Former President Barack Obama announced Wednesday that he and his wife, Michelle, are donating $2 million to summer jobs programs in Chicago.
“One of the things that we’ll be starting this year is Michelle and I are personally going to donate $2 million to our summer jobs programs here in the community,” he said at the South Shore Cultural Center. "[It's] so that right away young people can get to work and we can start providing opportunities to all of them.”
The former president used the event to unveil plans for a 200,000-square-foot campus on Chicago’s South Side that will house the Obama Presidential Center. Obama said the center will be used to "train the next generation of leadership, the Michelle Robinsons of today and the Barack Obamas of today."
Gee, what a hypocrite.
What does he think he is doing supporting the future leaders of tomorrow like he always said he was going to do once he was out of office?
Wasn't it just a few days ago that people were tearing out their hair over the fact that Obama is receiving a $400,000 speaker's fee to talk about health care?
Oh wait, apparently they are still tearing their hair out.
So I guess that since Chaffetz's foot is all better now thanks in part to Obamacare, he feels free to make a huge ass out of himself again.
Is being a huge ass considered a preexisting condition?
If Chaffetz is successful in going after presidential pensions, it should apply to congresspersons also. That might put a little ol' dent in the lobbying dollars.
ReplyDeleteAnd wasn't it once of them to recuse themselves from the horrors of the bill they just passed? hey Jason, hypocrite much?

A delusion is “a fixed false belief that is resistant to reason or confrontation with actual fact.”...
(SOCIOPATHIC TENDECIES?) ...It’s often hard to know, because as Harvard psychoanalyst Lance Dodes put it, Trump tells two kinds of lies: the ones he tells others to scam them, and those he tells himself. “
He lies because of his sociopathic tendencies," Dodes said....
(NARCISSISM SELF-IMPORTANCE)... His narcissism is evident in his “grandiose sense of self-importance … without commensurate achievements.” From viewing cable news, he knows "more about ISIS than the generals” and believes that among all human beings on the planet, “I alone can fix it.”....
(HYPOMANIA, BIPOLAR GENES)....Trump, like many successful people, shows biological signs of hypomania — a mild and more functional expression of bipolar genes that manifest in energy, confidence, creativity, little need for sleep, as well as arrogance, impulsivity, irritability and diminished judgment. As is often typical, when Trump has achieved great success, his hypomania has increased with disastrous consequences....

He'd have to be a human being first...no chance. There may be hope for the little Kushners, but I doubt it.

DeleteWell, since members of Congress are exempt from all the bad things in the AHCA they just passed, Chaffetz will probably keep his gig in Washington. How dare he threaten President Obama's pension! No one threaten George Bush's pension when he charged wounded veterans' groups huge amounts to speak at their functions, especially given the fact that he sent them into harm's way for no reason at all. Where was Chaffetz then?
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
After the health care vote today, there is a bus waiting outside the Capital steps to drive the Republicans to their Victory Party/Photo Op at the White House so Trump can gloat, strut around and take credit for bringing down President Obama.

DeleteFrom FB>"Mark Trahant on the Impact of the just-passed AHCA on Indian Health:
Delete"But as I have been reporting: “The bill would still wipe out Medicaid as we know it. Medicaid represents 13 percent of the Indian Health Service budget (or $808 million).” Indian Country’s biggest concern right now ought to be Medicaid, Medicaid and Medicaid. There are now 30 million children covered by Medicaid; more than half of all Native children.
The last version of the bill sticks with its revision of Medicaid by capping the costs.
The crazy part of this equation is “why?” The Senate is not going to pass this bill. Several Republican Senators, including Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski, have said they support Medicaid as a state decision. This bill will, however, put House Republicans on the record. Alaska’s Rep. Don Young has been listed throughout this process as an undecided or a “lean no.” No other state will lose as much in this legislation as Alaska. So the choice will be a vote for the party or one for constituents."
As we know now, Don Young voted "YES"!
