Federal judge orders release of FBI search warrant to search Huma Abedin's e-mails. Update!

Courtesy of Fox News:

A federal judge on Monday ordered the release of the search warrant the FBI used to reopen their probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server days before the November election.

U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel ruled Monday morning that the public had a right to see the warrant, which he said was secretly filed with the court on Oct. 30.

“The search warrant, the application for the search warrant, the affidavit in support of the application for the search warrant, and the search warrant return will be unsealed and posted on the Court's electronic case filing system” subject to redactions, Castel said in his order.

The court dispute concerns the warrant agents used to get access to emails stored on a computer belonging to Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

The Justice Department could block this order if they choose, but if not we might actually find out what excuse the FBI came up with to hijack our election.

And that is a question which I really think deserves a damn answer.

Update: Okay so now we have our damn answer. And that answer appears to be that there was no reason for the warrant.

That is the Facebook page of the California defense attorney who filed the lawsuit to gain access to this warrant.

A warrant that he claims shows no probable cause.

If he is accurate it would appear that the Clintons have fairly good lawsuit on their hands, and I think a criminal investigation of James Comey is in order as well.

However, I and many like me, do not think it is JUST a pic of Lady Liberty covering her face.

It is how so many of us feel right now.

      Excellent graphic

Kind of reminds me of the editorial drawings from right after 9/11 of the statue crying, representing the sense of pain we all felt then.

I'm tired of hearing about Trump's Russian connections and his cabinet's Russian connections.

The Electoral College was our last chance of keeping Russia out of our presidency.

Now we're depending on Congress to keep Russia out of Trump's administration.

Rex Tillerson, the ExxonMobil chieftain nominated by Donald Trump to be Secretary of State, was a director of an offshore company in the Bahamas that is at the heart of Exxon’s close business dealings with Russia....

But don't hold your breath... A) Hillary, for whatever reason, seems to have given up the night of the election and has not fought anything anywhere (no recounts, etc), and B) With the ReThugs controlling all three branches of gubmint and influencing judges left and right... :/

Makes you wonder if Hillary really wanted to win this or not. She's not putting up ANY fight for her people, she just rolled over and played dead. She doomed herself to begin with by not taking on Elizabeth Warren for VP instead of Mr Milktoast, but then again it was always ALL about Little Miss Hillary and never about anything else. Why not just have the family friend be VP since they were abviously not serious about winning or standing up for what's right anyway.

Just because Hillary hasn’t been seen “doing anything” doesn’t mean she isn’t working in the background. Sometimes it is better to have all your ducks in a row before going public especially with such serious complex issues.

But from your comment, it really doesn’t matter, your motive was just to complain about Hillary anyway.

"The warrant connected to the FBI search that Hillary Clinton says cost her the election shouldn’t have been granted, three legal experts who reviewed the document released on Tuesday told The Huffington Post."

"When Comey made the announcement, the bureau did not have a warrant to search a laptop that agents believed might contain evidence of criminal activity. The FBI set out to rectify that two days later, on Oct. 30, when agents applied for a warrant to search the laptop, which was already in the FBI’s possession. The FBI had seized the computer as part of an investigation into former Rep. Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

The unsealed warrant “reveals Comey’s intrusion on the election was as utterly unjustified as we suspected at time,” Brian Fallon, a Clinton campaign spokesman, said on Twitter Tuesday."

“The warrant application seems to reflect a belief that any email sent by Hillary Clinton from a private email server is probably evidence of a crime,” Katkin said. “If so, then it must be seen as a partisan political act, rather than a legitimate law enforcement action.”

"Clark Cunningham, the W. Lee Burge chair in law and ethics at Georgia State University, said that the “warrant violates the 4th Amendment.”"

The name of the agent in charge had been redacted in the copy of the document publicly released. It better come out in the investigation. Charge the asshole with sedition. Cut a deal if he squeals on his fellow conspirators, names names and testifies that they conspired to torpedo Clinton's campaign and make sure she didn't win the election.

A memo obtained by Foreign Policy magazine details the incoming Trump administration's priorities for the Department of Defense. Conspicuously missing from the list was Russia.

    Foreign Policy reported:
A Pentagon memo outlining the incoming Trump administration’s top “defense priorities” identifies defeating the Islamic State, eliminating budget caps, developing a new cyber strategy, and finding greater efficiencies as the president-elect’s primary concerns. But the memo, obtained by Foreign Policy, does not include any mention of Russia, which has been identified by senior military officials as the No. 1 threat to the United States.

Now that Donald Trump is President, Alec Baldwin Feels ‘Obligated’ to Dial Up His Impression

...Some of that includes a wig, and some makeup, which takes all of seven minutes to put on. Most of it, however, is Baldwin himself- his movements, his expressions, his gestures, and everything else he does that makes the Trump caricature come to life on screen.

