Nancy Pelosi calls for an investigation to find out if the Russians are blackmailing Donald Trump.

Courtesy of The Hill:

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) on Sunday reiterated her demand that the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe President Trump’s ties to Russia.

She made the call one day after Trump downplayed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s human rights record by questioning whether the United States, which has a long record of extrajudicial killings, is pure on the matter.

“I want to know what the Russians have on Donald Trump. I think we have to have an investigation by the FBI into his financial, personal and political connections to Russia and we want to see his tax returns so we can have truth in the relationship [with] Putin, whom he admires,” Pelosi said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Pelosi made the same demand on Jan. 13 after a closed-door briefing by U.S. intelligence officials about Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. The CIA has concluded that Russian intelligence tried to swing the election in Trump’s favor.

Trump’s relationship with Putin has come under scrutiny again after he told Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly on Saturday that he respects the Russian president, who has cracked down on political opposition, non-government advocacy groups and domestic critics.

I think that this absolutely HAS to be done.

However the problem is that James Comey heads the FBI and we all know that he has NO intention of investigating the guy that he endangered his career to help to win the election.

UNLESS of course he received enough pressure from both the Democratic and Republican politicians in Washington.

    Has Putin Poisoned Another Opponent?
One of the Russian leader’s most dedicated critics—a crusader for civil society—now lies in a death-like coma. And it’s not the first time.

Vladimir Kara-Murza took ill on the train back from Tver, where he had just exhibited a film commemorating the life of slain Russian dissident and former deputy prime minister Boris Nemtsov. “He joked that maybe Siberia hadn’t agreed with him,” according to a mutual friend. Evidently remote from his mind was that he was about to befall the same catastrophic shutdown of his body that nearly cost him his life two years ago.

  6. This should NOT BE UP TO COMEY. While our country is teetering on the very edge of disastrous consequences, we have to face the insanity of our failed, "so called" leadership who're still engaging in appropriate decorum and protocol!

These fucking assclowns have gone so far down the rabbit hole, they can't see that big mushroom cloud heading this way and Putin's face is all over that bomb.

I've had my moments over the course of my life when I felt that cold fear in the pit of my stomach - most of you know what I'm talking about. The threat of nuclear war has been slowly, steadily, growing more likely every year and we KNOW it's not only possible - it's become - "when" instead of "what if".

While these fucktards in Washington continue normalizing the events over the past few weeks - while they remain fixated on the next election cycle, it proves beyond our worst nightmares, they have lost their fucking minds as the entire world reacts to this monster force unleashed on humanity.

I'm not a crazy, "the sky is falling" kind of nutcase. We need to demand impeachment NOW.

    The fuck??!!?

Twitter Inc. takes legal action in court against its most infamous user, Donald Trump

    https://www.palmerreport.com/opinion/twitter-inc-takes-legal-action-against-its-most-infamous-user-donald-trump/1399/

Is Donald Trump laying the groundwork for removing embattled Steve Bannon from the NSC?

The embarrassing leaks pouring out of Donald Trump’s White House are now coming so fast and furious that we have to assume these details are being leaked strategically by senior advisors who are trying to sabotage each other, rather than merely by loose lips who can’t stop talking. And yet so many of these leaks have been given directly to newspaper reporters, it’s safe to assume these leaks are indeed valid. So it raises the question of why Trump is suddenly leaking that he didn’t bother to read the executive order placing Steve Bannon on the National Security Council.

...It sure does look like Donald Trump is laying the groundwork for yanking Steve Bannon from the NSC, either because he doesn’t like Bannon’s newfound popularity, or because he doesn’t like the legal mess it’s made.

This should be really interesting, if the FBI isn’t forth coming with the info, Congress will need the DOJ to issue subpoenas. Good luck with that.

However, it will also look very shady if they don’t come up with anything.

Again, why aren’t they contacting the CIA, since Russia is a foreign country, at least for now?

