The House Intelligence Chairman just tipped off Donald Trump and his associates that their communications were incidentally gathered by US intelligence agencies. Update!

Courtesy of CNN:

House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes said Wednesday that President Donald Trump's personal communications may have been picked up by investigators through "incidental collection."

Nunes said at a news conference he discovered the potential surveillance of Trump himself while reviewing intelligence reports, but said it was not related to Russia. "This is a normal, incidental collection, based on what I could collect," Nunes said.

"This appears to be all legally collected foreign intelligence under" the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Nunes said he alerted House Speaker Paul Ryan about the collection and is traveling to the White House Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm actually alarmed by it," Nunes said.

After making this statement to the press Nunes then ran over to the White House to tattle to Donald Trump that he was being surveilled, thereby tipping him, and his associates, off to the fact that they needed to be more careful and destroy any records of past communications that they may want to keep secret.

Keep in mind that his is "incidental collection" and does NOT mean that Trump himself, or members of his team, were being directly investigated.

As you might expect Twitter exploded after Nunes made an appearance outside the White House to inform the press of what he did.

This is story is still unfolding and I will update this post as more info becomes available.

Update: Rep. Adam Schiff weighs in.
This is all fucking unbelievable.

Update 2: Schiff now saying that evidence of collusion between Trump team and Russia "no longer circumstantial."
Holy shit! No wonder the Trump folks are in a blind panic.

Michael Moore Urges Democrats To ‘Declare A National Emergency’ Amid FBI Trump Probe

“Bring a halt to all business being done in the name of this potential felony suspect, Donald J. Trump.”

Filmmaker Michael Moore on Wednesday urged the Democratic Party to declare a national emergency after the FBI said it was investigating whether members of Donald Trump’s campaign team had worked with the Russian government to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

Of course, Moore made his point in a most engaging way on Instagram, using a red light — specifically, that of sentient computer HAL 9000 from “2001: A Space Odyssey” — to call on Democratic leaders to respond with full alarm to the “shock in our democracy.”

Republican Congressman Devin Nunes announced today that he’s gotten to the bottom of Donald Trump’s wiretap controversy. He’s claiming that Trump and his transition team were indeed under incidental surveillance, but that none of it was related to Russia. That sure is awfully convenient news for Donald Trump, at a time when Trump desperately needs a distraction. It’s also something Nunes just pulled out of his ass.

Here’s the thing about Devin Nunes: he’s the Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. He can demand to be briefed on classified information by the FBI, NSA, or any other U.S. intel agency. In fact he’s in a unique position to demand more detailed classified briefings than the non-ranking members of his committee. So where is Nunes claiming to have gotten this new revelation about the Trump wiretaps?

That’s right, Devin Nunes is admitting he didn’t get this information from an intel briefing or through any of the official channels he has access to. Politico is reporting the following jaw dropping sentence: “Nunes is going to the White House later Wednesday to brief the Trump administration on what he has learned, which he said came from ‘sources.'” That’s right, this is all just coming from some unidentified source of his. Even more absurdly, Nunes is claiming that this is coming from a source that even Donald Trump somehow doesn’t already have access to, despite being the president.

Nunes is pulling the same crap that Trump pulled when he definitively announced that President Obama had been wiretapping Trump Tower, based merely on empty speculation he’d from since-suspended Fox News commentator. Even worse, Nunes is now rushing to the White House to share this information with Donald Trump, despite the fact that Trump’s campaign is under active investigation by the FBI for related reasons. Not only did Devin Nunes inappropriately pull this claim out of his ass, he’s violating protocol by sharing it with Trump. Nunes must recuse himself from the House Intel Committee investigation immediately.

Well, Nunes obviously saw something on Breitbart News which tipped him off and so he raced down to the White House to tell Trump that Obama had indeed personally snuck into the basement of Trump Tower and wiretapped him. Thank gods for the non-fake Breitbart News, because otherwise, we never would have found out how innocent and patriotic our new administration truly is!

Dumbass Trump Slut Devin Nunes Needs To SIT. THE. FUCK. DOWN.

