Possibly the real reason for Trump's animosity toward "Ghina." It's all about money.

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

President Donald Trump paints China as the United States' ultimate economic enemy, imperiling American jobs by engaging in unfair trade practices. "We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what they're doing," Trump said last year in Fort Wayne, Indiana. "They are devaluing their currency, and we have nobody in our government to fight them," he added at a debate in September. "They are using our country as a piggy bank to rebuild China, and many other countries are doing the same thing."

I would be willing to bet that a number of Trump's opinions about foreign countries are based on his business dealing with them in the past, and his hopes for personal business deals with them in the future.

We already know that there are "YUGE" business opportunities for Trump and his new Secretary of State in Russia, so of course they blow kisses at Putin.

Which by the way sends a rather clear and stark message to other foreign leaders.

Do business with Trump and his subordinates or get the cold shoulder.

Gee look Mother Jones ignored Stephen Bannon's demand to "shut up."

Good for them. Hopefully every news outlet sees Bannon's words as a command to do their job more aggressively and dig even deeper into Trump's skeleton stuffed closet.

  2. As with most things Trump---its all about the money.

I believe Rachel brought up the fact that Trump has no businesses in the countries that he is banning emigration to the U.S.. Of course none of those countries ever had people commit terrorist acts here after 911.

Nightmare. Trump is an absolute nightmare--I hope China calls in his loans.

Trump invoked September 11th multiple times in his order banning refugees and immigration/visits from certain countries. He did not however ban people from the four countries from which the 9/11 terrorists came - Saudi Arabia (#1 sponsor of terrorism by far), UAE, Turkey and Lebanon.

I heard this morning that the US actually detained people under the new immigration order as they arrived at airports. How tragic to be a Syrian refugee family who has gone through 18 months of vetting to make it to the US only to be jailed (and likely returned).

trump is an ignorant heartless fucking bastard and I wish the absolute worst on him and his.

WE WILL SEE a lot of these stories in coming weeks. People who have fought alongside Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan want to come here, and will not be allowed to.
ALSO -- The Sept. 11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Lebanon. Refugees from those countries are still allowed. Banned countries are: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

Maybe donnie can explain why when he had the chance to buy American for “his buildings” he chose China. When he had the chance to make American for his clothing line and home goods he chose China.

I am sure it will be lost on his supporters the hypocrisy, but after all he did give them the opportunity to purchase those stylish bubba hats made in China, Vietnam and other foreign countries.

Here are 9 atrocities from week one of the Trumpocalypse

It’s been just seven days since Donald Trump took office. While the media spent most of that time spilling digital ink over inauguration numbers, the new administration was diminishing women’s health and safety around the world, chipping away at health care for millions of Americans and pouring money that could feed and insure children into a useless garbage heap along the border. It was a bad week for politics and decency, which have always been on frigid terms, but are now dead to each other.

There were other things, too. Trump threatened Chicago with martial law on what he thought was a double-dog dare from fellow racist Bill O’Reilly. He promised to install monitors—glorified tattletales, really—to oversee federal agencies and report back to brass at the White House. After again trotting out the lie about immigrants and dead people voting, Trump promised an investigation into the widely debunked issue of election fraud (though not into Russian election meddling), which should start with his own family and staff. Speaking of Steve Bannon, the grand wizard of the so-called alt-right and White House senior adviser continued the Trump team’s cynical campaign to keep their base paranoid, uninformed and stupid by pretending their boss is a victim of the press. Newsweek discovered Bannon, Kellyanne Conway, Sean Spicer and Jared Kushner all have email accounts on a private system. And as the final, delusional cherry on the poisonous cake, Trump compared himself to Abraham Lincoln.

He also signed a bunch of executive orders. Far more important than all the background noise is the authoritarian craziness that Trump is codifying into law. These plans and policies will wreak irreparable havoc and damage, causing suffering and pain to millions .in the U.S. and beyond. Remember—this is just seven days’ worth of destruction. We’ve got four more years of this.

Here’s 9 terrible things Trump did in just seven days...................

How does he plan to stop China? Pay off our debt? Or is this more campaign rhetoric for his supporters?
What no complaints about other foreign countries holding our debt to manipulate currency?
    =============================================
“The U.S. debt to China is $1.0493 trillion, as of November 2016.”

“China is more than happy to own close to a third of the U.S. debt. Owning U.S. Treasury notes helps China's economy grow by keeping its currency weaker than the dollar. That keeps Chinese exports cheaper than U.S. products. China's highest priority is to create enough jobs for its 1.4 billion people.

The United States allowed China to become one of its biggest bankers because the American people enjoyed low consumer prices. Selling debt to China allows the U.S. economy to grow by funding federal government programs. It also keeps U.S. interest rates low. But China's ownership of U.S. debt is shifting the economic balance of power in its favor.

China makes sure its currency, the yuan, is always lower than the U.S. dollar. Why? Part of its economic strategy is to keep its export prices competitive. It does this by holding the yuan at a fixed rate compared to a basket of currencies, the majority of which is the dollar. When the dollar falls in value, the Chinese government uses extra currency to buy Treasuries, which increases demand for the dollar, increasing its value.
Also, China promises to redeem dollars for yuan at the fixed rate. It must keep a good supply of Treasury notes in reserve.