Baldwin says that the most important thing he does to “be” the Donald is what he calls “puffs.” These are the pauses in Trump’s speech. “I see a guy who seems to pause and dig for the more precise and better language he wants to use, and never finds it… It’s the same dish — it’s a grilled-cheese sandwich rhetorically over and over again.” It also includes the “wax on, wax off” movements he does with his hands, his “puckered lips,” and his “studied lumbering gait.”

As it stands, it’s “dialed up” enough to make the President-Elect angry.

Many of these chats involve Obama’s effort to school the developer/con man on the basics of his important new job, including the fact that the vice president will take over should anything untoward happen to him in the next four years. When Obama gently explains that the veep is constitutionally first in the line of succession, a whiny voice breaks in from the background, revealing that Ivanka herself nurtures an overwhelming, Evita-like ambition.

Not long ago, Americans learned that the average life expectancy for white people in this country — those most likely to have voted for Donald Trump — actually declined for the first time in many years. The pathologies and frustrations believed to have driven that decline may have motivated the tiny handful of votes that gave Trump his Electoral College victory.

But not long after their euphoria over his inauguration fades, they are going to learn why his administration is so likely to drive those statistics in the wrong direction. Despite his promise to protect Social Security and Medicare — and his vow to replace the Affordable Care Act with “something much better” — Trump’s cabinet appointees and his allies in Congress plan ruinous changes to those programs. And that will mean ruin, and in thousands of cases death, for the mostly white and working class people who depend so heavily on them.

Unless the Republicans come up with a plausible bill to replace Obamacare, which has eluded them since 2009, millions of their constituents will lose the health insurance they have only recently gained — and yes, thousands of those people will die next year.

Probable Cause section starts at the bottom of page 12 through the top of page 16. An excerpt:

"There is probable cause to believe that the Subject Laptop contains evidence, contraband, fruits, and/or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 793 (e) and (f)," an FBI agent wrote, citing a felony Espionage Act provisions for illegal possessions of classified information.

The records suggest Fox may have granted the warrant based exclusively on the FBI's contention that in the earlier phase of the Clinton email investigation, "many emails" between Clinton and Abedin contained classified information, therefore emails between the pair from that same time period and suddenly discovered on Weiner's laptop were likely to also contain classified information and be evidence of a crime.

"Given the information that there are thousands of [redacted] emails located on the Subject Laptop—including emails, during and around [redacted] from [redacted] account as well as a [redacted] account appearing to belong to [redacted]—and the regular emails correspondence between [redacted] and Clinton, there is probably cause to believe the subject contains correspondence between [redacted] and Clinton [redacted,]" wrote the FBI agent, whose named was deleted from the records made public Tuesday.

"Because it has been determined by relevant original classification authorities that many emails were exchanged between [redacted] using [redacted] and/or [redacted] accounts, and Clinton that contained classified information, there is also probable cause to believe that the correspondence between them located on the Subject Laptop contains classified information which was produced by and is owned by the U.S. Government. The Subject Laptop was never authorized for the storage or transmission of classified or national defense information."

Or, imagine a transition under Hillary Clinton. Nominations full of responsible, experienced people; plans for programs to help all Americans. No war mongering, no refusing to participate in security briefings. Her transition would be much like one under President Obama - both of them understand how government works, how world affairs work, and both of them care about the American people and our country's future. World of difference between either of their scenarios and the reality of what's going on in Trumpland.

Paul Krugman issued a scathing critique of Donald Trump’s economic team in a series of tweets this morning:

“Are people noticing that the Trump economic team is shaping up as a gathering of gold bugs? Treasury goes to a guy with little public profile, but hangs out with John Paulson (who is also close to Trump). And Paulson has been predicting inflation — sometimes double-digit — from Fed policy for years. Budget director appears to be John Bircher and conspiracy theorist (but aren’t they all? But note economic views. Birchers want return to gold and silver, Mulvaney seems to agree. In this crew, Kudlow — who thinks it’s always the 1970s, but doesn’t seem to see hyperinflation under his bed — is the most reasonable.”

Scary to think that Kudlow, who warned us all was well and laughed off what he derisively called “bubbleheads” on the eve of the crash of 2008, is “the most reasonable” of the bunch in Krugman’s estimation.

Then Krugman added as an afterthought,

Comey's letter to Congress was BEFORE he obtained this warrant.

Starting this process only a little more than a week before the election is something that is traditionally considered off limits.

And of course there was NOTHING on the laptop to warrant any of this, so that proves Comey was acting in bad faith.
