Israel has approved hundreds of new settlement homes in occupied East Jerusalem, after the staunch pro-Israel US President Donald Trump took office.
Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Meir Turgeman told AFP: "Now we can finally build."
Israel's PM reportedly delayed approval given the opposition of Barack Obama, who infuriated Israel by allowing a UN resolution against settlements to pass.
Settlements in East Jerusalem are considered illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this.
For his part Trump just invited Netanyahu to come hang.

President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday and invited him to the United States in February, according to a statement released by Netanyahu’s office.
“The Prime Minister expressed his desire to work closely with President Trump to forge a common vision to advance peace and security in the region, with no daylight between the United States and Israel,” the statement said.
Gee maybe Trump will also invite Putin and they can all sit around laughing about all of the human rights they plan to stomp on.

Republicans File Bill To Terminate United Nations Membership And Revoke Diplomatic Immunity
ReplyDeleteA bill co-sponsored by about half a dozen Republicans would force the United States to quit its membership in the United Nations.
Earlier this month, Rep. Michael Rogers (R-AL) filed legislation called The American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017 on behalf of himself and at least four other GOP co-sponsors.
The measure aims to repeal the United Nations Participation Act on 1945, which authorized U.S. membership in the intergovernmental organization.
The bill states that the president "shall terminate all membership by the United States in the United Nations, and in any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations."
Additionally, the measure prohibits "diplomatic immunity for U.N. officers or employees." Without immunity protection for diplomats, the organization would be forced to re-locate its headquarters outside of the United States.
Rogers' legislation comes after President Barack Obama's administration refused to vote against a UN resolution condemning Israel for illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem

If the bill is passed by Congress, it would take effect two years after being signed into law by President Donald Trump.

If you notice in the picture Barron is staring off to nothingness and his mother is staring at him rather then her husband. As a mother of two boys on the spectrum I recognize Barron's gaze and his mothers concern.
From here on out, although Trump will never have my compassion or loyalty, his son and wife are off limits. To attract them in any way is as bad as when Trump states that families of terrorist should be attacked.
While I agree minor children should be off limits, it is all on Trump for putting them in the spotlight. Attention will ALWAYS be on them, whether they are "attacked" or not. And it isn't an "attack" for anyone to show concern and voice questions about whether Barron is autistic.
