Trump's White House Chief of Staff says he has "no plans" to get rid of FBI Director James Comey.

Courtesy of The Washington Times:

The incoming White House chief of staff said Sunday that President-elect Donald Trump does not plan to replace FBI Director James B. Comey despite increasingly public calls from Democrats that Mr. Comey should resign.

“There’s no plans in this moment of changing that,” Reince Priebus said Sunday in an interview on ABC’s “This Week.” “We’ve had a great relationship with him over the last several weeks and he’s extremely competent.”

I don't think any of us should be surprised by this. Of course Trump has a "great relationship" with Comey, he provided the final push that helped him to win.

I still think that Comey had some assurances before sending that letter that if Trump won his job would be safe.

I can't prove that or anything, but Comey HAD to know that if Clinton won his career was over.

So if he was going to risk everything like that he had to know there was a safe place to land.

It still pisses me off that President Obama hired him. He has a history of being a snake.

One would think Trump would want to get rid of Comey because he is cleaning house down to the last crumb in many areas. He's making it known that he's all-powerful. But with Comey, even with the possibility that Comey might want to clean up his rep and even though a new FBI head would keep Trump completely safe from too much scrutiny, he so loves sticking it to the Dems and in this case just wants to keep Comey there to make everyone who's pissed even more pissed. He will never admit that there was meddling in the elections, and Comey is such a representative of the meddling. He's happy to keep him. For now. Give it six months.

    1. He can't. Presidents can hire but not fire head of FBI.

It was a damned poor choice that is coming back to bite everyone.

Groan. So, Trump puts out an empty tweet yet again when it comes to a day when he should be able to say something inspirational. He uses the empty words "wonderful" and "great" and says nothing specific about MLK Jr. in his tweet.

And after his f'ed up week regarding John Lewis and supposedly canceling his visit to the AA museum in DC because of a scheduling conflict that meant he had to be in NY (and btw, the museum says he never contacted them about coming), he's summoned MLK III to Trump Tower. This is a time when Trump should be the one to go to the other person. He should have asked if MLK III would meet with him on MLK's turf.

AS of late last night, news sites were saying (with the lie of that museum cancellation) that it was completely unknown if Trump would participate in any MLK Day activities. We can be sure he had made no plans to be in the public celebrating. But at some point he scheduled the meeting with MLK III. Who knows when it was set up. And why didn't Trump say something? Because with him it's all about a show. And because he can't be bothered with the little things--he can't be bothered with a ceremony or some other activity, but has to look oh-so important going straight to a member of the family and making it look, now, like he has some great interest in civil rights and the legacy of King. It's all about his ego. Every time.

People have been voicing their disgust with Trump summoning MLK III to his tower today. That witch Omarosa was sent to greet him. Lobby photo op after the meeting is sure to come:

Of course trump is holding on to Comey, probably at putin's request. For all we know the Russians have something on Comey as well, and that's why he rescued trump by releasing the letter about hillary but sitting on trumps connections to Russia.

Kellyanne Conway: Details of Russia investigation should be kept secret ‘to protect the public’

Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway on Sunday expressed disappointment that intelligence officials and lawmakers are leaking information on the Russian hacking of the election to help the president-elect and insisted it should be kept secret to “protect the public.”...

  14. Clinton couldn't fire him.

Once he's appointed he has the job for 10 years. That supposedly to keep it non-political.

Bottom line, Obama was a FOOL to nominate this asshole.

    Arne Duncan.

    Ken Salazar.

Not like Comey was Obama's only miss.

Ivanka has duties since Melania won't be there? Sounds like the Palin household when Sarah is gone.

Should designers dress Melania and Ivanka? The question is more complex than it seems.

..... And so, catering to his wife quickly became an ethical dilemma for designers. Would doing so signal tacit approval of her husband’s scorched-earth tactics?

Ultimately, it may be that designers focused on the wrong person. With Melania Trump planning to remain in New York a while for her son’s schooling, it increasingly appears that the president-elect’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, who is moving to town, may be taking on many of the ceremonial duties...

  26. On the other hand, maybe Comey HAS investigated the Trump dossier, found it to be credible, and is lording that over Trump to maintain his directorship.

Many of us, I'm sure, are old enough to recall that J. Edgar Hoover had compiled dirt on just about every politician in WAshington and used it to hold onto his position as FBI director for decades.
