Fox News co-president Bill Shine is out at the network, the latest casualty in the scandal that has plagued Fox News and its parent company 21st Century Fox since last summer.
Shine's departure was announced Monday. The network said he resigned.
No one has accused Shine of harassing behavior -- but some ex-employees have accused him of covering up the alleged wrongdoings of others.
Shine has been named in at least four lawsuits or allegations related to alleged sexual harassment or racial discrimination at the network.
Shine has been with the network since it began back in 1996, and was for most of that time Roger Ailes "guy Friday."
There were some earlier hints that Shine was next up on the chopping which clearly upset Sean Hannity who tweeted this:
And this:Gäbe i pray this is NOT true because if it is, that's the total end of the FNC as we know it. Done. Best Sean https://t.co/W3BJ2wjzRD— Sean Hannity (@seanhannity) April 27, 2017
This of course has a number of people suggesting that Sean Hannity might be the next to get the boot.Somebody HIGH UP AND INSIDE FNC is trying to get an innocent person fired. And Gabe I KNOW WHO it is. Best Sean https://t.co/W3BJ2wjzRD— Sean Hannity (@seanhannity) April 27, 2017
Wouldn't that be awesome?
Update: It appears that Hannity has seen the writing on the wall.
Damn, finally Fox News is producing material which is both entertaining AND informative.
It would.
ReplyDeleteI hope Shammity is next! Getting rid of these idiotic liars at Fox will go a long way toward reducing fake right-wing news consumption and with a little luck, end in getting Drumpf out of the Oval Office.
ReplyDeleteI feel a "good-guys" ball is beginning to roll, after being in stasis for far too long... may it pick up steam and more of these shits get shunted out of the as it does.
DeleteHmmmm.
ReplyDeleteWhen an ordinary employee is fired, security comes to the employee's desk, cubicle, whatever -- watches while the employee packs up his/her personal stuff (family photos, etc., takes away the employee's ID badge, then escorts the employee out of the building.
So -- what happens when a senior executive gets the axe?
A "golden handshake" and their signature on a gag order form.

Sean Hannity is looking to leave Fox News, according to sources, following the resignation of Fox News co-president Bill Shine officially on Monday.
Shine was Hannity’s long-time ally whom he personally recommended the network hire two decades ago to produce Hannity & Colmes. In recent days, Hannity warned it would be the “total end” of Fox News should Shine leave, and he rallied conservative activists to back him up.
Initially, insiders said, Hannity’s army of lawyers had hoped to discuss with Fox ways of protecting his 8-year-old primetime show, amid fears that Lachlan and James Murdoch—fresh off the ousting of Bill O’Reilly—were looking to push the network away from hard-right politics.
However, with Shine’s departure on Monday, one source told The Daily Beast, there’s no reason for Hannity to stay.
“The network now belongs to the Murdoch sons,” another Fox insider said after learning that Shine was gone.
One insider speculates that the negotiations could end this week and Hannity might be out by Friday. Another said his final show could even be tonight or Tuesday evening, given Shine’s Monday resignation.

UPDATE –– 6:31 pm ET: Hannity responded by tweeting out a link to an Independent Journal Review report saying he is “not negotiating” to leave:

