If you are seeing this for the first time today I imagine that you are having the same epiphany that I had last night.
I mean the links were always there and I kind of understood bits and pieces of it, but damn this just brings it into total clarity.
And the thing that I find so amazing is that Trump is really not trying to hide any of this.
He is literally so incredibly arrogant that he thinks he can rub our noses in these Russian connections and we will do nothing to hold him accountable.
So what we have to ask ourselves is, "Is he right?"
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Okay drop everything and watch this Rachel Maddow clip about how many of Trump's strange campaign and administration picks make perfect sense from a Russian perspective. I'm serious, stop what you are doing.

What is evident is that Trump is in deep trouble and has no control over his own Cabinet. Not only are his Russki co-conspirators controlling his life, he has Stephen Bannan eating at him on the inside like cancer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dupe is Trump. Somebody says something nice about him (and probably gives him $$$) and Putin is his daddy.
DeleteTalk about a soft-center, just gooey-eyed for praise his father didn't give him?

This woman is overdue for Pulitzer.
ReplyDeleteSadly, Pulitzers are not for broadcast news or opinion.
DeleteIt may take a while to nail down the facts of the Trump-Russia connections, but his violation of the emoluments clause is here and now, doing financial damage to DC hotels, just for starters. Let's get the ball rolling!
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna piss some people off...LOL!
ReplyDeleteAn auction for rights to books by Barack and Michelle Obama has set a new record for U.S. presidential memoirs, according to a report by the Financial Times.
The auction has reached more than $60 million, the Financial Times reported, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the sales process. The Obamas are writing separate books but selling the global rights jointly.

Several publishers including Penguin Random House, which published Mr Obama’s previous three books, and HarperCollins, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, have expressed interest in the most hotly anticipated publishing deal of the year.
Simon & Schuster, which is owned by CBS, and Macmillan, are also in the mix for the joint deal. A win by HarperCollins would bring the Obamas into the same publishing house as Bill O’Reilly, the author and Fox News Channel presenter who has been one of the former president’s fiercest critics.
Penguin Random House is leading the pack for the Obamas’ joint publishing deal, according to those briefed on the auction, with a decision on the winning bid expected imminently. The publisher declined to comment, as did Robert Barnett, Mr Obama’s literary agent, who is fielding offers on behalf of the former president. A spokesman for Mr Obama also declined to comment.
The sum offered would eclipse other book deals secured by departing presidents. Knopf, a division of Penguin Random House, paid $15m for the rights to Bill Clinton’s 2004 memoirs My Life when he left the White House, while George W Bush made an estimated $10m from his book Decision Points, which was published by Crown.

Delete$arah flaunts her stupidity, as usual.
DeleteThis was particularly chilling when I watched it this morning. And I agree that Rachel is overdue for a Pulitzer, yes!
ReplyDeleteShe admits that she is still putting the pieces together but she is so diligent and so astute and articulate in her explanations as she does, anyone who doesn't have chills of fear and dread after watching this needs their head examined. HE IS OWNED by Russia. Every facet of his administration has verifiable ties. We can't let ignorance and denial make this a non-story. Russia is NOT fake news!

I just watched that video and can't believe that, with all of those glaring connections, the GOP is still claiming that there's nothing to investigate.
DeleteObviously Trump is deeply indebted to Russia, and more damning information is being exposed every day. Even considering their eagerness to manipulate Trump into passing their despicable agenda, their willingness to allow our historic political foe to have this much control over our government makes you wonder how many of them are involved as well.
Their complicity in the cover-up of this potential treason clearly demonstrates their reprehensible allegiance to party, power and greed over country.
Did congress vote to prevent Donald's tax returns being seen? Yep.
DeleteNearly every Republican voted to kill Democrat Pascrell’s resolution and keep Trump’s tax returns secret. No Republicans voted to require Trump to hand over his tax returns. (Two Republicans, including Mark Sanford of South Carolina, voted “present.”)
Those returns must be very damaging to T and to the saps who support him in government.
Now what? There are other avenues... but to see the Republicans cave to this Dictator does not bode well. How dumb do they think their "base" is? or it this just another Trump as Victim story as far they they are concerned. Just like Palin's sorry followers.
It is very disheartening to watch, but Rachel is great. We are not alone.
Obama said months ago, "The future rewards those who press on. I don't have time to feel sorry for myself. I don't have time to complain. I'm going to press on."
I think he is deathly afraid of what will come out but he is at the mercy of the Russians now. Hence all this fake news BS, but he still has to obey Putin and pick all those Ruskie-friendly gangsters for cabinet positions.
ReplyDeleteHe most certainly does not like the journalists poking their noses into that.
I think he is sweating like the pig he is.
It will all come out in the wash! Rachel did a sterling job last night.
Lol. You have had too many glasses of wine A broken clock has a better track record of being correct than Maddow. She loves to string along you suckers with useless conspiracy for the ratings though.
DeleteWell now we know you are on drugs 3:37.
DeleteRachel Maddow has one of the best records for accurate reporting in the entire country.
She has a crack staff and she is often well ahead of other news outlets in covering a story.
Spoken like a true fan Gryph.