Fox News and the Trump administration are working together to discredit the anti-Trump protesters because the protests are working. The Trump administration is drowning in a sea of bad press and poll numbers that are being caused by people refusing to sit down and be silent while the President violates our values as a country.

The protests are loud, strong, and effective. No amount of Fox News/Trump propaganda can reverse the tidal wave of rejection that is crashing down on Donald Trump.

White House Promises To Provide A List To Support Trump’s Lie That Terror Attacks Go Unreported

...“We’ll provide a list later. There’s several instances … There’s a lot of instances that have occurred where I don’t think they’ve gotten the coverage it deserved.”

CNN Considers Banning Kellyanne Conway While Conway – Naturally – Lies About it

...It turns out that Conway, who got caught out in a lie about a nonexistent massacre in Bowling Green and then defended herself with a debunked news report – a lie to cover a lie – has actually referred to the Bowling Green “massacre” before, not just once, but twice, to Cosmopolitan Magazine and also to TMZ, both on January 29, before repeating the lie to Chris Matthews on February 2.

And now she is calling those who criticized her lies “haters” – apparently in the Trump administration something worse than liars.

She says she misspoke. She didn’t. She lied and kept repeating that lie until she got caught. And now she’s lying about lying, calling honest people “haters” and lying some more about the loss of any credibility she still had.

Democrats Are Breaking Mitch McConnell As Majority Leader Whines About Trump Nominee Blockade

Senate Democrats are blocking President Trump's nominees. Judging by Sen. Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) whining remarks on the Senate floor, the efforts are getting under the skin of the Majority Leader.

Sen. McConnell said, “Democrat obstruction has reached new extreme levels as the smallest number of cabinet officials have been confirmed in modern history at this point in a presidency. It’s a historic break in tradition. A departure from how newly elected presidents of both parties have been treated in decades past.”

The obstruction of Obama Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland was also a departure from the way presidents of both parties have been treated in decades past. After Sen. McConnell’s years of obstructing President Obama, he doesn’t have a leg to stand on when he complains about the tactics being used against President Trump.

Both McConnell and the White House have been complaining routinely about the Democratic slow walking of Trump’s nominees.

The Senate Democratic behavior is no surprise. In December 2016, Senate Democrats announced that they would be slow walking all of Trump’s nominees, and McConnell has been powerless to stop them.

So now in order to justify his botched MooseLamb ban, trump is saying it is all the media’s fault because they hide terrorist attacks from the public on purpose.

A PBS reporter asked the WH to clarify exactly which terrorist attack they didn’t report-WH hasn’t responded. Probable scrambling to make another one up, since Bowling Green didn’t fool anyone.

When are the men in the white coats going to pay him a visit.
    =============================
Trump just accused the “dishonest press” of intentionally covering up terrorist attacks

“Radical Islamic terrorists are determined to strike our homeland, as they did on 9/11, as they did from Boston to Orlando to San Bernardino and all across Europe. You’ve seen what happened in Paris and Nice. All over Europe. It’s happening. It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported, and in many cases, the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it. They have their reasons, and you understand that.”

Humane Society Threatens Legal Action Over Scrubbed Animal Facility Records

The Humane Society of the United States announced Monday that it could pursue legal action against the United States Department of Agriculture for its removal of inspection reports for thousands of animal facilities across the country, including zoos, labs and breeders.

The database of reports, which the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) keeps in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and the Horse Protection Act, was removed from the USDA’s website late last week, following what the APHIS said in a statement Friday was “a comprehensive review of the information it posts on its website for the general public to view.”

APHIS said the information, including reports valuable to activists and journalists on which facilities and individuals had been charged with infractions, would still be available to those who filed Freedom of Information Act requests. ......
The Humane Society said this new arrangement violated a 2009 settlement it reached with the USDA concerning access to information collected under the Animal Welfare Act.

