The White House is in turmoil? Well gee I would think so.

Courtesy of Axios:

A top source described "borderline chaos" in the White House.

"Some staff is in survival mode ... scared to death," the source said.

Internal leaks distract a White House. What we're seeing now is something much more consequential: leaks from throughout the government, plus a host of Obama alumni emptying their clips.

The news eruptions are gaining a Watergate aura — constant, complicated revelations from intelligence agencies and federal law enforcement; White House denials; frenzied competition among the great news organizations.

Chuck Todd said at 5 p.m. on MSNBC (as quoted by Brian Stelter): "Welcome to Day 1 of what is arguably the biggest presidential scandal involving a foreign government since Iran-Contra. ... [H]unker down, because this is a Class 5 political hurricane that's hitting Washington."

All of that has to be driving Trump up the damn wall.

However as bad as all of that is, and whoa baby is it bad, there is another potential volcanic eruption just now building up steam.

Courtesy of US Weekly:

While her husband, Donald Trump, wields his power as president, first lady Melania Trump is struggling with the realities of her new role and the scrutiny that comes with it, insiders reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly. “This life wasn’t her dream. It was Donald’s,” Trump family friend and stylist Phillip Bloch tells Us. “Truthfully, it’s a lot to cope with.”

Indeed, her unconventional living arrangement — she's staying in New York City while son Barron, 10, finishes school — has already made her a late-night punch line. (Jimmy Kimmel quipped February 8 that she’s “trapped like Rapunzel” in her Trump Tower penthouse.) Vogue faced boycott threats after editor Anna Wintour said on February 9 that she expected Melania, 46, to appear on a future cover. And Melania's libel lawsuit against U.K. paper Daily Mail, which she claims harmed her “unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity … to launch a broad-based commercial brand,” has opened her up to criticism that she intends to cash in on the presidency.

The deluge has reportedly become too daunting for the deeply private Sevnica, Slovenia, native, who moved to the United States in 1996 to launch a fashion career — not to preside over the East Wing. “Melania is unhappy with how her life ended up,” alleges a family source. “She is miserable.”

Personally I think this story is one of those that we all could have pieced together on our own just observing Trump and his Slovenia mail order bride together and then utilizing our  critical thinking skills.

Let's face it she looks like the unhappiest First lady that we have ever seen.

There is very little affection shown between the two of them and she is now spending as much time away from the White House as possible considering her new responsibilities.

So yeah, Trump is truly stuck between a rock and a hard ice covered place.

Gosh isn't being president great?

3:05 PM - Imagine actual White House staff. Maids, etc. and how they were treated by the Obamas compared to what's in there now. I'm sure they're in heavy grief mode. I would be.

It's not like they didn't know what was coming.

They had from November 9 to January 20 to get their resumes polished up and hunt up another job.

As prestigious as the White House? No. Paid as well? Probably not. But money and prestige isn't everything. (Just as a teacher) It's much more important to have safe and congenial working conditions. We know that wasn't going to be happening under Trump so they shouldn't be surprised.

It's not too late. If I were them I'd get out now. Unemployment is better than what they're working under now. Being a Walmart Greeter is preferable. A cardboard box under the freeway is preferable.

They may be waiting it out until he's gone. But that's iffy and in the meantime they have to put up with the psycho and if he decides to launch the nukes they are at retaliatory ground zero. No bunker for them.

    3. Poor turtle. I will never understand this sort of senseless animal cruelty. I've heard of drives that go out of their way to aim and run over turtles crossing roads during migration and mating season.

As if that isn't cruel enough, they then have to beat up a veteran who is obviously not in the physical condition to even defend himself.

Then when caught, they have the nerve to LIE?

If it weren't for them being black I would have guessed they were Deplorables taking a page from the Trump excuse bible.

At least Melania gets a bit of a break from the FF by staying in NYC. I could not imagine having to touch that jabba-ish blob of nastiness even if I had all the gold gilding in the world. Which she does.

Wanna bet that Barron ends up staying at his special school for the next academic year? I don't think the boy likes his sperm donor either. And don't go all whack on me when I state the obvious: the child definitely displays signs of autism. Not criticizing or judging - just observing. Whatever is going on with Barron, he sure as heck doesn't need the daily chaos that is created by his so-called father.

There is a bizarre irony here, too. We all know by now that Trump always accuses other people of what he's guilty of. So, with regard to his young son, he never encounters an educator without complaining about autism and its causes, yet he has never admitted that his son is anything but brilliant, athletic, and perfect. That child has to endure having Trump as a parent in addition to whatever condition he may have. It's actually a good thing that his mother is keeping him behind in NYC; her con artist husband just shouldn't be charging the American people for the mess that their private lives are.

As one who survived it, emotional and verbal abuse are just as hurtful, perhaps even more so, than physical abuse. Bruises fade, bones mend. But the constant wearing down of your sanity and self-esteem lasts a long time. Not that I'm excusing physical abuse; I'm not. If one stays in an abusive situation, the woman thinks she *may* be killed. If she leaves, she knows she *will" be killed. So I do have some sympathy for Melania as a likely abused woman. But not for the way her life turned out.

    2. She doesn't give a shit about bullying. Well, she'd probably love for her husband to stop bullying her. And I'm sure she's had to comfort Barron from being bullied at school. But that speech and that subject was foisted on her, probably by Donald himself or at his direction. She is totally unprepared to do anything in the way of public service and she's certainly not qualified to do anything about the bullying epidemic in this country. Plus, what is she going to do when her own husband is not only the poster boy for bullying but is actually encouraging bullying. Who would be more effective? Melania saying no or Donald saying go ahead and do it.

This does create a question: the president runs for office, basically applies for the job. Most candidates wives have already sacrificed their own lives to be their husband's campaign spouse.

But Trump's never been in office before. Melania wasn't required to "have a job" in Trump's empire. Now, the expectation is that she does a job, one she didn't apply for or actively seek.