Republican Trump-sucking dildo rash Rep. Devin Nunes, chair of the House Intelligence Committee, is trying to shut down the investigation of Donald Trump’s collusion with Russia before it even begins. How do we know this? WELL, we can start with the presser he gave today, where he announced he has new “information” from “sources” that “shows” that the Trump transition team was “under surveillance,” but DON’T WORRY, it was just incidental, and it had NOTHING to do with Russia, so guess that story’s over, YAY! Now, we just need to focus on the OBAMA LEAKERS who “unmasked” the PURE AND INNOCENT Trump team what got tied up in all this nonsense ON ACCIDENT.

    Let’s go to the tape:

Nunes Grandstands For Trump, Says Transition Team Communications Collected

As more bad news rolls out for Donald Trump and his best friend Vladimir Putin, who should step up to run interference but Rep. Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Select Intelligence Committee, with claims that intelligence was collected on the Trump transition team via "incidental collection."

Incidental collection is the term used for communications intercepted under a FISA warrant on foreign actors which involve American citizens. We actually were able to infer that such collection occurred when news broke that Michael Flynn had five phone calls with the Russian embassy on the very same day that President Obama imposed sanctions on Russia for their interference in the 2016 election.

But Nunes felt it necessary to grandstand. Before informing Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking member of his committee, he went before the press to make his claims before promising to brief the White House.

Make no mistake. This is plain, simple, grandstanding and smoke-blowing to give Trump cover for the specious claims he made about the "bad, sick" acts of former President Obama.

Based upon this, it's clear we need an independent prosecutor and Nunes should immediately recuse himself or even resign as chairman of that panel.

Here is some of the reaction to the story:

Republican House Intel Chair Devin Nunes Just May Have Gotten Trump Impeached

House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes tried to exonerate President Donald Trump's unfounded wiretapping accusations against President Obama, but in the process he ended up revealing that the alleged wiretap was legal and done under a FISA warrant, which means the people being surveilled are either foreign powers/agents and or may be involved in the commission of a crime.

House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes tried to exonerate President Donald Trump’s unfounded wiretapping accusations against President Obama, but in the process he ended up revealing that the alleged wiretap was legal and done under a FISA warrant, which means the people being surveilled are either foreign powers/agents and or may be involved in the commission of a crime.

So that’s not exactly a win for Nunes or Trump.

...John Schindler pointed out that when one talks to legitimate foreign intelligence targets who are already being monitored, they will be swept up in that collection. This is something I’ve written about quite a bit, as it seems someone who is president would/should know this already. If he was talking to foreign targets, Trump should have known he would be listened to. This is not the same thing as Obama putting a wiretap on Trump at all.

...Schindler is also not impressed with Nunes’ handling of this info:

'If we are still a republic of laws, Nunes must be removed from HPSCI, stripped of clearances & prosecuted for this.'

...What Nunes did today was out himself as unfit to run the investigation into Trump’s Russia problem, and that’s not good for Donald Trump or Nunes, because until today, Nunes was functioning as a gatekeeper stopping a real investigation into Trump and Russia.

HOUSE INTEL CHIEF TIPS OFF TRUMP!

Man Tasked With Investigating Trump’s Ties To Russia Makes Friendly Visit To White House

Rep. Devin Nunes’ bombshell disclosures about surveillance on Trump associates raise more questions than they answer.

Investigators don’t normally brief the people they’re investigating. But on Wednesday afternoon, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the Republican who’s leading a congressional investigation into whether President Donald Trump’s team colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election, went to the White House to talk to the president.

U.S. intelligence agencies had intercepted Trump associates’ communications ― and perhaps those of Trump himself ― in the final three months of the Obama administration, Nunes said he told Trump.

Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a close Trump ally, said the intercepted communications didn’t mention Russia and were therefore unrelated to his investigation. But the subject matter ― the intelligence community’s investigation of Trump and his associates’ connections to foreign powers ― overlapped. And Nunes’ objective appeared political: Deflect attention from Trump and his associates’ ties to Russia, and back up Trump’s claim that he is a victim of “deep state” loyal to former President Barack Obama.

Nunes’ gambit failed. In attempting to put out the Trump-Russia fire, he made much of it worse: In two press conferences on Wednesday, he confirmed that Trump’s surrogates ― and maybe the president himself ― were subjects of legal surveillance, implied that they may have had suspicious contact with agents from a country other than Russia, and potentially disclosed classified information.