China's position as America's largest banker gives it some political leverage. Now and then, China threatens to sell part of its debt holdings. It knows that, if it did so, U.S. interest rates would rise, which would slow U.S economic growth. China often calls for a new global currency to replace the dollar, which is used in most international transactions. China does this whenever the U.S. allows the value of the dollar to drop, which makes the debt China holds less valuable.”

    https://www.thebalance.com/u-s-debt-to-china-how-much-does-it-own-3306355

What About Foreign Ownership of the Debt?
Japan owns $1.108 trillion in U.S. debt. As of November 2016, it was the largest foreign holder. China owns $1.049 trillion. Both Japan and China want to keep the value of the dollar high when compared to their currencies. That helps their exports to the United States seem more affordable, which helps their economies grow. That's why, despite China's occasional threats to sell its holdings, both countries are happy to be America's biggest foreign bankers.
Ireland is third, holding $275 billion. The Cayman Islands is fourth, at $260 billion. Luxembourg is seventh ($221 billion), and Belgium is twelfth ($113 billion). The Bureau of International Settlements believes all three are fronts for sovereign wealth funds and hedge funds that don't want to reveal their positions.
Brazil is the fifth largest holder at $258 billion. The next largest holders are Switzerland, the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India. They each hold between $118 - $229 billion each. (Source: Foreign Holding of U.S. Treasury Securities, January 18, 2016. "Petrodollars and Global Imbalances," U.S. Treasury, February 2006.) Data is from various reports that are released at different times. Therefore, the total may not add up to $19.9 trillion.

AP Poll: Majority Of Americans Worried About Loss Of Health Care Coverage

.... Some 56 percent of U.S. adults say that they are “extremely” or “very” worried that many Americans will lose health insurance if the law is repealed. Only 16 percent of respondents want the healthcare legislation repealed immediately, while 31 percent said Congress and President Donald Trump should have a replacement plan prepared before eliminating it.

Americans are fairly evenly split on keeping the law, with 53 percent saying it should be kept and 46 percent calling for its repeal. Most think improvements need to be made, with only 12 percent of poll respondents saying the health care law should be left in its current state.

The Trump resistance is beating him on his own turf: Twitter

.... “To the extent that there seems to be a kind of spirit of defiance, I don’t know if we’ve ever seen that before,” said Joshua Tucker, a researcher at NYU’s Social Media and Political Participation laboratory. “It is very safe to say that Trump has galvanized protest. There’s probably more organization of protest going on online right now in the United States than there ever has been before on social media.”

So while Trump frequently drowns out other conversations on Twitter, this week, at least, his opponents turned the tables.......

Dick Cheney Thinks Trump's Muslim Ban Is 'Against Everything We Stand For'

Even former Vice President Dick Cheney has denounced Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's plan to ban Muslim immigration in America.

Cheney, a decisive conservative himself, said Monday on The Hugh Hewitt Show that the ban "goes against everything we stand for and believe in."

"I think this whole notion that somehow we can just say no more Muslims, just ban a whole religion, goes against everything we stand for and believe in. I mean, religious freedom has been a very important part of our history and where we came from," Cheney said on a Monday appearance on the radio show. "A lot of people, my ancestors got here, because they were Puritans."

Cheney called Trump's plan a "mistaken notion" and said to solve refugee and immigration problems, the U.S. must examine why they need to leave their countries in the first place.

"It’s a serious problem to make certain that the people coming in don’t represent ISIS. You’ve got to set up a vetting process," Cheney said.

Most recently the plot, the pledge, 2008, and the outcome today. He has the nerve as most republicans. Each will attempt slither and to distance themselves from the obvious. Theirs values and morals and ethics are as lousy as their rino djtrojan.

Report: Green Card Holders Also Barred Under Trump Ban

People granted legal permanent resident status through green cards are included in the executive action President Donald Trump signed barring people from seven Muslim-majority countries from the United States, Reuters reported Saturday.
"It will bar green card holders," Gillian Christensen, acting Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, told Reuters in an email.

Citizens of Iraq, Sudan, Iran, Libya, Somalia and Yemen are prohibited from entering the United States for 90 days under the order, which went into effect immediately after Trump signed it on Friday. Refugees from Syria are banned indefinitely under the order.

If you research the many projects of djt you will find many shady shod examples. One was in Los Angelas, it was something about demolishing a historic house or ? that he acquired. He and his pal didn't want to go thru the lawful steps so they just bulldozed and paid the fine. That home belong to a family with a surname with history in the area. Did they contest it?
Another was a golf course he arranged at tiny price, then started the djt method and art of the deal bs. Residence were angry.
Not all developers and businessmen are as outright hateful evil and mentally ill as our djt. There are stories after stories of sleazy business from this man. I have not read one of humanity or compassion.
    Yesterday
I read of Facebook dude Zuckerberg buying land in Hawaiian and because the land had speckle of other owners he wanted to sue these ancient families of Hawaii because he wanted their land. This guy has profited and developed a business that people are harassed and brought to suicide. He made quick money for nothing and then attempted to take from the less fortunate. Instead of blending in with the locals and area he chose the djt method.
