According to poll two thirds of Americans support an investigation into Trump's ties with Russia.

Courtesy of CNN:

About two-thirds of Americans say a special prosecutor should investigate contacts between Russians and Trump campaign associates, according to a new CNN/ORC poll, and 55% say they are at least somewhat concerned by reports that some connected to the Trump campaign had contact with suspected Russian operatives.

Concerns about the reported contacts are closely tied to partisanship, with 71% of Democrats saying they are "very concerned" about it while 54% of Republicans say they have no concerns "at all" about the reports.

Among Republicans, a majority feel Congress can handle the investigation, but a sizable 43% support the call for a special prosecutor, as do majorities of Democrats (82%) and independents (67%). Overall, the poll finds that 65% would rather see a special prosecutor handle the investigation, while 32% think Congress is capable of handling it.

Yes let's have the Republican majority in Congress lead an investigation into the possible criminal activity of the president who is now picking the next Supreme Court justice.

What could we possibly not trust that?

No we need a special prosecutor with no real ties to either party to investigate this. Only then will we be satisfied that we are getting only the facts

    Donald Trump’s Worst Deal

The President helped build a hotel in Azerbaijan that appears to be a corrupt operation engineered by oligarchs tied to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

...The Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku project was spearheaded by Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, who repeatedly visited the property and posted photos of herself touring it, even though as best anyone can tell the hotel was never going to open or do any business. It appears in hindsight that Ivanka had merely been doing all of this in order to create the outward appearance that the hotel was a legitimate project.

But as it turns out, the hotel deal had been struck with Ziya Mammadov, the corrupt Transportation Minister of Azerbaijan, who has a history of arranging shady real estate projects as money laundering fronts. Mammadov and his family have deep financial connections to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, making it almost certain that the Trumps were knowingly and illegally doing business with Iran. It also seems likely that Trump shuttered the project upon taking office in the hope it wouldn’t be investigated.

Bombshell report links Trump hotel to corrupt Azerbaijan oligarchs and Iranian terror group

President Donald Trump and his eldest daughter developed a hotel in Azerbaijan that appears to be a corrupt operation run by a family known as “the Corleones of the Caspian” with links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

The Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku — conceived in 2008 as a luxury apartment building but converted in 2014 into a hotel — has never opened, and both local observers and international experts are baffled by the building’s existence, reported The New Yorker.

The project was intended as an “ultra-luxury property” with both hotel and residential space, but both its location and timing are odd, according to the report.

The whole thing looks even shadier when one considers statements from a former official with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Tourism. He says of the Trump property:

“Why would someone put a luxury hotel there? Nobody who can afford to stay there would want to be in that neighborhood.”

So, in other words, they have a dormant hotel in a shitty neighborhood for what legitimate purpose exactly? It also turns out that the aforementioned Ziya Mammadov, along with his brother Elton Mammadov are the ones who signed off on this sham property. It also helps to know that this whole family is corrupt to the core and basically make their money through government corruption. They also have suspicious ties to the Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. This is a terrorist cell that engages in things like trafficking drugs and sponsoring terrorist activities.

Of course, one of Trump’s equally shady lawyers, Alan Garten, has already brushed aside the claims, saying that all Trump did was lend his name to the building has no real ties to this whole corrupt mess. The thing is, though, there is money going into Trump’s pockets via this deal – to a tune of at least $2.8 million, perhaps more. To that end, do not expect any sort of rebuke of this corruption and sponsoring of terrorism from the Trump Administration.

Constitutional expert Laurence Tribe says Donald Trump can be impeached for false Obama wiretap claim

“Using his office to accuse the prior POTUS of an impeachable felony in reckless disregard of truth while implying security briefings. Gave him unique access to evidence confirming that accusation is a high crime that could properly form an Article of Impeachment. Trump’s accusation of lawless wiretap by Obama, unlike the racist claims Trump made as a private citizen about Obama’s birth, was made by Trump as POTUS, with strong suggestion he had ‘just learned’ in that capacity about Obama’s alleged crime, was a grave abuse of power of presidency to slander a private citizen as well as a former president, an abuse I’d classify as a high crime against the nation and one of its most distinguished citizens. Given GOP control of both House & Senate, talk of Impeachment & removal from office seems premature, but this is one big straw atop an already weakened camel’s back.”

WikiLeaks Releases Trove of Alleged C.I.A. Hacking Documents

WikiLeaks on Tuesday released thousands of documents that it said described sophisticated software tools used by the Central Intelligence Agency to break into smart phones, computers and even Internet-connected televisions.

If the documents are authentic, as appeared likely at first review, the release would be the latest coup for the anti-secrecy organization and a serious blow to the C.I.A., which maintains its own hacking capabilities to be used for espionage.

The initial release, which WikiLeaks said was only the first part of the document collection, included 7,818 web pages with 943 attachments, the group said. The entire archive of C.I.A. material consists of several hundred million lines of computer code, it said.

