first made us great in the eyes of the world?

    OT? Quote from FB>
    Jim Wright"Draining the Swamp(?)
2012: The Florida Attorney General's office received at least 22 fraud complaints about Trump University.
2013: The Florida Attorney General, Pam Bondi, announced her office was looking into joining a class action lawsuit against Donald Trump for tax fraud with regards to Trump University.
Four days after the announcement, *And Justice For All* (a SuperPAC supporting Bondi's reelection campaign) received a $25,000 donation from the Donald J. Trump Foundation.
A day later, Pam Bondi announced Florida would not be joining the lawsuit after all.
2016: Citizen for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a complaint with the IRS, alleging that the donation was a violation of Federal Tax Law. The Trump Foundation responded by saying the donation was made in error -- despite the fact investigators discovered Bondi herself had solicited the donation personally, had endorsed Trump for President, and made repeated public claims she and Donald Trump had been friends "for many years."
The state had no choice but look into the matter.
2016: September: Investigators concluded the donation had indeed violated laws regarding political contributions from nonprofits such as the Donald J. Trump Foundation. Trump was forced to reimburse the foundation from his own money and pay a penalty to the IRS in the form of an excise tax.
2016: November 8th. Donald Trump is elected 45th President of the United States of America. He lost the popular vote, but won the Electoral College. There are 19 Electors from the State of Florida, all cast their vote for Donald Trump.
Pam Bondi, as it happens, is one of those electors.
2016: November 20th. Pam Bondi joins the Donald Trump Presidential Transition Team.
Tell me again about that swamp.
Because I fucking love that joke so hard."

ISIS isn't the problem in the US either, it is the White Supremacist and their militias.

I wonder if the FBI is monitoring all these groups, now that they have taken off their hoods? Or are they just monitoring "liberals"?

I like this guy. He tells it like it is. America just elected a fascist, a monster.
I remember when people would say, what happened in the 1930's in Germany could not/would not ever happen in America. I use to tell them they were wrong, that it could happen here in America, and it just did.

Actually it took the USA a number of years to get into WWII and we sat by and did nothing about the concentration camps until they were well under way.

The American White Nationalists, KKK, the Alt-Rights and inbreds needs to explain themselves. They want to make America pure but the president elect is born to parents of immigrants, the White House will be occupied by a 100% foreign Czechoslovakian First Lady and the country is being controlled by 1/2 Czech kids. These people are owners of businesses that puts food on foreign tables, feeds foreign families, employs foreign workers in foreign countries and improves foreign economies and is helping a country governed by the Communist Party of China who would like to see our country blown off the face of this planet. This will be the first president who is the puppet of the Russian Federation, a country governed by a former KGB officer who also would like to see our country blown off the face of this planet. How funny your elected official wants to get rid of immigrants and wants to blame foreign countries for taking your jobs while it will be your new First family that is giving away jobs you Americans are desperately looking for.

I didn't want to say this, because I do feel badly Hillary lost, but I ca vouch for the story that she became violent when she realized she lost. This is not new. And it's not fair to criticize because lots of men are the same.

I agree with 7:44. American minority children and adults are more afraid of Trump's white racist deplorables than of ISIS. ISIS never singled out American minorities.

The FBI is infected with them as this last election proved. Why else would the director throw the election for the person who is supported by them?

    "1. Louisiana Senate Race

Why should I care? Currently the Senate is sitting at 51-48. The missing seat belongs to Louisiana who has a special run off in December between its two top candidates. A win here for Democrats would not tie the house, but it would mean one less seat we need to win in what is looking like a tough 2018 for Democrats (There are 23 Democrat seats up for re-election, and only 8 Republican seats). If we want any hope of getting back a lead in two years, it starts now with Louisiana.

Who are the players? Foster Campbell (D); John Kennedy (R)

How to help? Reach out and volunteer, or donate to Foster Campbell’s campaign. There are just over 3 weeks left until this election, and he needs every bit of help he can get in this uphill battle."

    "2. Supreme Court Vacancy

Why should I care? The average tenure of a modern Supreme Court justice is 26 years and growing. Whomever is appointed will likely still be making decisions during the 2044 elections. This impacts past social progress as well as any future challenges to our freedoms. There is no other issue with more significant long term implications on the table at the moment."

    "3. Democratic National Committee

Why should I care? Democrats can argue all day about how much of an impact the actions of Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Donna Brazile had on the Primary and in turn the General Elections, but it won’t accomplish a damn thing. Regardless, we can all agree that it was not handled appropriately, and that trust for the party is at an all-time low. This needs to be addressed, and it needs to be done in a public way with the entire party feeling as if they are included. "