And by choosing to brief the president, who’s so closely tied to the investigation, before sharing his new information with his Democratic counterpart, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Nunes also raised doubts about his own ability to lead his committee’s probe.

Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said that Nunes “will need to decide if he is the chairman of an independent investigation or if he’s a surrogate for the White House.”

Devin Nunes is desperately trying to protect Donald Trump over Russia

Yesterday we brought you the disturbing story of Russian attorney Nikolai Gorokhov, who was thrown out the window of his fourth floor Moscow apartment building just one day before he was scheduled to give testimony that would have been detrimental to Vladimir Putin. We also pointed out that the Kremlin already appeared to be laying the groundwork to frame it as an accident.

Sure enough, Russian state-controlled media is now claiming that Nikolai Gorokhov wasn’t thrown out of the window, but he instead accidentally fell out of the window while trying to move a bathtub or hot tub. These Russian news outlets, according to the NY Times, are even going so far as to post photos of a shattered tub outside Gorokhov’s building. He somehow managed to survive the fall but at last word he’s still in intensive care, meaning it’s probably impossible for him to tell his side of the story right now. But his political allies are speaking up on his behalf.

Sarah Palin Removes Offensive Tweet After Being Humiliated For Whining About A Black Man Donating To Charity

The overwhelming response to her temper tantrum was so humiliating that Sarah Palin removed the outrageous tweet.

Just after midnight on Wednesday morning, Palin apparently learned that former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick donated money to Meals on Wheels.

Palin has relentlessly targeted Kaepernick because he exercised his freedom to kneel during the national anthem in protest of police brutality against people of color.

Kaepernick is currently a free agent and will likely find a new team before the next NFL season begins, but that didn’t stop Palin from gloating about his current status.

In response to Donald Trump’s draconian budget that slashes funding for Meals on Wheels, a program that helps millions of senior citizens get a meal and a well-being check every day from a volunteer, Kaepernick donated $50,000 to the organization.

For some reason, Palin has a problem with this and she threw a mini hissy fit on Twitter complete with a link to a story on her own website.

Palin soon deleted the offensive tweet and we’ll get to the reason why shortly, however, a screenshot was obtained by a Twitter user.

Since she deleted her tweet, here’s the screengrab where she mocks Kaepernick for donating to Meals on Wheels. pic.twitter.com/yPFYgR23zu

    — Rey “Azure” McSriff (@aguyuno) March 22, 2017

As you can see, Palin mocked Kaepernick for currently not having a job, even though there are still quite a few months before the next NFL season begins and free agency is part of the game.

Palin linked to story on her website that called Kaepernick’s donation a purely “political stunt.”

You know, because Palin doesn’t believe Kaepernick is capable of such a generous gesture out of the kindness of his heart.

The article has also been removed.

And that’s because Palin was buried under such an avalanche of humiliation that she was forced to do so.

Trump is backed into corner like a Rat...he is in serious trouble. His presidential term will be measured in months rather than years. What does he do??? Start another War.... I certainly hope staff has him bound and gagged.

I don't see an impeachment coming down the road any time soon, due to crooked R's standing by their man. And because there is no way to justify a military coup by loyal Americans, I don't see any way to drop kick this group of liars and thieves out of their cushy jobs.

According to the former CIA guy on CBS, Nunes had no business informing the WH about any of this. He should have gone to Schiff, the committee or NSA first.

So not only did Nunes jeopardizes the investigation, but after the meeting trump was busy lying on twitter saying that his campaign has no ties with the russians.

Congress should stop all ‘interviews” for cabinet positions and the supreme court until this is cleared up, we don’t need any more traitors in the government.

Benedict Arnold was hanged for sedition/treason. A shame that public hangings are no longer legal.

Just like your Fuhrer, 11:59, there you are to pop up and non-constructively bark, "WRONG!", without offering to correct with facts. Could it be that you simply are as stupid as lil hands donnie?

My bad. Benedict Arnold SHOULD have been hanged for his crimes. It's still a shame that public hangings have been outlawed for certain crimes. Very public, severe punishment can send a clear message to those contemplating sedition/treason.

He should read the "Patriot Act" passed under Bush. Then he should try to not publish in Newsmax,a ridiculous right wing propaganda site.

Nunes must totally resign. He is not fit to represent the people. He cannot be trusted and lacks intelligence.
