White supremacist group targets Jews in Montana. And so it begins.

Richard spencer
Courtesy of the Independent:

A white supremacist website has endangered people’s lives by posting contact details and photos of Jewish residents in a small Montana town – where the mother of white supremacist Richard Spencer lives - and has urged readers to "take action".

The Daily Stormer, a racist website that describes Jews as a "people without shame", cites a Daily Mail article which alleges that Sherry Spencer was considering selling her business in Whitefish, as she claimed she was suffering backlash against her son’s views. Richard Spencer is a member of white supremacist think tank the National Policy Institute, which coined the term alt-right.

The attacks focus on a group called Love Lives Here, which Ms Spencer accused of damaging her family.

The peace organisation, which is "committed to co-creating a caring, open, accepting and diverse community, free from discrimination and dedicated to equal treatment", denied any wrongdoing.

The fascist website has posted photos, phone numbers, addresses and social media channels of members of Love Lives Here. It also posted a picture of a child and pasted yellow stars on each photo. Jewish people in Nazi Germany were forced to wear a similar yellow star on their clothing. The article told readers to "hit them up".

Having trouble remembering.

Wasn't Hitler already in office before they started targeting the Jews?

If you are wondering if this Richard Spencer is a big time Trump supporter, well duh!

Of course this is just the beginning. Once Trump is officially in office every deplorable out there will feel they have free rein to openly discriminate against every minority that they have secretly, or not so secretly, hated for years.

I am sure my scarlet "A" for Atheist will be arriving in the mail any day now.

If I were an Elector, I would have paying attention to news like this, esp since the election. I would have been reading. But I am not an Elector.

Everyone says Electors overturning Trump is unlikely. Even Krugman is talking about how empires end:

Sarah Palin Silent As Texas Republicans Strip Medicaid Funding From Children With Disabilities

If Sarah Palin really cares about children with disabilities she’ll stand up for them in Texas.

Because Texas Republicans just initiated a major $350 million cut in Medicaid funding that federal agencies warn will particularly hurt children with autism and other disabilities.

SNL Calls Trump A ‘Monkey’ So Racist Conservatives Whine That They Can’t Call Obama One (SCREENSHOTS)

Conservatives are downright furious after Saturday Night Live’s Michael Che cracked a joke likening tangerine sh*tgibbon Donald Trump to a monkey with a machine gun. No, they’re not mad because an insult was leveled at Trump (this time) — they’re furious that they don’t get to apply the term to black people (specifically Obama) without facing criticism.

You know lies have gotten out of control when a man who helped orchestrate the Iraq wars, a man who coined the term “axis of evil” and who helped push the lie of weapons of mass destruction, calls Trump propaganda what it is. Former George W. Bush speech writer David Frum has been one of the ironic voices of reason when it comes to the President Elect and the media that’s fawning all over him.

Frum took to Twitter on Sunday with a series of tweets that’s guaranteed to piss Trump off. Frum warned that “Trump’s lying about the popular vote has dangerous real-world consequences.” He called Trump a “narcissist” who will surround himself with sycophants (my word) and convince true believers “to act en masse as if the lies were truth.”

According to Frum, another consequence of Trump’s lies will be to encourage Congress to be reckless.

Even more surprisingly, Frum, an old school Republican, admitted that Republicans have lost the popular vote in every single election but one over the last 28 years. That, to Frum, means that Republicans should rule with caution, since they don’t have a mandate.

Again, Donald Trump LOST the popular vote, so the American people voted AGAINST him. Furthermore, President Obama won both of his elections by far wider margins but conservatives didn’t care abut how the American people voted in 2008 or in 2012. They treated the Obamas like shit, and even attacked their young children and continue to do so today. So they have no right to whine about how people are treating Donald Trump. Turnabout is fair play, and Democrats should treat Trump the same way conservatives treated Obama.

Tom Arnold Needs To Release Donald Trump’s Whitey Tape RIGHT THE HELL NOW

...Oh my god, we know Hollywood is a weird fucked up cult with all kinds of rules, written and unwritten, but literally the future of America was at stake here. So while we are sympathetic to “two editors and an associate producer” who were scared what might happen if the tape got out, we are lil’ bit more concerned right now about how America got handed to a thin-skinned, unqualified tyrant on November 8. And we THINK it would have helped a few of those late breaking voters break away (or simply show up!) for Hillary, who, despite being history’s greatest email monster, doesn’t call her kid and grandkids the “R” word.

