President Obama meets with six year old boy who wrote to him offering help to Syrian boy in iconic photograph.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

An adorable six-year-old boy has met President Obama in the White House after a letter he wrote offering to help and befriend a young Syrian refugee boy went viral.

Alex Myteberi, dressed in a dapper new suit, was wide-eyed as he shook hands with Obama for the first time in the Oval Office last week.

The young boy wrote a letter to Obama in August asking the President if a five-year-old Syrian boy affected by the civil war could come and live with his family in Edgemont, New York.

'I liked what you wrote so much that I ended up reading it to everybody. You being so nice, and kind, hopefully makes other people think the same way. So I was very proud of you,' Obama told the excited six-year-old boy.

This was the picture that made little Alex Myteberi write to the President offering his home to the boy and to be his new brother.

I don't know about all of you but I needed a story like this to end my day.

Some days just drain you, and this was one of them.

And then when I think of what happens in January......well let's just say I need as many of these reminders of how wonderful our President is that I can get until then.

Over 100 little boys and girls much like the one in the photo have died since this incident.

Obama is supporting the insurgents, the rebels, Trump wants to turn that around and support the Assad government.

I personally think that America should get the hell out of there and let this country fight their own civil/religious war. Even if Russia is there it doesn't mean that we need to be.

Photos like this are sad, but there is a lot of sadness in war-torn countries. If there would have been more advanced photography during our own Civil War you'd have seen countless photos such as this one, photos of little confederate and yankee kids, innocent casualties of the adults in charge being unable to settle their differences without bloodshed.

In the Civil War, it would have been common to see boys not much older than this one fighting for the South.

Ok. I fear the nightmare scenario. But remember that trump was a democrat. And he may just be the democrat Trojan horse against the current hateful republicans which will try to impeach him. We can expect 4 yrs of hearings, resignations, committees, lawsuits and taxation without representation.

Hopefully, the asshole will be impeached before the first term ends. He is NOT my potus! I fear his dictatorship and so should our entire country.

Trump is in it to make more money for himself as well as satisfy his ego.

My fantasy is trump breaks down, sends a tweet to Hillary, crying he can't take any more, then he requests the electoral college vote for her.

Who knows stranger things have happened like the traitor winning the rigged election to begin with.

    3. Sorry, Trump is a Trump.

He was a Republican and then a Democrat and then an Independent and then a Republican again.

He blows whichever way the wind is profitable.

That's it. Money and himself. Those are his priorities, not necessarily in that order.

He was not a Democrat. He always and always will be a Trumplican.

Sweet, sweet, sweet! A six-year old with that much love and concern....makes my heart swell.

We have the best POTUS and thank God we see how his love, respect and kindness to others has been provided around the world! He is a wonderful example of, and for, America.

I so hope he and Michelle return to Alaska this summer....they would receive a very warm welcome from many of us AGAIN!

Yes, he is the best POTUS. I don't want to lose him from public life for more than a week. Nor Michelle. Nor Joe.

Too bad they printed the little boys name and hometown.

Knowing the swamp dwellers, they are going to bombard his family with hate mail and threats.

Some days I try to channel the spirit of Ann Frank that there are more good people than bad. After this election I have doubt about human decency.

Anon at 7:53 pm. That little boy and his family are "good people." President Obama and those who have worked with him over the past eight years are also "good people." If we continue to believe that the trajectory of history is forward then we know that we will continue in that direction despite the obstacles that block our paths at times.

If President Obama must leave, could we trade trump for this insightful, kind child?

Putin has finally finished off every single field hospital in Aleppo, bombed every one of them to smithereens-

and all the babies in them.

You are an evil fuck, Donald Trump.

Thank you for that, Gryphen. I saw it this morning just after seeing the front page of the NYTimes and seeing the headline where Trump took to YouTube to address the nation? His followers? He's promising jobs and wealth. I'm surprised they didn't have gold coins pouring from his mouth. Is he promising some sort of pyramid scheme, like Amway?

Like so many others, I believe that we have been blessed to have President Obama as our leader for the past eight years. We will all miss him so much.

And no discussion of Obama's hand in the Syrian quagmire resulting in so much civilian disaster? Can you say hypocrite?

Oh, but he can invite a little boy that writes cute letters to the WH for a photo op, so alls good.

Right, we'll have your suggestions on what the US could have done, thank you. We'll all be delighted to have the benefit of your troll genius.
