This is why you cannot count on the Republicans lawmakers to rein Trump in at all.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

Politico ran a story this morning about the online abuse Representative Bill Flores suffered after Breitbart and a smaller right-wing blog twisted his words about Trump. He said that some of Trump’s policies might not align with the party’s values but he was sure they could work together. That somehow became a headline that read, “BREAKING: Rep. Bill Flores Has CRAFTED a PLAN to BLOCK Trump’s Immigration Reform.”

Before releasing that particular post, a blogger reached out to Flores and advised him to get ready “for a shit storm,” which is exactly what came his way. Sean Hannity signal-boosted the Breitbart report by giving it air time on his radio show and soon, Flores was under attack online.

Now, Republicans on the Hill don’t want to be the next to get pounced on, so they’re staying quiet about any misgivings or questions they have regarding Trump. Politico pointed out that by tearing into someone online, the trolls are taking a cue from the President-elect himself.

I mentioned earlier how the National Enquirer was Trump's propaganda outlet with the national reach, but he also has attack media at his disposal.

I think we all saw this in its infancy back in Sarah Palin's heyday when all she had to do was write a Facebook post and her flying monkeys went after Joe McGinniss and even members of his family with stunning aggression.

However that assault weapon has now been honed to a razor's edge, and Trump has even gone so far as to put one of its triggers into his administration in form of Stephen Bannon.

So no, there are few Republican lawmakers who are going to dare challenge Trump no matter how insane his policy proposals might seem, because they realize to do so is to risk the wrath of Breitbart, Fox News, and numerous other Right Wing news outlets.

There may be a few such as Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Rand Paul who will rise to the challenge, but without greater numbers their attempts will be largely ineffective.

That also means that talk of an impending impeachment are essentially just pipe dreams as well.

The minute that a Republican lawmaker suggested anything like that he would be crushed under a deluge of bad press, his e-mail box would fill with misspelled threats on his life, and his career would essentially be over in Washington.

Trump once bragged that he could shoot a man on fifth avenue and not lose any support, and now that may hold true concerning the presidency as well.

In short this next four years is going to suck, and they are going to suck hard.

Your comments about Sarah and her flying monkeys is why I want to scream every time someone says "Palin is a thing of the past, no one cares, yada yada yada.
Without Palin, we would not be in as much of this shit storm. if she had been marginalized at the outset....a different outcome.
But, no. No one outed her.
    Shame on everyone who didn't

    1. Anonymous8:34 AM

I believe the same and a lot of others do too. This is large scale bullying and they tried it with Sarah first to see if it gained traction. The only way to deal with bullies is to stand up to them!! We the people can do it with our vote but journalists should be doing it NOW!

  2. Anonymous6:27 AM

Well, these republicans a lot of power. They can band together and VOTE.

  3. Anonymous6:29 AM

The American version of fascism is going to be known in history as Trumpism, brought to us by the GOP which had to be proved into opposing Hitler and Mussolini back in the late 1930's and early 1940's. And, lest we forget, US manufacturers had to be given profit motive to build military equipment for WWII.

Oops. "Proved" should be "prodded." Spellcheck is not always your friend, or mine.

  4. Anonymous6:38 AM

What if: If one of his well armed supporters gets pissed because Trump is not going to keep the loudly chanted campaign promises as he fills the swamp with the billionaire boys and their yachts and rich boy toys. We get in another war because one of Trump's international properties is bombed and USA, USA, USA kids are called on again to fight and take the oil for humanity or whatever. Trump is going to need a bullet-proof vest and it will need to be huuuge.

  5. Anonymous6:38 AM

This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
The writing was on the wall back in 2000.

  6. Leland6:39 AM

What you describe, Gryphen, is Hitler's propaganda machine which eventually made people "disappear".

But then, we all knew he adores Hitler.

    Welcome to the wilderness loser.

    1. Anonymous7:47 AM

Welcome to your nightmare in hell loser.

  8. Anonymous7:29 AM

I just read an article about Trump having released his inaugural coin. The Daily Caller said that he--not some company and not the US Mint--had released an inaugural coin for $39.95. At the article was a link to the coin. It looked very much like an official Trump site page. AS far as I have always seen, a president doesn't go around creating certain merchandise, namely a coin.

    1. Anonymous8:28 AM

Coin and Bobblehead!> ROME! CALIGULA REBORN.

    2. Anonymous9:19 AM

Caligula was way more intelligent than this guy. He installed his horse as a senator, right?

Now we have installed a horse's ass as president.

Decline and fall, baby. Decline and fall.

Actually, Pence has a mechanism for disposing of Trump; Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. If he can convince a majority of the cabinet that Trump cannot do the job he can go to Congress and simply have him removed. Of course the Amendment gives Trump a way back so the fight will be amusing.

    1. Anonymous8:38 AM

Convince his hand-picked praise choir of monkeys? They are just as fascist and oligarchical as he is.

Fascism has once again thrown it's dark shadow over the world.

  10. Anonymous7:44 AM

Fake little tiny wilderness loser's grab tiny pussy and tiny balls and bow to apes in towers.

  11. Anonymous8:03 AM

No current republicans will be nominated for the "Profiles in Courage" award. Unfortunately, the democratic bench in this regard is very limited. Not looking forward to the next four years.

  12. Anonymous8:08 AM

Your posts for the next four years can run under the same single hedline: WE ARE FUCKED!!!

  13. Anonymous8:25 AM

I think 'the group behind Trump' are not letting him speak publically because he isn't smart, doesn't know facts and comes off weird and sometimes half cocked.

This '76 second' thing he just did was a total joke. Did you watch the folks around him?

All the 'others' are going to do the speaking for him - especially that blond. Just watch....we'll see very, very little of Trump actually speechify!

We are in massive trouble as a nation. Get ready Americans - be prepared - and be ready to protect yourselves!

Reading this story reminds me of watching an old Kung Fu movie where the hero is surrounded by a dozen fighters and he wins because they all take him on ONE AT A TIME. If all of them rushed him at once, there's no way he could defeat them. Likewise, if any quorum of patriotic Republicans could take him on simultaneously, they'd have an effect, rather than being picked off one at a time.

Gee mama kellyann words could have a diiferent meaning. Let them do charity or else.

  17. Trump is already fucking Obama. Today it was an Israeli-Palestinian deal that was two years in the making. One call to Egypt and Trump undermined and torpedoed it.

    Fuck Trump. What an asshole.

"A Thursday phone call between President-elect Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi may have undermined the Obama administration’s final effort to speak out against Israeli settlement building in the occupied Palestinian territories."

"On Thursday morning, Trump slammed the draft resolution as “extremely unfair to all Israelis” and urged the U.S. to veto it. Hours later, Egypt postponed the vote indefinitely.

Initial media reports cited anonymous Western diplomats blaming pressure from the Israelis for Egypt’s sudden reversal. By Thursday evening, however, Reuters had confirmed from a Trump transition official that Trump and Sisi spoke by phone about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. CNN reported that the Israeli government privately asked Trump to intervene on their behalf. "

"But with a tweet, a Facebook post and a phone call to Sisi, Trump may have upended the administration’s efforts, which would have been the culmination of years of planning and internal debate. "

"There’s no guarantee that Trump’s actions ultimately caused the Egyptians to change their mind. But incoming U.S. presidents typically avoid meddling in foreign policy before they are inaugurated, so as not to send mixed messages to the international community.

“It’s unprecedented for a president-elect to tell the sitting president how to conduct foreign policy,” Munayyer said."

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