Among other disclosures that, if confirmed, will rock the tech world, the WikiLeaks release said that the C.I.A. and allied intelligence services had managed to bypass encryption on popular phone and messaging services such as Signal, WhatsApp and Telegram. According to the statement from WikiLeaks, government hackers can penetrate Android phones and collect “audio and message traffic before encryption is applied.”

The source of the documents was not named. WikiLeaks said the documents, which it called Vault 7, had been “circulated among former U.S. government hackers and contractors in an unauthorized manner, one of whom has provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive.”

WikiLeaks said the source, in a statement, set out policy questions that “urgently need to be debated in public, including whether the C.I.A.’s hacking capabilities exceed its mandated powers and the problem of public oversight of the agency.” The source, the group said, “wishes to initiate a public debate about the security, creation, use, proliferation and democratic control of cyberweapons.”

The documents, from the C.I.A’s Center for Cyber Intelligence, are dated from 2013 to 2016 and WikiLeaks described them as “the largest ever publication of confidential documents on the agency.” One former intelligence officer who briefly reviewed the documents on Tuesday morning said some of the code names for C.I.A. programs, an organization chart and the description of a C.I.A. hacking base appeared to be genuine.

A C.I.A. spokesman, Dean Boyd, said, “We do not comment on the authenticity or content of purported intelligence documents.”

WikiLeaks, which has sometimes been accused of recklessly leaking information that could do harm, said it had redacted names and other identifying information from the collection. It said it was not releasing the computer code for actual, useable cyberweapons “until a consensus emerges on the technical and political nature of the C.I.A.’s program and how such ‘weapons’ should be analyzed, disarmed and published.”

What the Hell Happened to the ‘Great’ Mark Levin?

...Levin has now, seemingly having been bitten by a rabid canine carrying the “Trumpsanity” virus, has turned into a full-on attack dog on behalf of Trump, even when he is dead wrong. While this has been evident for a while, it has become major national news in the last few days as it appears a commentary by Levin was the genesis for Trump claiming that then-President Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped during the election.

One of the strangest elements of this episode is that Trump claimed something VERY different from what even Levin was theorizing about. And yet, after the story exploded, Levin has gone out of this way to create the grossly inaccurate impression that Trump is correct in his preposterous accusation, all while making a completely different case, one which, if true, is actually horrible for Trump in the big picture.

What Levin is doing, in an obvious effort to help his King save face, is actually quite comical. He’s using a handful of anonymously sourced articles (which Trump supposedly hates) from publications he would never otherwise trust (part of Trump’s “fake news” crowd) to make an argument that there might have been a perfectly legal/legitimate effort to put some people in the Trump campaign under surveillance due to ties to Russia.

    1. Anonymous8:24 AM

The real question is what do the Russians have on Mark Levin?

  8. Anonymous7:27 AM

Washington Post reporter Robert Costa outlined to MSNBC's Chris Hayes how Trump ingests news every morning. It doesn't include the U.S. intelligence services, but instead he gets his news from his most trusted right wing sources before his staff gets in. To say it is frightening is an understatement.

Costa said that when Trump gathers his morning news, it's the old fashioned way, "every day he gets a printout, he doesn't use a computer, of articles about him about his presidency and he reviews them with a marker."

"It's a large pile of paper and he goes through them and he's reviewing a lot of articles from Breitbart and other different outlets on the right," he said.

Robert Costa also explained the genesis of Trump's allegations that President Obama ordered him wiretapped which just as scary. I mean, like The Exorcist scary.

Costa said, "And he is seeing these articles that mention Levin, that mention the quote "silent coup" from the so-called deep state that is going against him and this is echoing what he's hearing from his chief strategist Steve Bannon."

"And he keeps reading these materials on Thursday night. He wakes up early on Friday, he knows the senior staff is coming in and he knows he's heading to Mar-a-Lago; he pulls everyone into his Oval Office," he said.

Costa said that Trump says, "I keep reading all these articles about Obama going after me, there is some kind of silent coup in the eyes of Mark Levin and his staff is standing there listening to an irate president and then he goes in a huff off to Mar-a-Lago, leaving Bannon and Priebus behind."

This is just insane. Trump actually believes the crap Mark Levin is spewing is actually happening? That's his baseline for realistic thought?

Hayes was as incredulous as I am and said, "The President of the United States arguably has access to some of the most closely guard guarded information of any individual on the planet, the secrets of the United States. He's also someone who needs to depend on reliable information in order to -- in order to make decisions and what you're saying is that this information didn't come through some channel of a briefing or anything. This was him reading a printout of a Breitbart write-up of a Mark Levin radio monologue?"

While the full ramifications of the “Make America Sick Again” plan, (or as Republicans are calling it, the American Health Care Act) are still being discovered as everybody sifts through the 123-page bill, here is a quick overview of what is understood so far.
