Former President Obama to receive the Profile in Courage award. Just a reminder that we used to have a president worthy of accolades.

Former president Barack Obama will be the 2017 recipient of the Profile in Courage Award, the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation announced Thursday.

Caroline Kennedy, former ambassador to Japan, and her son, Jack Schlossberg, will present the award to Obama at a ceremony at the Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Dorchester on May 7.

“President Kennedy called on a new generation of Americans to give their talents to the service of the country,” Kennedy said in a prepared statement. “With exceptional dignity and courage, President Obama has carried that torch into our own time, providing young people of all backgrounds with an example they can emulate in their own lives.”

I decided to post this because I just thought that this was a nice break from all of the terrible news we have been forced to cover lately.

And also to remind us that we used to have a President with class, courage, and the highest of ethical standards.

President Obama represented the best that this country had to offer, and hopefully someday soon we will choose yet another leader with his admirable qualities.

Love that President Obama is being provided this award. He deserves it.

So, so miss him and his leadership of our country. Trump is such an atrocity to our country and world.

All these war rumors and the Republicans (and Trump) pushing it are frightening. We might not make it out of this world alive if the nuclear bombs start dropping!

Take care all - and, Happy Easter!

So good to see GENUINE smiles, instead of the forced, constipated "smiles" from tRump and clan.

    OT:
“For whatever other questions voters may have had about her, Americans generally viewed her as smart and right on the issues. And she has an important ability to focus people’s attention and shine a spotlight on the deficiencies in Donald Trump’s approach to things,”
"Next week, she’ll be at an LGBT Community Center in New York City. Next month, she’ll keynote a Planned Parenthood gala and the Children’s Health Fund annual benefit in New York City. On May 26, she’ll give the commencement speech at her alma mater, Wellesley College."A first test of the resistance, and how well it can sustain the energy and enthusiasm that marked the Women’s March on the day after the Inauguration, comes on Saturday, when 69 progressive groups from the newly launched Indivisible to Bernie Sanders’ “Our Revolution” and the venerable Common Cause are sponsoring 120 marches around the country calling on Congress to vote to release Trump’s tax returns.
Saturday is eight years to the day since angry protests over Obamacare launched the Tea Party in 2009."
"Getting voters to understand the power they have over Congress is the goal. "With 74 percent of Americans saying Trump should release his returns, it’s not a partisan issue."

    1. Trump is already sabotaging the ACA. He couldn't do it through legislation so he's doing it through executive order and the budget.

"The overall consequence of the new rules is that health insurance will be harder to buy in 2018, especially for people whose circumstances change during the year, enabling them to buy policies outside the annual sign-up period. The length of that sign-up period is also cut in half."

He's allowing states to deny Federal funding to Planned Parenthood too.

Trump started sabotaging the ACA the night of the inauguration when he signed his executive order demanding that federal employees disobey the law (as in the ACA) and create as many stumbling blocks as possible. He told federal employees to break the law! Absolutely outrageous.

We were so lucky to have President Obama in office for eight years. A sane, compassionate, intelligent and calm leader. They were years when I went to bed at night with no worries about what might happen in the world over the next few hours or days. Those were the days! Now, it just gets more appalling by the minute.

I was just reading how there were over 90 voting machines were prob hacked in the three swing states that "unexpectedly" went for fatass cheeto.

That night as I watched with horror as the votes were coming in for cheeto I though something is fishy
here. No way could all the polls be so wrong.

HRC was robbed of the presidency.A madman ,who shouldn't be in charge of cleaning the litter box, colluded with the Russians and the USA and the world are paying a terrible price.I shudder and weep for what calamity he causes next.

We were out until about 9:30 pm on election night. When we turned on the television to MSNBC, they were all atwitter because it was looking like Trump would win. When we heard their projections for Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, my first thought was massive election fraud on the part of the GOP. It's still my conclusion.

Hillary Rodham should take her rightful position as president of USA and bring on President Obama as new Vice President 2017. As soon as that asshole is removed and impeached we can get this nation in order again. Force the resignation and Impeach all republican's for treason and espionage.

How come Sarah Palin didn't get one of those awards? Is it because she's a white woman?

Other than resigning from office under dubious circumstances, the only courageous acts $arah performed were her trysts with Brad Hanson and Glen Rice!! The Pimp Toad was demoted to purse carrier; his balls were inside said purse!!

  9. Trump will never get a Profiles in Courage award.

Trump will never get a Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump will never get any accolades at all, unless it's from the NRA. Well, not even from them. After all, sales are waaaaaay down after Trump won.

Gee, maybe Putin will give him a friendship medal like Tillerson got.

The GOP needs to be remind saved the country from the financial mess they created with their get the government of our business theme.

Those auto workers that voted for trump need to be reminded who was against the bail out and who really saved their jobs.
