President Obama won yet another award because, you know, he was the best President ever.

Courtesy of the AP:

Former President Barack Obama was named the 2017 winner of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award on Thursday for carrying on his fellow Democrat's legacy.

"President Kennedy called on a new generation of Americans to give their talents to the service of the country," Kennedy's daughter, Caroline Kennedy, said in a statement. "With exceptional dignity and courage, President Obama has carried that torch into our own time, providing young people of all backgrounds with an example they can emulate in their own lives."

Caroline Kennedy and her son, Jack Schlossberg, will present Obama with the award May 7 at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.
The award is presented annually by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation to public servants who have made courageous decisions of conscience without regard for the personal or professional consequences. It is named for Kennedy's 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, "Profiles in Courage." The book tells the stories of eight U.S. senators who risked their careers by taking principled stands for unpopular positions.

"Faced with unrelenting political opposition, President Obama has embodied the definition of courage that my grandfather cites in the opening lines of 'Profiles in Courage': grace under pressure," Schlossberg said. "Throughout his two terms in office, he represented all Americans with decency, integrity, and an unshakeable commitment to the greater good."

Yes, yes he did.

I hear that Donald Trump is also up for an award from Russia.

I think it's something like "Most Easily Manipulated Russian Puppet" or something like that.

We DO miss our wonderful President Obama and First Lady Michelle. He was one of the best!

Donald Trump will NEVER be able to measure up to the quality, kindness, calmness and outstanding abilities as President Obama!

I agree, 4:57pm. President Obama was an excellent POTUS. He is a man who is confident & smart, yet not arrogant or boastful like his successor. He epitomizes the term "family man" and I envy Michelle and his daughters for having such a fantastic husband and dad. I do feel fortunate to have been alive during his presidency as I have some very grave concerns that this country will never be the same after President Chump is gone. President Obama is just getting started now and I've no doubt that he'll continue on making our country and world a better place for everyone. Long live Barack Obama!

How i miss a real President. A President who does not go golfing every weekend at his "Winter White house" Trump makes money on this by the way that's all he cares about.

We pay for his Mar A Lago shit. We pay for an absent First Lady who only likes Trump Towers and weekends in Florida at the tune of 3 million dollars every time she deigns to show up.

I am pissed and every thinking American should be! This can not be allowed to be the new norm. I think Trump has more important things to do and so doe's Melania Trump.

How "effing" low do we get? What's next? Kanye West? We have a President who is making money for his properties.

    This is not acceptable.

How many russians are members of Mar-a-Lago?

There has to be a more of a motive than making deals with American businessmen and screwing the taxpayers to keep going every weekend.

I was listening to Inside Europe this afternoon and they spent a bit of time discussing the French movement afoot to entice Barack Obama to run for French President.

For next year's award. I think President Obama certainly deserved the honor this year. Just a few weeks of Trump has made the entire world aware of the extreme differences between the two men.

LOL Sarah Palin won the award for pretending she had a Down Syndrome kid for eight years.

In truth she would get the award for raising the foulest-mouthed kids in Alaska.

I miss Ol' Stupid making us ROFL every second day. It's a bit sad that the media have turned their collective back on her because of the disgusting antics of those parasites she calls her kids.

If she's waiting for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Award, it's going to be a long one!

Sad that the media turned their backs, 7:40 PM? Seriously?? A product of their environment.

The complete list of historic recipients is rather interesting. McCain and Feingold won in 1999 and George HW Bush in 2014

President Kennedy would be proud. Grateful for the honor and recognition for President Obama and so very grateful to have lived through both their presidencies. Both ended too soon.

I saw photos recently of Theresa May visiting with small children. She looked extremely uncomfortable with them, much as Trump or his third wife do. Or, for that matter, most GOP politicians. Remember Romney with his grandchildren!

Coolest under pressure, check. He withstood racist slurs and attacks on his citizenship before and after his elections, and handled himself with grace under all kinds of pressure.

Smartest, certainly up there with the top few percent, given his acceptance into the best schools, and his accomplishments there, check.

Most compassionate, working as a low-paid community organizer to help the poor of Chicago find jobs, child care, health care, and affordable housing. So check, and eat dirt, Sarah. Community organizer counts for a lot.

Best looking, check, no question. And he can sing and dance.

Now we got this clueless old tub of lard in the WH patting himself on the back even as the rats leave his sinking ship of state.

The American people will have the last laugh as Trump keeps failing at everything, from his unconstitutional executive order banning Muslims to his attempt at burnishing his status as Commander in Chief by exploiting the grieving widow of a military man killed in a botched raid. "He's looking down and he's happy," Trump blathered. Right, happy to sacrifice his young life for a standing ovation. Stupid off the charts. Only when he's gone can America be great again.

Oh, but you have it wrong! It's all Obama's fault (as usual). /s. Trumplethinksin even tweeted something to the effect of it being 'Watergate all over again!" My irony meter just committed suicide at that. And his cultist base will swallow it hook, line, and sinker. As always.

Not likely something that drumpf WILL EVER DO or have in his pathetic, I WANT to be seen lifetime. Jealousy is all HE feels.
