Donald Trump's new press secretary deflects question about Russian hacking helping his boss, with question about why Hillary Clinton is not being punished for what she did to influence election.

Courtesy of Think Progress:

Spicer was asked if President-elect Trump accepts the conclusion of seventeen U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia was responsible for the hacks that sought to damage Clinton’s bid for the presidency.

“Why aren’t we talking about the other influences on the election? Why aren’t we talking about Hillary Clinton getting debate questions ahead of time?” Spicer said in response.

“No one is asking those questions. The fact is that everyone wants to make Donald Trump admit to certain things. When do we talk about the other side, which is what did Hillary Clinton do to influence the election? Is she being punished?”

Damn! That is some crazy ass spin there Sean old man.

I guess he does not consider losing the election punishment enough. Perhaps he would like to see Hillary whipped in the streets as well?

And by the way since when is being asked questions comparable to a "punishment?"

If Trump thinks like that these next fours years are going to REALLY suck for him.

And let's take a moment to address that bullshit allegation that Hillary received debate questions ahead of time.

The question she may or may not have received (There is no actual proof that she saw it ahead of time.) was NOT before a debate, it was before a town hall. With Bernie Sanders.

And the question she possibly received was about water conditions in Flint, Michigan where the town hall was being held. WHO in the hell would not already be prepared to answer that question?

There is no comparison between that possible infraction by Donna Brazille and the fact that the Russians hacked our election process in order to put a puppet in place for Vladimir Putin.

Not even close.

Whatever did Hillary Clinton do to "influence the election" other than be the much better candidate, as evidenced by the vote totals?

I'll just add that after this so-called debate question-gate thing happened, it was said by several long-time campaign people that, heck yeah, everyone tries to find out debate questions.

Spicer's whacked. However, hearing what he said makes me again hope that BO can pardon Hillary preemptively and quietly. I have to wonder: If BO doesn't pardon himself, can those fucking GOPers press charges against him if they cook up a reason to now go after him? If they can, I think they will. This is how low the GOP and Trump are.

Elijah Cummings is fantastic. So many House Dems are, and the Congressional Black Caucus has always rocked. I wish some of the Dem House reps could be cloned into Dem senators, or that some great new House reps ran for office and some of the current House reps would run for Senate and get in.

Let me tell you about Flint MI.and our Rebublican Governor. I have a relative affected by all of this. She has a jug of water to brush your teeth with and they take cold quick showers because they are dragging their feet to rectify this situation.

So far they have only replaced a quarter of the pipes. Get used to a Third World Country. This is or was America and we have people living under these conditions.

This is the Rebublican party. These people pay their taxes, they work for a living and their house value has dropped to nothing until this is fixed. You can now buy a house in Flint for under 40,000 dollars.

I live in Michigan and this is not acceptable! Clean water is not a priviledge it is a given right for all the years of taxes and human decency.

If we let this shit slide in Flint when do we draw the line? How much are we willing to ignore until it comes our way.

It starts drip by drip a little at a time. With Trump it will get like a pack of Jackel's and we must not let America sink into acceptance of basic human rights being violated.

It makes me think of places like Texarkana, TX, where there has long been polluted waters outside of people's homes (I don't know about inside) and the politicians down there (and elsewhere in the South where the same problems occur) just ignore it. Down there, it's all about coal toxins and nuclear waste and of course it's where minorities live. This is a place that was supposed to be a haven for blacks who were finally allowed to own homes and build a community. They were knowingly directed to a piece of shit to build on.

I don't disagree. I was commenting on a place that what you posted reminded me of. When I drove through there years ago, I'd never heard of Texarkana. At that time, I then read, it was at the top of the list as most polluted places in the country. This was in 1989. Then, I read about the particular community there that I posted about. To me, it was natural to recall this when I read your post, but I'm sorry I got in the way--wish I could delete my post, but I can't.

As part of his effort to get Americans working again after the Bush collapse, President Obama wanted to embark on a massive infrastructure rebuilding program around the country. It would have replaced outdated water systems (think lead pipes), fixed highways, replaced bad bridges, provided more and better public transportation, etc. The program would have created good jobs for the people who have complained ever since and who continually vote for Republicans at every level. The underemployed white displaced factory employees, people, whom we're supposed to feel sorry for, who voted for Trump. Huh! The GOP said "no" to almost all of the infrastructure program, only allowing a pittance of the money for highways (remember the signs on interstate sections).

I think the GOP wants to see the country crumble completely. For what good reason, I'll never know but I sincerely think that Republicans at local, state and national levels want the country to collapse. Maybe they think that they alone will survive and just get richer. I simply cannot understand what passes for logic in a Republican mind. It surely has nothing to do with love of country.

Well, his comment tells us that Trump us afraid that something's going to happen before 1/20 to keep his inauguration from happening, and he and his people are avoiding the press until 1/20 after the ceremony.

