Congress is launching yet another investigation directed at Donald Trump.

Courtesy of WaPo:

An arm of Congress is launching an investigation into President Trump’s transition operation, including its public spending, private fundraising and how it managed communications with foreign governments.

In a letter dated April 5, the independent, nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) told Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) that it would undertake the probe.

The investigation will focus on four major areas of interest, a GAO official wrote: federal ethics guidelines that governed Trump’s transition; the financial operation behind the effort, including expenditures by the government; conflicts of interest and financial-disclosure rules; and how the transition arranged phone calls and other contact with heads of foreign governments.

“As discussed with your staff on Feb. 27, 2017, we plan to complete our work and send a draft product to the agencies for comment in June 2017,” wrote a GAO official, whose name was redacted before Warren’s office posted the letter online this week.

Warren and Cummings had asked the GAO to review the transition’s practices in late November, citing rising concerns about conflicts of interest between Trump’s about-to-be leadership of the government and his private business activities.

Okay so we have the Congressional Intelligence Committee and the Senate Intelligence Committee investigating possible collusion with Russia, the FBI doing the same, the Senate Judiciary Committee is investigating the events that led to Mike Flynn's resignation, and now the GAO investigating Trump's transition operation.

Did I leave any out?

I really feel I might have left something out.

Well anyhow I think that we can all agree that this is absolutely unprecedented by any standard, and that it is very unlikely that all of these investigations are going to come up empty.

If I were Donald Trump, or associated with Donald Trump's White House, I would be more than a little worried right now.

Why won't the right wing leave the Obamas alone? This man is a nutcase and anyone, Sarah Palin and Donald Trump, who pay any attention to him are just as crazy.

Well, what do you expect from a science denier, illiterate and all around moron.

One only needs to know genetics and LOOK at Sasha and Malia and their parents. You can SEE the genetics at work.

Is it any wonder everyone but the far right nutjobs ignore the rants of Jones? He's an imbecile.

The ONLY good thing about this entire tRump fiasco is that the gop OWNS it. They will regret not joining the dems. in their condemnation of the orange ass. He is one expensive mistake for this country and the entire world. Are the gop so stupid that they can not see that all their careers (cushy jobs) will be destroyed as they defend this idiot? He seems to think he is royalty, now refusing to disclose who visits the WH or the Golden Whorehouse in Florida.

In addition, there are an unprecedented number of lawsuits against Agent orange.

He can't hide forever in his mold and parasite ridden golf club.

Paying back all of the grift should break him for good. Then he can deport himself to Russia.

    1. He has to. Gun sales are way down since he was elected.

They don't have a black boogieman in the White House to scare their customers into stocking their aresenals and they don't have that white bitch in the White House to scare them into stocking up before they lose their second amendment rights or to defend them against the wars she would start.

Hmmm. Seems to me they can play off of Trump beautifully since he is going to start multiple wars on multiple fronts and no one will be competent to save them unless they stock their basements with guns and ammo.

The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!

      No....wait.

Gun advocates fear armed Trump supporters as they escalate threats of violence against progressives

...How afraid of this should you be? The most interesting answers to that question do not come from the left. They come from concerned voices on the right, who’ve been monitoring the chatter with mounting alarm, going public with pleas to liberals to still the antifa renegades before bodies begin piling up. The most convincing evidence that they have a point comes in the ensuing comment threads, where the need to prepare for armed force is taken as gospel.

The Trump administration’s war on transparency and open government increased again with the announcement that it would be shutting down Open.gov, the portal set up under President Obama to give the public access to the inner workings of their government, and which hosts White House visitor records, along with staff financial disclosures and appointments.

Trump officials stated they would end the contract for Open.gov and save $70,000 through 2020 in the process. For perspective on that figure, Trump costs taxpayers an estimated $3.6 million for each visit to his Mar-a-Lago resort. If he spent a single Saturday in Washington, D.C. instead of Florida, he would easily save Open.gov.

The announcement came as the Trump administration also said it would no longer continue the practice of releasing White House visitor logs that begun under President Obama. They are currently being sued by multiple groups for hiding this information.

    1. What "upgrades".

He can't turn it into mini-Trump Tower with fake gold all over the place. The White House is protected and all such renovations must be submitted and approved.

The only thing he can touch is their bedrooms and some other private spaces but even those have some limits and rules.

I don't think he can make it look like Versailles threw up all over the White House.

To date, Drumpf's a**hole calls for the military has resulted in 21 of our Syrian allies being killed by US "misdirected strike" and one Seal killed and a billion dollar plane loss in Yemen. At a cost of 315 million dollars the "mother of all bombs" killed 36 ISIS. Our military states the "plans" coming from administration are not working out well but the military are getting blamed for the poor results. Central Command is displeased at the filthy language coming out of Trump announcing attacks - "bombed the shit out of them"

How stupid and ignorant did people have to be to vote for such a shithead?

  17. Conflicts of interest and financial disclosures is what is going to bite his ass.

That's why they are putting those White House visitor logs under lock and key until Trump is out of office for five years and why he is meeting at Mar-a-LaGofuckyourself and his other properties. They don't keep visitor logs away from the White House.

When they are finally exposed Nixon is going to look like a saint.

Trump will not only be the worst president ever but also the most corrupt ever.
