Women across the country are set to go on strike the day of the inauguration.

Courtesy of New York Magazine:

Women across the country are set to strike the weekend of January 20, in protest of Donald Trump’s inauguration. The Women Strike will go down that Friday — the actual day of the inauguration — as well as the Saturday, which also happens to be the day of the Women’s March on Washington.

Organizers of the strike are reportedly urging women to abstain from all labor that weekend to demand access to birth control and abortion, a $15 minimum wage, paid family leave and universal child care, according to Gothamist. And, given that the president-elect’s campaign was marked by bigotry and misogyny, the strike’s organizers are also calling for an end of harassment and degradation.

There is also of course a huge protest led by women planned for January 21st as well.

I think it is safe to say that there has never been an incoming president so universally reviled by women in this country.

You know except for the anti-women women like Sarah Palin of course.

Let's face it, the guy's a pig.

    Think Progress:
Trump said he had $315 million in debt. He left out $1.5 billion.

Trump filed documents with the FEC over the summer that revealed he owed at least $315 million to ten entities. This debt, some of which is personally guaranteed by him, was a clear conflict. As president, Trump will be responsible for regulating entities that he also owes money to. Worse, these debts are frequently renegotiated, giving these companies leverage over Trump in the regulatory process.

A report this afternoon from the Wall Street Journal, however, revealed that Trump’s disclosure was the tip of the iceberg. The FEC required Trump only to report debt from entities he fully controls. The disclosure left out “more than $1.5 billion lent to partnerships that are 30%-owned by him.” That debt has been securitized and is owed to at least 150 financial entities.
These financial institutions include many firms that are under the scrutiny of the federal agencies that Trump will soon control. Wells Fargo, for example, which services over $900 million in loans connected to Trump, “is currently facing scrutiny from federal regulators surrounding its fraudulent sales practices and other issues.”

Trump will soon appoint the top regulators who will be responsible for scrutinizing the bank’s conduct.

A press conference that was scheduled to address Trump’s numerous conflict of interest was scheduled for December and then canceled. Another press conference has been scheduled for January 11, although it appears not to be exclusively focused on his business activities.

"You know except for the anti-women women like Sarah Palin of course."

Gryph, are you assuming Sarah is a woman? Did you verify she's a woman or have you talked to Glenn Rice, Curtis Menard Jr or Brad Hanson? Anybody who has to purchase and wear large fake breasts when they try to get men excited, is terribly upset when you take a picture of them when they're not wearing makeup, has a flat square pregnant stomach, has to send their daughters to hair and pimple school to fix them up and their husband allegedly has to go to prostitutes to get satisfied, well they may not be an actual woman.

Not to mention the fake butt pads.

Aside from Sarah Palin as an abomination.
I could envision her having a shriveled little weenie/balls to match her masculine features.
      Yeah , makes sense. Thanks

  3. Gryphen, go back in and correct your text to say the Women's March is January 21ST, not the 20th. I'll be there!

    1. Shouldn't it be Womens' march? Plural?

"Women" is plural. The plural of "woman" is "women", not "womans". Sheesh.

Yet about 1/2 of white women voted for this asshole. Go figure. I guess racism trumps misogyny.

    1. More like religious brainwashing. Got to save every fertilized egg.

  5. Don't forget Operation PussyHat for those that can't go. We can still contribute and protest from home.

I'd like to see a sea of bright pink hats across the country from the 20th on.

That protest of women against the Don is not only going on in DC. It will be going on in every major city in the US, and, it seems, even OVERSEAS, too! There is a march planned in London for the 21. NOT sure about others, but pretty sure you can 'google' it...

I wonder if the Washington protest will be allowed. By the day after the Inauguration Trump will be in charge of Trumpland, where protests are likely to be disbanded quickly by Cossacks on horseback.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
