Donald Trump's inaugural polling shows him with the lowest numbers in the history of the poll.

Courtesy of Gallup:

President Donald Trump is the first elected president in Gallup's polling history to receive an initial job approval rating below the majority level. He starts his term in office with 45% of Americans approving of the way he is handling his new job, 45% disapproving and 10% yet to form an opinion. Trump now holds the record for the lowest initial job approval rating as well as the highest initial disapproval rating in Gallup surveys dating back to Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Trump's inaugural approval rating is not much lower than the 51% recorded for George H.W. Bush in 1989 as well as for Ronald Reagan in 1981, but his disapproval rating is substantially higher than theirs. Whereas 45% disapprove of Trump, only 6% disapproved of the elder Bush and 13% disapproved of Reagan.

By contrast President Obama polled at 68% approval at the beginning of HIS presidency.

Low inaugural TV ratings, small inaugural crowds, and now low polling numbers.

I swear the only huge numbers associated with Trump's inauguration were the record breaking crowds who came out to protest it the next day.

But 90% of republicans approve of trump's first few days in office. Think about that for a few minutes. How incredibly stupid are republicans?

They aren't. At least many of them are not stupid. That's what makes this so frustrating. It's like they are in a parallel universe where "alternative facts" are true.

Did you read that article posted in a link yesterday? The one that talked about how individuals are being targeted with various variations of the facts, depending on their personality profile. Read it and consider the implications. Here is a link:
      https://antidotezine.com/2017/01/22/trump-knows-you/

What if the use of this technique has already led to a serious distrust of mainstream media?

What if the use of this technique has continued in order to reinforce ideas that have already been planted?

If you were a targeted Trump voter, you probably have no idea how much manipulation has been used on you.

And, whether you are appalled or enamored of Trump, you should be very concerned about this technique. We can all be affected by it, just by virtue of how the human brain works. And we will be left believing that we chose and were completely in charge of our own minds.

Some polls have Don the Con's approval rating at 32%. And President Obama's approval rating was 84% as he entered office in 2009.

Exiting office this month has President Obama with an approval rating of 68% in some polls.

This calls for an understanding of "net" approval rating. You subtract the disapproval rating from the approval rating to get the net approval rating. In Donald's case, 45-45=0, so his net approval rating is 0. If his disapproval rating becomes higher than his approval rating, he will have a negative net approval rating.

    1. That won't take long.

The 10% undecided will split and most will move to disapproval.

As the Deplorables notice their lives not getting better, their taxes going up, the cost of everything going up, Trump failing on his promises, they will also move.

That 45% is going to go steadily down every week, with each executive order as it effects them personally.

This is what happens when the “ I know more than anyone” president doesn’t understand how the government runs, thinks he can run everything on his own and wants revenge on the former president: CHAOS
    ============================
EPA contract freeze, media blackout leave states confused

By MICHAEL BIESECKER and JOHN FLESHER - The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) A Trump administration freeze on new Environmental Protection Agency contracts and grant awards raised fears that states and other recipients could lose essential funding for drinking water protection, hazardous waste oversight and a host of other programs while a communications blackout left them dangling in uncertainty.

The agency also took a potential first step Tuesday toward potentially killing environmental rules completed as President Barack Obama's term wound down. At least 30 were targeted in the Federal Register for delayed implementation, including updated pollution rulings for several states, renewable fuel standards and limits on the amount of formaldehyde that can leach from wood products.

........ Emails to staff banning press releases, blog updates or posts to the agency's social media accounts contributed to the information vacuum.

"Is President Trump the only one allowed to tweet in government right now?" Liz Purchia, who was EPA press secretary for the Obama administration, said in an email to The Associated Press.

"I just keep thinking how thankful I am there isn't an emergency disaster EPA needs to respond to right now. ... It's one thing to get your ducks in a row, but to put a gag order on public servants and all agency activities, not only prevents them from doing their jobs. It puts our country at risk."

Similar orders barring external communications have been issued at agencies within the departments of Transportation, Agriculture and Interior.