‘More evidence of pending tyranny’: Robert Reich sounds the alarm on Trump’s private security force

...On Monday, Politico reported that President-elect Donald Trump is still employing a private security force at his rallies to crack down on protesters — and Robert Reich thinks that’s a very ominous sign.

In his latest Facebook post, Reich reacted with alarm to Trump’s continued use of a private security force led by longtime ally Keith Schiller. In particular, he says that Trump’s decision to rely on his own personal security force is “more evidence of pending tyranny.”

“Even after the election, Trump’s private security force has removed protesters – sometimes roughly – at many of his ‘Thank You Tour’ rallies, including about a dozen protesters during a rally in Grand Rapids on Dec. 9, after Trump shouted ‘Get ‘em out!'” Reich explains. “Kings and dictators have palace guards. President’s don’t. At least not until King Trump.”

    How Republics End

Many people are reacting to the rise of Trumpism and nativist movements in Europe by reading history — specifically, the history of the 1930s. And they are right to do so. It takes willful blindness not to see the parallels between the rise of fascism and our current political nightmare.

But the ’30s isn’t the only era with lessons to teach us. Lately I’ve been reading a lot about the ancient world. Initially, I have to admit, I was doing it for entertainment and as a refuge from news that gets worse with each passing day. But I couldn’t help noticing the contemporary resonances of some Roman history — specifically, the tale of how the Roman Republic fell.

Here’s what I learned: Republican institutions don’t protect against tyranny when powerful people start defying political norms. And tyranny, when it comes, can flourish even while maintaining a republican facade.

    Dear President Obama,

We are writing to express our grave concern regarding the mental stability of our President-Elect. Professional standards do not permit us to venture a diagnosis for a public figure whom we have not evaluated personally. Nevertheless, his widely reported symptoms of mental instability — including grandiosity, impulsivity, hypersensitivity to slights or criticism, and an apparent inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality — lead us to question his fitness for the immense responsibilities of the office. We strongly recommend that, in preparation for assuming these responsibilities, he receive a full medical and neuropsychiatric evaluation by an impartial team of investigators.

Cognitive dissonance for the KKK and alt-right. What will they do?
Plus, the KKK has always hated Roman Catholics -- it's one of their basic beliefs. But Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and much of the Fox stable are R.C.

Trump And Trade: A Plus For Workers? (Bullshit)

(Trump And Trade: A Plus For Trump and kids)

On a good day, Donald Trump can fool some people into thinking that he will be a change for the better on trade policy, and by extension on American jobs. He’s for keeping more jobs in the US, renegotiating NAFTA, and taking a tougher line with China.

He did a cute publicity stunt, strong-arming Greg Hayes, the CEO of Carrier’s parent corporation into keeping several hundred jobs in Indiana (lubricated by tax breaks)

If You’re Feeling Vaguely Hysterical Over Donald Trump, You’re Not Alone

It’s so uncomfortable to feel the simmerings of hysteria that we are prone to deny it, stuff it, pack it away, and choose even to gaslight ourselves in order to convince ourselves that the ground underneath our feet is solid. Gravity is real. Democracy will check this.

And yet Donald Trump is already causing international incidents and we now know that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) hid from the American public the fact that the Russians hacked into the DNC and Hillary Clinton in order to interfere with our elections.

Putin wants Donald Trump in office for a reason, and it’s not because he’s so smart.

...Who will help us when Obama is gone?

The checks and balances inherent in our system have been undermined by Republicans to such an extent that even our Supreme Court is suffering and will be immediately subject to Trump’s pro-Russian stances.

Just like the fall of the Roman Empire can be partially attributed to an incompetent and corrupt Senate that wouldn’t check the Emperor, the fate of the United States is in the hands of an incompetent, lazy, Machiavellian corrupt Congress. This check and balance is all but destroyed right now.

Could Republicans Undo Marriage Equality? Yes — And Here’s How

    It’s a three-step program that’s already underway.

The National Organization for Marriage says that now Donald’s president, they have a plan to undo marriage equality. But can they do that? Is marriage equality really at risk?

Yeah. Yeah it is. In fact, ever since the Supreme Court granted nationwide marriage equality, a handful of our old friends have been exploring ways that they could weaken or roll back those rights. And now that Republicans control the federal government, they can set those plans in motion. Here’s how they could do it in just three steps.