DeleteIf I have anything to say about @FoxNews I will say it tonight at 10 est. All I'll say now is this is true.
----------
As someone said in the comments, 2:52 PM, yeah, I'll tune in so I know what to believe.....
That took forever. He probably has shit on Murdoch.
ReplyDeleteHannity next! He's worthless and someone I've never watched!
ReplyDeleteRumor has Sarah Palin and her measly BA degree in Journalism taking a seat over Fox News as VP. Fox will combine scripture, wingnut news and racism into one big pile of mooseshit.
ReplyDeleteBA degree. HAH!
DeleteI doubt even Faux could sink so low as to want Sarah's stink on them again.
DeleteEven Stinky Sarah's photo op with Agent Orange hasn't done anything for her.
Shammity, Douchey, Eric Bolling, who once referred to a guest with a PHD as Dr McHottie and the list goes on. Of course it was interesting that there was an immediate reaction by Fox when Jesse Waters made an oral sex "joke" about Ivanka.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think they all go, with the exception of Shepard Smith, and then just start from scratch.
DeleteRemember all of this started after allegations were made against Steve Doocy.
Interesting as. Huffpo article has Andy lack pulling MSNBC right.
DeleteFox Pushes Back On Report That Hannity Seeking Exit After Shine’s Resignation
ReplyDeletehttp://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/fox-pushes-back-reports-sean-hannity-looking-to-leave
For all the talk about Trump shutting down the government to get Wall money, holding Obamacare subsidies hostage or generally bending history or at least Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to his will, Trump got close to nothing in the funding bill meant to fund the government for the rest of the fiscal year. He ended up crying uncle or “no mas” on virtually all his demands.
ReplyDeleteLet’s go down the list.
The EPA was slated for massive cuts – roughly 31%. It will retain 99% of its funding.
Trump demanded funding for his border wall. He didn’t get any.
Trump wanted to cut funding for the National Institutes of Health. It’s getting $2 billion of additional funding.
Funding is included for the Obamacare subsidies Trump has threatened not to pay.
There’s no provision for “defunding Planned Parenthood.”
There’s no language to defund “sanctuary cities.”
There are obviously many other things included in the bill. And it’s not like Trump got nothing. But at least on most of the hot button issues he’s pushed as part of his agenda he folded like a cheap suit.
Yes, that’s a cliche. But he folded so bad, it’s really okay. Trump’s first mini-budget is largely a continuation of Obama’s last budget.
Domestic critics aren’t the only ones noticing.
Late last week, The New York Times published a story describing how Mexicans and the government of Mexico have shifted their opinion on Trump pretty substantially. Basically they’ve taken his measure and decided he’s all bark and little or no bite.
...None of this is terribly surprising. Trump presented himself as the consummate alpha-male ball buster, someone who speaks and embodies the ethos of domination his most ardent supporters instinctively crave and believe in. In practice, he’s repeatedly adopted what might be termed the preemptive fail, not only talking tough but failing to achieve his aims but actually jumping ahead of the process and unilaterally backing down or saying a metaphorical ‘nevermind’ before the supposed confrontation even arrives.
As the Mexicans seem to have concluded Trump is less a threat than a bullshit artist who caves easily and is best either ignored or treated with a stern, disciplined and unafraid response.
In other words, SAD!, on so many levels.

DeleteHow Trump Could Get Fired
ReplyDelete...Trump’s critics are actively exploring the path to impeachment or the invocation of the Twenty-fifth Amendment, which allows for the replacement of a President who is judged to be mentally unfit. During the past few months, I interviewed several dozen people about the prospects of cutting short Trump’s Presidency. I spoke to his friends and advisers; to lawmakers and attorneys who have conducted impeachments; to physicians and historians; and to current members of the Senate, the House, and the intelligence services. By any normal accounting, the chance of a Presidency ending ahead of schedule is remote. In two hundred and twenty-eight years, only one President has resigned; two have been impeached, though neither was ultimately removed from office; eight have died. But nothing about Trump is normal.

I'll say it again - they need to run Trump's fat ass our of D.C. sooner than later. He is the most unqualified jerk we've seen in eons. He makes me want to regurgitate every time I see or hear him! I detest the boy/man!
DeletePence’s longtime aide is orchestrating White House obstruction of Russia investigation
ReplyDeleteMarc T. Short, longtime Mike Pence aide and family friend, is the man orchestrating the White House obstruction of congressional investigation into the Trump team's ties to Russia. His behavior is the latest evidence that Pence may be yet another member of the Trump administration implicated in the Russia scandal.
http://shareblue.com/pences-longtime-aide-is-orchestrating-white-house-obstruction-of-russia-investigation/
That's because once Trump is out Pence is next as he is neck deep in the shit that is TrumpRussia. He knew Flynn was filthy as he was i n charge of the transition team and got the same info that Trump did, before Flynn was approved.
DeleteA clue might be Hannity sucking up to Gabe Sherman, who's a long-time exposer of Fox News corporates.

Children 12yrs and younger are bullying and raping their classmates. Adults are raping children. And I could go on but I may throw up.. I am so concerned about Our American Society. We are infected, Our Morals and Manners lacking. Some Adults have caused this awful outcome and lack of humanity. Trump, Fox and associates are nasty dirty liars, rapist, cheats. I will never forget nor forgive those that voted for this terrible awful mess and attitude we are witnessing today. I blame them for the nasty disease in America today.
ReplyDeleteSeconded. You voted for T.Rump? you are not welcome in my home. If you date my kid, I'll disown them. Do I do business with you? Not anymore. You have proven yourself irrational, immoral and Unamerican.
DeleteThat's the way I feel 8:04, I already cleaned out my social media "friends" of any trump supporters and I refuse to do business with any of my small town shops if they supporter Trump. They know why too as I told them.

This should be no surprise to anyone. Once a company decides to "clean house" they do. The only surprise is it took them so long.