"Vladimir Putin must be proud," said Ken Cook, president of the Environmental Working Group, an advocacy organization. "The EPA, like all federal agencies, is funded by taxpayer dollars, and Americans have the right to know what's being done to protect or harm public health and the environment."...........

till, confusion reigned in states led by Democrats and Republicans alike that depend on EPA funding.

"We are unsure of the immediate or long-term impact" to programs in Montana involving wastewater treatment, underground storage tanks, air quality and more, said Kristi Ponozzo of the state Department of Environmental Quality.
Utah's DEQ is "seeking additional information so we can understand the impact of this action on our ability to administer critical programs," said Alan Matheson, executive director.

Members of Michigan's congressional delegation raised concern that the freeze could jeopardize aid to Flint, a city still dealing with lead contamination of its water supply.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer of New York urged the Trump administration to drop the media blackout and contracting holdup.

"This decision could have damaging implications? for communities across New York state and the country, from delaying testing for lead in schools to restricting efforts to keep drinking water clean to holding up much-needed funding to revitalize toxic brownfield sites," Schumer said.

The executive director for the advocacy group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, Jeff Ruch, said the Trump orders go beyond what has occurred in prior presidential transitions.

........ Staff at the Agriculture Department's Agricultural Research Service also received orders not to issue any news releases, photos, fact sheets and social media posts. After an email of the order leaked to the media, the agency said it would rescind the memo.
"Gag orders that freeze communications with the public and government officials go against basic notions of government transparency and accountability," said Michael Macleod-Ball of the American Civil Liberties Union.

"The Netherlands would do everything in its power to help women "remain in control of their own bodies", she said."

    BBC:
Netherlands government to counter Trump abortion funding ban

The Netherlands is to set up an international fund to support abortion services hit by President Donald Trump's order to cut US foreign aid.

Lilianne Ploumen, a Dutch minister, said it would set up "a well-financed fund" to allow other governments, businesses and charities to donate.

The Netherlands would do everything in its power to help women "remain in control of their own bodies", she said.

President Trump ordered a ban on US aid to support abortion services overseas.

For decades, it has been the case that no US money can be spent on overseas abortions.

But on Monday, the president signed an executive order - known as the global gag rule - which takes that a step further, prohibiting organisations that receive US family planning assistance from using non-US funding to provide abortion services, information, counselling or referrals....

But up until her “alternative facts” meltdown, she had been the de facto face of the Donald Trump administration, frequently appearing on television interviews both before and after Trump took office. So the notion that she’s suddenly taking herself off television voluntarily seems absurd; instead it sounds like Trump simply benched her for one too many TV flubs.

TRUMP IS DETERMINED TO ERASE PRESIDENT OBAMA'S LEGACIES

Trump Poised to Lift Ban on C.I.A. ‘Black Site’ Prisons

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is preparing a sweeping executive order that would clear the way for the C.I.A. to reopen overseas “black site” prisons, like those where it detained and tortured terrorism suspects before former President Barack Obama shut them down.

President Trump’s three-page draft order, titled “Detention and Interrogation of Enemy Combatants” and obtained by The New York Times, would also undo many of the other restrictions on handling detainees that Mr. Obama put in place in response to policies of the George W. Bush administration.

If Mr. Trump signs the draft order, he would also revoke Mr. Obama’s directive to give the International Committee of the Red Cross access to all detainees in American custody. That would be another step toward reopening secret prisons outside of the normal wartime rules established by the Geneva Conventions, although statutory obstacles would remain.

Mr. Obama tried to close the prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, and refused to send new detainees there, but the draft order directs the Pentagon to continue using the site “for the detention and trial of newly captured” detainees — including not just more people suspected of being members of Al Qaeda or the Taliban, like the 41 remaining detainees, but also Islamic State detainees. It does not address legal problems that might raise....

On Donald Trump’s first full day as president of the United States, he went to CIA headquarters and informed the national intelligence community that he has an “ongoing war with the media.”[1] At his first White House press briefing, Trump’s press secretary Sean Spicer berated the press corps for accurately reporting the crowd size at Trump’s inauguration, then warned them that the president will hold them “accountable” for this kind of reporting in the future.[2] On Sunday morning, Trump’s team blacklisted CNN.[3]

Even more disturbing, Trump’s aide Kellyanne Conway announced that the Trump administration will rely on “alternative facts” when pressed on their falsehoods. [4] (Note: There’s no such thing as “alternative facts.” Alternative facts is just another way of saying lie.)