.. “The agency’s precipitous decision to purge virtually all AWA and HPA enforcement documentation – just two weeks after President Trump assumed office — violates the plain terms of the settlement and a federal court order. It also runs contrary to congressional provisions in 1996 and 2016 designed to increase transparency and electronic access to information.”

Former FBI Agent: We Must Get to the Truth on Russia and Trump

...And when BuzzFeed made the now-infamous dossier on President Trump public, boy, did I jump on that. So what does this old Cold Warrior think? Well, plenty.

What struck me the most about the dossier was the description of methods used by the Russians in regard to potential recruitment of the target as an asset and to move money. My initial thought was that after all these years, nothing has changed. It was very familiar. I know nothing more than you do as to whether or not the allegations are true (House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wants an investigation into whether Trump can be blackmailed over what's alleged in the dossier). It's my opinion that some details aren’t and there is a good chance some are. I base that on the reputation of the source of the dossier, the former MI6 agent now in hiding and the fact that our intelligence agencies made the call to add a two-page synopsis of the allegations to their classified report sent to President Obama and then President-elect Trump. Believe me, this was not a decision made lightly.

Donald Trump’s Pre-Super Bowl Interview Ratings Lower Than Barack Obama’s Figures

Donald Trump sat down on Sunday afternoon with Fox News for the president’s now-customary pre-Super Bowl interview. The segment with “O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly, which aired during Fox Broadcasting’s pre-game coverage around 4 p.m., drew an average audience of 12.2 million viewers.

Here at last we have a true apples-to-apples comparison for a television event with Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama — or at least as close to one as we’re going to get for a while — and it’s not very flattering for the current Commander-in-Chief.

President Obama’s first pre-Super Bowl interview, with NBC’s Matt Lauer in 2009, brought in an average audience of 21.9 million viewers in Nielsen’s final accounting. The half-hour of 2011’s Super Bowl pre-game coverage — which included O’Reilly’s highly anticipated interview with Obama — attracted an average audience of 17.3 million. In 2016, Obama’s interview drew 14.9 million; in 2015, 16.4 million; in 2014, 18 million.

The Trump-O’Reilly interview drew a 7.8 household rating in Nielsen’s metered market overnight ratings. President Obama’s last three sit-downs before the Super Bowl drew overnight household ratings of 9.2, 10.2, and 11.5; his first, a 9.6.

Don’t look now: It’s President Pence! Donald Trump can be deposed, even without impeachment

Donald Trump is in over his head. This comes as no surprise to the millions of people who could see that he was unprepared and unfit for the job of president of the United States and voted against him. He’s basically a celebrity heir to a fortune who was so entitled that he believed his privileged existence proved he was competent to run the most powerful nation on Earth. That’s the attitude of an aristocrat who ascended to the throne without having any idea what it actually takes to rule. History’s full of such men. It doesn’t often work out well.

...Of course it’s an extreme long shot that members of Trump’s Cabinet or the Republican leadership in Congress would ever take such a drastic step. (Although it’s not at all hard to imagine that in their hearts many of them would prefer President Mike Pence.) This would only happen if Trump really started to behave in a unhinged fashion. After all the bizarre behavior he has exhibited over the past 18 months, one cannot help but wonder: What could possibly count as going too far? It’s almost too terrifying to imagine.

Two North Dakota Representatives have some pretty outdated ideas for how women should be spending their Sunday mornings.

In their defense of North Dakota’s “Blue Laws” ― which require some businesses to open late on Sunday mornings and some businesses to stay closed altogether ― Representatives Bernie Satrom and Vernon Laning seemed to express that Sunday mornings should be spent time traveling back to the norms of the 1950s rather than running errands.

According to Satrom, women should spend their Sunday mornings bringing their husbands breakfast in bed.

Satrom said that Sundays should be devoted to “spending time with your wife, your husband...Making him breakfast, bringing it to him in bed and then after that go take your kids for a walk.”

