It appears that Trump is a little nervous about James Comey's testimony today. Update!

These all came this morning, and don't exactly seem indicative of a guy who has nothing to hide.

In fact they seem petulant and overly defensive.

The Comey hearing is starting a few minutes.

Let's see what Trump tweets in response to THAT.

Update: This just made Trump's sphincter slam shut. Finally confirmation that the FBI is indeed investigating the Trump campaign's ties to Russia.

As Churchill said, "This may not be the end, or even the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning." This is our generation's Watergate 2.0 - promising to be even bigger, with treason committed by a whole cabal an outcome.

Well 9:40 there has been plenty of drawn out speculation and storytelling from the left wing blogs running with this story line over the last several months. And so far that is all is is, a bunch of rehashed speculation and left wing wishing, hoping, echo chamber chattering. Still lacking actual evidence or proof.

    7. Check out Keith Olbermann's The Resistance.

He thinks Trump should flee the country while the getting is good.

Trump will never give up Trump Tower and Mar-A Largo.

But he should be offshoring as much money as possible as a back up in case he does have to flee.

Now who do you think would take him in an harbor him from extradition? UAE? Qatar?

I'm guessing in the next few months, Trump will (try) to take his ball and go home - that is, he will resign a POTUS spouting "it's all a set up" and try to retreat to Mar A Lago, but will end up being dragged before court on numerous serious charges. And the repubs will pile on him to distract from their own collusion. This will all get fast tracked before Trump et al gets us into a war in Asia. Should be an interesting summer.

Comey Hearing Begins With A Bang As Adam Schiff Asks If Russia/Trump Collusion Was A Coincidence

...Schiff laid out all of the important “coincidences” involved in the Trump campaign’s relationship with Russia. He asked, “Is it possible that all of these events and reports are completely unrelated and nothing more than an entirely unhappy coincidence? Yes. It is possible, but it is also possible, maybe more than possible, that they are not coincidental, not disconnected, and not unrelated, and the Russians used the same techniques to corrupt US persons that they employed in Europe and elsewhere. We simply don’t know, and we owe it to the country to find out.”

Congressman Adam Schiff points to the Trump-Russia coverup being worse than the crime

...Appearing on Chuck Todd’s NBC show Meet The Press on Sunday morning, Congressman Schiff stated the following about Donald Trump and his campaign’s involvement with Russia during the campaign: “There is circumstantial evidence of collusion. There is direct evidence, I think, of deception. And that’s where we begin the investigation.” He went on to explain that there is a certain threshold of evidence necessary to “bring to a grand jury for purposes of a criminal indictment.”

That last part is not a strategy that Congress can legally use against a sitting President, so it was a clear reference to one or more of Donald Trump’s campaign co-conspirators on Russia. At this point there are too many names to choose from to be able to accurately guess whom Schiff might have been referring to with regard to potential criminal indictments. Roger Stone? Carter Page? J.D. Gordon? Jeff Sessions? Paul Manafort? Michael Flynn? Take your pick. But the real key here is Schiff’s emphasis on the “direct evidence of deception” being stronger than the evidence of collusion.

Heading into Russia hearings, Donald Trump’s approval rating sinks

...So it’s a big deal that Donald Trump’s Gallup approval rating has bottomed out today at 37%, just as the first Trump-Russia hearings are getting underway. If the broader attention brought to his Russia scandal serves to drive his approval rating another eight points lower, he’ll be in the twenties. At that point he’ll have no allies in government left, because no one from either party is willing to stand next to a president who’s that radioactive.

House Intel Committee’s Jackie Speier: multiple cabinet members involved in Trump-Russia scandal

“This is as big if not bigger than Watergate,” said Jackie Speier during an interview with MSNBC today, and she’s in a position to know. The Democratic Congresswoman sits on the House Intelligence Committee, whose hearings on Donald Trump and Russia get underway tomorrow, and she’s seen evidence the public hasn’t. In fact she appears to have just revealed a piece of the puzzle that wasn’t previously publicly known.

Speier pointed out that the two principals on her committee, chair Devin Nunes and ranking member Adam Schiff, currently have access to more classified information on Trump-Russia than she does. But even based on what she’s seen so far, she stated the following: “There is circumstantial evidence of an entire web that Putin put in place ensnaring many of the people who now have very respected positions within the U.S. cabinet.” And that sets off all the alarms.

New York Attorney General Steps Up Scrutiny of White House

Eric Schneiderman hires a public-corruption prosecutor to target the Trump administration

New York Attorney General hires Preet Bharara’s sidekick to go after Donald Trump

...And now that Trump’s self-interested firing of U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara has apparently freed up one of Bharara’s top prosecutors, Howard Master, it turns out Schneiderman has promptly hired Master. But it’s not merely a symbolic stab at Trump, because Master will be specifically targeting Trump’s ongoing financial crimes.

Because Donald Trump still technically lives at Trump Tower in New York and he’s registered the bulk of his businesses in the state, it means that Trump’s largely fraudulent financial empire remains under the jurisdiction of the New York Attorney General’s office – which can continue investigating and prosecuting him even though he now holds the title of president.

Comey Testimony Suggests Trump May Have Committed Impeachable Offense With Obama Wiretap Claim

...FBI Director James Comey completely wiped out President Trump’s claim that Obama wiretapped him. Comey said that the FBI has no evidence that Trump was ever wiretapped, and that it is impossible for presidents to order surveillance. Comey took apart every element of the Trump conspiracy.

The fact that the FBI Director has testified that the President Of The United States lied about a US intelligence operation is a potentially impeachable offense. Smearing Obama with libel was horrible, but Donald Trump, as Commander-In-Chief promoted a lie about the government that he is supposed to be leading.

Director James Comey just confirmed for the first time during a House intelligence committee hearing on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election that the FBI is investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 election, as well as possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Comey testified that the investigation has been going on since last July.

“I have been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election,” Comey told the House Intelligence Committee. “That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”

“If US campaign aides helped the Russians, knew about the Russians plans, or asked the Russians to intervene in any way, they should be prosecuted for treason and measures should be put in place to make sure this never happens again.”

Mook said those alleged activities should be punished to the fullest extent, if they are proven true.

“If we allow this practice to continue, Russia and other foreign nations could have a dangerously powerful influence on our legislative and executive branches,” he said. “We complain all the time about the influence of super PACs and campaign donations in our politics, which are real, because they punish officials who act contrary to their interests. Now, foreign powers are attempting to gain a similar influence and they must be stopped.”
