It appears that without British secret agents we may never have discovered Trump's ties to Russia. Update!

Courtesy of The Guardian:

Britain’s spy agencies played a crucial role in alerting their counterparts in Washington to contacts between members of Donald Trump’s campaign team and Russian intelligence operatives, the Guardian has been told.

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.

The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.

Actually even after being spoon fed the information it STILL took the American Intelligence agencies an ungodly amount of time to respond:

The Guardian has been told the FBI and the CIA were slow to appreciate the extensive nature of contacts between Trump’s team and Moscow ahead of the US election. This was in part due to US law that prohibits US agencies from examining the private communications of American citizens without warrants. “They are trained not to do this,” the source stressed.

“It looks like the [US] agencies were asleep,” the source added. “They [the European agencies] were saying: ‘There are contacts going on between people close to Mr Trump and people we believe are Russian intelligence agents. You should be wary of this.’ “

The message was: ‘Watch out. There’s something not right here.’”

"It looks like the US agencies were asleep." Well there's an understatement for you.

Apparently the information was considered so sensitive that it was handled at the :director level" which meant that it was delivered to CIA chief, John Brennan by the director of British Intelligence.

As reported earlier the CIA really cannot investigate American citizens, so the information was then passed on to members of Congress, and from them to the FBI.

I then took the FBI even longer to respond effectively because they were focused on the Russian hackers trying to damage Hillary Clinton, and NOT to help Donald Trump.

Just imagine if the FBI had not had their heads so far up their asses, they could have started to investigate this as early as late 2015. How might THAT might have affected the outcome of the 2016 election?

I swear the more we learn about who knew what and when, the more upsetting it is that things worked out the way that they did.

Update: Oops I almost missed this bit buried in the last paragraph:

One source suggested the official investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.”

Well now, THAT is certainly some good news to start off your Friday.

he CIA, the FBI, and the National Security Agency alleged that the Russian government undertook a wide-ranging effort to influence the 2016 election in an attempt to "undermine the US-led liberal democratic order," and that part of that effort included "paid social media users or 'trolls.'" on First Amendment grounds so that the company can be free to speak more publicly about the "actual scope of surveillance of Twitter users by the US government." his team studied bots supporting both Trump and Hillary Clinton and noticed a difference: Trump-supporting tweets, whether produced by bots or humans, "were significantly more positive than that of Clinton's supporters," Using tools that estimate whether an account is a bot, Ferrara and his team estimated that nearly 15 percent of their data sample collected over a one-month period—roughly 400,000 accounts—were likely bots, accounting for roughly 3.8 million tweets. Twitter didn't respond when asked how many of its accounts are bots or how many tweets they produce."

There was plenty of evidence for the last 4 yrs at least. Those who failed to acknowledge it or chose to join the corruption network and allow the hacking, attacking and complete crime spree are guilty and will be guilty in a court of law. This was not just alittle gig. Sarah, trump and many others were involved in this outrageous criminal act and they will be held accountable. The stale tea bags are finished.

Putin is in a whole different, and smarter catagory than tRump. Putin takes grifting to a whole new level. Putin IS a billionaire (by devious means) tRump can say it all he wants, but he is NOT. Putin OWNS tRump, with millions in loans to Russian banks.

Donald Trump is making sure that the public will not be able to see the influence that special interests and big money donors a.k.a. the swamp is having on his White House by announcing that his administration will not make White House visitor logs public.

...It is a bad move for a president who is already under federal investigation for potentially colluding with Russia during the presidential election to decrease transparency and not disclose who is visiting the White House. At a more basic level, the decision to keep the visitor logs private is a reminder that Trump’s promise to clean up Washington as an outsider was a lie.

Trump Doesn’t Care That American-led Airstrike Kills 18 Syrian Allies

The New York Times reported on Thursday that mounting questions and concerns over Trump’s refusal, or inability, to “exercise sufficient oversight” as commander in chief are being answered with an alarming increase of innocent deaths of Muslims. This time the incompetence at the White House took the lives of 18 Syrian Muslim troops allied with the United States in fighting the dreaded extremist group the Islamic State (IS, ISIL, Daesh, ISIS). Although war mongers have openly welcomed Trump’s hands-off approach and willingness to bomb first and never question the results, it is fairly certain that the friends and families of the 18 slain Syrian allies, like the 1,472 innocent civilians killed by America in March, are not impressed or welcoming this country’s blatant disregard for innocent civilians or its allies helping America to defeat ISIS.

The air strike actually happened on Tuesday in a place called Tabqah in Syria, and it was also the third time in a month that American-led air attacks have killed civilians or allies. The latest collateral damage, this time “friendly fire,” occurred while the Pentagon is “allegedly” investigating two previous airstrikes responsible for killing or wounding “scores of civilians” in a complex where a mosque was located and a building west of Mosul, Iraq.

Now that Trump has learned that the one way he can get love is to drop a bomb, we have in the week leading up to Easter and Passover, launched missiles at Syria that did nothing to affect change but did kill four babies and 18 Syrian allies, launched the “mother of all bombs” in Afghanistan, again accomplishing nothing but wow were the pundits impressed because apparently it takes a lot of strength to point at a new toy that gets you a lot of praise and pick it again. We are also sending dozens of troops to Somalia on a “train and equip” mission.

Now Trump is saber rattling at North Korea. Mind you, this is the man who – much like Sarah Palin – didn’t understand any of the nuances or even basic power dynamic around North Korea. He was quite surprised to learn that it wasn’t so simple as Beijing pressuring North Korea.

  13. Too late.

The longer it takes the more entrenched Trump and his Destructors will be. Even if Trump is somehow removed, the damage has been done and more damage is to come.

This won't be a matter of if Trump is successfully impeached everything he did will suddenly be void and things will be corrected.

    Not going to happen.

It is still urgent to rid of us this canker on our backs, but the Russian investigation is too long and not guaranteed.

I think it's another misdirection. He's got something worse, more unconstitutional, a more blatant violation of his oath, that would get him out quicker but it's being overlooked because of the Russian investigation.

If anything removes Trump, it will be the emoluments clause, not treason.