As we warned when we launched this action, the Trump administration has already started crowding out reporters in the White House press corps in favor of extreme right-wing and fake news sites like Breitbart, Alex Jones, and other fringe sources you’ve probably never heard of. [5]

We will be engaging directly with the White House Correspondents Association later this week and doing a formal delivery of our petition next week.

Going into this, let’s make our voices as loud as possible. We already have 290,000 signers! Let’s get it 350,000!

This is a crisis. We need to raise all of our voices to ensure that the media stand up to Trump’s growing blacklist before it’s too late. It’s a scary thing to say, but the truth is that they have to stand together before they all fall -- one by one..

Want to do even more than share it?

CLICK HERE to tell the White House Correspondents' Association and their board directly, via Twitter, that you will stand with them if they stand up to Trump's blacklists.

Thanks for your participation. It matters.

Trump’s Illegal Voting Lie Is Part of Larger Republican Attack On Democracy

...Sessions will have plenty of help in his war against voting rights besides just Trump’s big lying mouth. According to a preview (2017) put out by the Brennan Center for Justice, as of last week there were already “at least 33 bills to restrict access to registration and voting [that]have been introduced in 16 states as of January 17.” Not surprising at all, despite several federal court rulings and studies “finding that requiring photo ID at the polls is discriminatory and depresses minority turnout,” some states are working on enacting extremely strict vote suppression legislation.

Nine additional states are considering harsh voting laws and one in Iowa will limit absentee voting. Some others are considering bills to limit voting to citizens with proof of American citizenship, eliminating Election Day registration, and disallowing voter registration groups from registering new voters. In Texas, Republicans are working on a plan to make it impossible for people who love democracy to help voters who need language assistance. Because it is Texas and Republicans run the state, the mindset must be that if they “don’t talk Murican” they aren’t “Muricans” and can’t vote.

Look, nobody likes a liar and it is probable that not many people like Trump; who could possibly blame them? However, this particular lie is, combined with conspiracy whackos and fake news sites repeating Trump’s claim that 3-5 million illegal aliens cast illegal votes for Hillary Clinton and cost Trump the popular vote victory is not the run-of-the-mill Trump lie. It is a deliberate propaganda tool to bolster support for Republicans to disenfranchise literally millions of American citizens’ and the reason is perfectly clear. With a fascist regime now controlling the nation, the last thing Koch Republicans and their anti-democracy ALEC legislation mill want to see is American democracy in action because when all Americans are allowed to vote Republicans can’t win.

Fair And Balanced Facade Blown To Bits As Trump Endorses Fox News As State TV

Donald Trump has endorsed Fox News from the Oval Office, which means that for the first time in history a member of the US press is now perceived as state-run media.

...Never before has a President Of The United States endorsed a media outlet while condemning another. It is not the job of the President to tell the American people where to get their news. Fox News was always the conservative news network, but thanks to Trump’s endorsement, they should now be formally viewed as the administration’s propaganda outlet.

Trump isn’t interested in the free press and objective media. The President wants fawning and flattering coverage, which Fox News provides more times than not.

The illusion that Fox News was fair and balanced has been blown to bits, as under Trump, Fox News is Trump cheerleading TV.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo turned Rep. Chris Collins’ (R-NY) argument for Trump’s bogus fraud investigation into rubble, as he showed how the media should handle President Trump and his supporters.

CNN’s Chis Cuomo suggested that the investigation was a waste of taxpayer money on a claim that isn’t true, “My money, your money, is going to go to an investigation on something (for which) we don’t have a shred of proof. And now we’re going to waste our money taking a look at something because it someone’s bruised ego? Is that what this is about?”

The most telling exchange of the interview suggested to Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) that the same investigate without evidence standard being used by Trump be applied to investigating Congress.

    Transcript of the exchange:

...Trump and his wounded ego have derailed the Republican agenda and forced Congress to go off on a voter fraud wild goose chase. The larger motive behind the Trump claims is that it provides him and his party with the justification that they need to implement national voter ID.