Now, back to the drugs.
ReplyDeleteHouse Democratic women are wearing white — a symbol of women’s suffrage — to Trump’s speech
They’re sending a clear message to the president on women’s rights.
The effort is being led by Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL), chair of the House Democratic Women’s Working Group. That working group includes all 66 Democratic women members and delegates of the US House of Representatives, many of whom are expected to participate in the action.
“We wear white to unite against any attempts by the Trump administration to roll back the incredible progress women have made in the last century, and we will continue to support the advancement of all women,” Frankel said in a statement. “We will not go back.”
According to the statement, Women’s Working Group members are fighting for women’s rights like equal pay, paid sick and family leave, retirement security, the right to live “lives free from fear and violence,” and access to affordable child care and affordable health care — “including reproductive health services like those offered by Planned Parenthood.”

DeleteFBI once planned to pay former British spy who authored controversial Trump dossier
ReplyDeleteThe former British spy who authored a controversial dossier on behalf of Donald Trump’s political opponents alleging ties between Trump and Russia reached an agreement with the FBI a few weeks before the election for the bureau to pay him to continue his work, according to several people familiar with the arrangement.
The agreement to compensate former MI6 agent Christopher Steele came as U.S. intelligence agencies reached a consensus that the Russians had interfered in the presidential election by orchestrating hacks of Democratic Party email accounts.

tRUMP will pardon all HIS rich motherfuckers, "We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes."
@1:37 ~ I am often amazed at how much 45* reminds me of Leona "only the little people pay taxes" Helmsley.
DeleteThe reason i put an asterisk after 45 is because of the Writ of Mandamus 16-907 before the SCOTUS on March 17th to NULLIFY the 2016 election because of Russian interference, and the intent of our group is to make 45 a fucken (Vicente's delightful spelling) footnote in history. DeleteElection Nullification Petition Is Distributed To SCOTUS Justices
ReplyDelete...According to the filers, there is more than sufficient evidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally ordered an “influence campaign” to sway public favor towards Donald Trump to put him in the White House. And they cited the then-recently declassified report detailing the extent of Russian interference based on the release of the report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
The writ being placed on the High Court’s docket is rare according to “SCOTUS estimates that just 0.01 percent of cases” filed with the High Court are ever granted “plenary” review with oral arguments. At the time of filing the petitioners understood that the “odds were stacked against them,” but now that the “writ is on the docket” for the Justices to review, they are holding out more hope that the odds are now in their favor.

I wish i could like this a thousand times!
DeletePeople are becoming aware of this petition (16-907), and it just blows my mind how this has been jetted through the system of lower court denials and appeals. This Writ of Mandamus started after the election, was through the courts by January 17th, and was considered for conference by February 21st! I was greatly heartened when it passed the first round and was distributed for conference March 17th. I've often wondered if this fancy footwork has Barack Obama's DNA all over it... so skillful.
Judging (#pardonthepun) from the Justices' collective faces, last night, at 45* whispering "i will kill you all" for 61 minutes, they are properly horrified.

ReplyDeleteThis is the next 8 years.
we will do nothing to hold him accountable.
ReplyDeleteSo what we have to ask ourselves is, "Is he right?"
===============
Excuse me for saying so, but if it were up to the American public the investigations would have started weeks ago.
It is the republicans in Congress that are unwilling to face the truth.
In the end, like with Watergate, it is going to be the media that takes him down.
They will publish the story that even Congress will not be able to hide from.
I just hope there is something left of USA to salvage.
As for his bigly speech tonight, one conservative pundit on PBS really hit the nail on the head what trump is looking for out of his speech-most watched.
Pretty low bar if you ask me.
It's now 10:39 in the east and I didn't watch the mother effer's speech.
DeletePart of the problem is that few want to admit that Russia could pull this off. I get that, it hurts!
ReplyDeleteBut pretending it didn't happen and continue following along with Putin's puppet sure as hell isn't the answer. It is literally the worst action that could be taken. No, Russia isn't going to leave us alone four years from now if we play along. They'll be here to stay.
Going back to the original post, here is the article that Rachel used as the basis for her reporting:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.dcreport.org/wilbur-ross-comes-to-d-c-with-a-long-and-profitable-history-of-russian-connections/?preview_id=944
"Moreover, in at least three cases, [the fertilizer king's] Airbus A319M-KATE showed up at very same airports, where candidate Trump was – in the North Carolina cities of Charlotte and Concord and in Las Vegas, for example. Indeed, in the case of Charlotte, local photographers took pictures of M-KATE and the Trump campaign jet at the very same airport on November 3, 2016."
Chilling. The noose is getting tighter.