It used to be that Sunday morning was when the family went to church. Blue Laws were originally in place to encourage church attendance and to keep men out of bars. They had nothing to do with serving men breakfast in bed. Next these legislators will require that the wives dress exclusively in Victoria's Secret lingerie on Sunday mornings. What nincompoops.

Virginia AG Welcomes Home Libyan Student Who Was Almost Banned Before She Could Graduate

In the week since President Donald Trump’s ban on refugees and travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries, Najwa Elyazgi wasn’t sure she’d make it back to the United States at all, let alone in time to finish her final semester at George Mason University.

After spending a week stranded and alone in Istanbul, Elyazgi finally got home late on Saturday. Before her plane landed at Washington Dulles International Airport, she received a call from Virginia’s Democratic attorney general, Mark Herring, who had sued the Trump administration on her behalf days earlier.

“I’ll be there to welcome you,” Herring said on the call.

Sure enough, he was at the airport to greet the 23-year-old college senior, a Libyan citizen who has been studying in the U.S. since 2014.

“Najwa is a bright, accomplished young woman,” Herring told The Huffington Post on Sunday. “She did not deserve what happened to her.”

I don't even know anyone that reads actual old-timey magazines so I think anyone I'd give one to would just pop them into the recycling bin just like all of the other magazine-type junk mail we get in our mail bins.

  22. I hate - HATE - no chin McConnell. It morbidly fascinates me to watch this pompous ass now blather on about respecting the rules after the way he disrespected the nomination to fill the vacant SCOTUS seat - I remember thinking how much it didn't make any sense for him to be so vehemently opposed to the process with a YEAR still left - and how did he even know it was only delaying the inevitable?!

Now I think I know why he seemed so freaking sure the next prez would absolutely deliver an alt right nominee - I believe he KNEW about the Russian interference way back then.

Think about that. It makes my blood run cold. Speculation? Yep! Crazy theory? Nope!

The “paid protest” lie: The Trump White House is trying to delegitimize public protest

With a hand from Fox News, Donald Trump is arguing that anyone who protests against him is in it only for money

...Just as the president argues that he lost the popular vote only through illegitimate votes, the administration and its enablers at Fox News are trying to make it seem like there is no legitimate public opposition to the administration. They assert that the protests aren’t “organic,” which means they’re manufactured and full of people who are there only because someone is paying them to show up. It’s an absurd lie that requires you to disregard common sense and what you can see with your own eyes. An estimated 3 million people turned out to protest the day after the inauguration in towns and cities all across the country: How many of those people are we supposed to believe were “professional protesters” who were paid to attend? And who, exactly, is footing the bill for all this paid protesting?

The irony here is that there’s one person we know for sure has paid people to show up and voice a prefabricated political message: Donald Trump. In the summer of 2015, Trump arranged for actors to show up at Trump Tower and cheer and wave signs as he announced his candidacy for president, offering them $50 for their services. And, in typical Trump fashion, he tried to stiff the agency that set up his Potemkin campaign launch.

repare for March 15th, 2017, a day hereafter to be known as #TheIdesOfTrump

Write one postcard. Write a dozen! Take a picture and post it on social media tagged with #TheIdesOfTrump ! Spread the word! Everyone on Earth should let Donnie know how he’s doing. They can’t build a wall high enough to stop the mail.

Then, on March 15th, mail your messages to:
President (for now) Donald J. Trump
      The White House
      1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
      Washington, DC 20500

It might just be enough to make him crack.

Cut and paste to pass this on."

I think an independent investigation of Trump's ties to Russia should be the foundation of all resistance efforts. Added to that, should be demand for an investigation into the information Russia hacked from the RNC but chose not to publish.

I can't fathom why the Senate is considering any Trump nominees while his financial dealings and blackmail possibilities remain unknown.

Instead of filling the Sunday talk shows with Republicans members of Congress and residents of Trump's White House Liars Club, why aren't the show hosts inviting Democrats? They sure filled their time slots during the Obama administration with representatives of the opposition.