O/T, I just read this fascinating long piece about John Casablancas (modeling agency guy with predilection for underage girls)and Trump and their shared interests. It's pretty sickening when you see how Trump emulated this guy and years later had the guy work for him when all his scummy behavior led to his downfall. And he was Trump's way into the fashion world and having an agency of his own and, too, getting Ivanka a job modeling. It's part one and it's from October. You may have read it. I don't see a part two yet. I hope it is still coming out.

Trump aide says U.S. sanctions on Russia may be disproportionate

(Reuters) - A top aide to President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview aired on Sunday that the White House may have disproportionately punished Russia by ordering the expulsion of 35 suspected Russian spies....

    PRESSURE IN CONGRESS

U.S. intelligence agencies say Russia was behind hacks into Democratic Party organizations and operatives before the presidential election. Moscow denies this. U.S. intelligence officials say the Russian cyber attacks aimed to help Trump defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Republican John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has scheduled a hearing for Thursday on foreign cyber threats and has said that Russia must be made to pay the price for attacks "on our very fundamentals of democracy.

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee said on the same ABC program that Congress would push for an even harsher reprisal against Russia and warned Trump against undoing Obama’s sanctions.

"We think that more has to be done. We don't think that frankly the steps that have been taken are enough of a deterrent," said Representative Adam Schiff, a California Democrat. “And you're going to see bipartisan support in Congress for stronger sanctions against Russia."

Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, said on "Fox News Sunday" that Obama's sanctions were not enough.

Russian President Vladimir Putin decided not to expel anyone in retaliation, saying he would consider the actions of Trump when deciding on further steps. Trump, who has repeatedly praised Putin, said the Russian leader was "very smart" for holding back.

Russian diplomats who were expelled by Obama left Washington on Sunday, Russian news agencies reported, citing Russia's embassy.

This is the guy who was going to put Sarah palin a "heartbeat from the presidency" Remember? The same John McCain who promised to block any Supreme Court nominees not only by Barrack Obama, but by Hillary Clinton as well.

This is the same John McCain that Gryphen had this to say about.... "his actions alone legitimized politicians like Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, and Donald Trump. Because if he hadn't foisted Sarah Palin upon the nation and gave the darkest elements of the American psyche validity on the national stage, there's a good chance we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now " Gryphen also called him the "NRA's little prison bitch".

The same John McClain who declared "that President Obama is "directly responsible" for the shootings in Orlando."

The same John McCain who voted to go to war against Iraq over weapons of mass destruction which led to the whole middle east mess and national debt we have today.

But today's enemy of my enemy is my friend, at least for today.

Twodux, the GOP promise to lower health insurance costs involving eliminating the ACA, Medicare and Medicaid. That leaves you, the ordinary person, alone with the insurance companies and the hospitals and doctors. Lots of luck. Frankly, I prefer having Medicare. It means that, with my supplemental insurance, neither hospitals nor doctors can charge me excessive amounts. To date, I've heard of two GOP ideas for replacing Medicare. Under one of them, we'll get vouchers; under the other, we'll pay the difference between the excessively high price tag from hospitals and doctors and the pittance my "private" insurance company is willing to pay. Neither of those options help anyone except the insurance companies because hospitals will never be able to collect all that is owed them by the rest of us. I keep wondering: "why does the GOP hate Americans so much?"

FIRST, TO UNDERSTAND HOW TRUMP MAY HAVE BEEN RECRUITED BY PUTIN

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY A FOX (Russian Case Agent) CAN CATCH A CHICKEN (TRUMP)?

How did Russian case agents/spies get access to and train Donald Trump?

The fox has to get access to the chicken. The fox (Russian Case Agents) has to sneak into the chicken coop.

    USA TODAY:
    1. Dolly Lenz, a real estate broker in New York, said she sold about 65 units in Trump World Tower in Manhattan to Russians in late 1990s. “I had contacts in Moscow looking to invest in the United States,” Lenz said. “They all wanted to meet Donald. They became very friendly.”

    2. Ilya Reznik, who said he’s sold dozens of condominiums to Russians in Trump properties in south Florida.

    3. Gil Dezer, whose family built six Trump buildings with their own money in south Florida, said Russians buy Trump properties for the brand name. Dezer developed the property under Trump’s name, meaning Trump received a royalty fee at the time of the sale.

    4. “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York,” Trump Jr. said at the time. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia. There's indeed a lot of money coming for new-builds and resale reflecting a trend in the Russian economy and, of course, the weak dollar versus the ruble."

    5. Back in 2008, Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. told investors in Moscow that the Trump Organization had trademarked the Donald Trump name in Russia and planned to build housing and hotels in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi, and to sell licenses to other developers, according to the Russian daily Kommersant.

    6. These business dealings explain Trump's comfort level with a country — and its authoritarian president, Vladimir Putin — at a time when President Obama and both parties in Congress are alarmed over a series of Russian actions, the most recent being CIA allegations that the Russian government interfered in the presidential election to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton.
