Idaho Congressman claims that "nobody dies because they don't have access to heath care."

Courtesy of Idaho Statesman:

A statement made by U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador during a town hall meeting Friday morning has drawn criticism by those challenging his stance on health care.

After a woman suggested that the lack of health care was essentially asking people to die, Labrador had a controversial answer at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.

“That line is so indefensible,” Labrador said. “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to health care.”

I have to admit that when I first heard about this statement I thought it might be an exaggeration or the product of "fake news," because NOBODY could be that stupid, right?

Wrong.

In fact, as you can see from this video, the woman who Rep. Labrador is arguing with, and whom he actually calls a liar, is a nurse who has spent fourteen years working in the ER.

It literally makes my head ache to think that there are people in Congress who are this ignorant, and who are making these life and death decisions for the American people.

This guy is simply not smart enough to do his job.

Part of it is certainly ignorance, but I think a larger part is lying. So far there has been no negative personal repercussions for lying (in fact, trump won the presidency in part by lying), so these republicans will continue to lie until voters hold them responsible for their lies.

What is the common equation when it comes to conservative politicians.. they are all science denying, bible thumping, racist and homophobic liars who don't give a shit about the middle class or poor.

Very few of them are public servants. Most of them are there for personal gain.

They do not have the courage to live their lives as they REALLY are, so pretend to be something they are not. All lining their pockets from lobbyists money.

Anon at 11:00am. Labradoodles are sweet. I'm sure a labradoodle would be a much better and more intelligent and considerate representative than any of the current GOP legislators, whether they reside in state legislatures or in Congress.

SLOWLY BUT SURELY WE ARE LEARNING MORE ABOUT TRUMP AND HIS RUSSIA

    Eric Trump YOU'RE FIRED!
    -Daddy

    The Hill:
    May 07, 2017 - 09:06 AM EDT

Eric Trump in 2014: 'We have all the funding we need out of Russia'

President Trump's son, Eric, once told a golf writer that funding for Trump golf courses come from Russia, that writer recounted in a new interview.

James Dodson during an interview Fridaywith Boston's WBUR described meetingDonald Trump in 2014 and being invited to play golf at the Trump National Golf Club Charlotte.

He said asked Donald Trump how he was paying for his courses, and the now-president "sort of tossed off that he had access to $100 million," Dodson said in the interview.

Dodson said he then questioned Eric Trump, who was along for the day.

"I said, 'Eric, who's funding? I know no banks - because of the recession, the Great Recession - have touched a golf course. You know, no one's funding any kind of golf construction. It's dead in the water the last four or five years,'" the writers told WBUR.

"And this is what he said. He said, 'Well, we don't rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.' I said, 'Really?' And he said, 'Oh, yeah. We've got some guys that really, really love golf, and they're really invested in our programs. We just go there all the time.'"

Trump is quick with his Executive Orders to abolish everything President Obama did.

Trump what about signing an Executive Order to prevent JARED KUSHNER'S SISTER FROM BENEFITING FROM JARED'S CONNECTION TO DADDY COMMANDER IN CHIEF?

    MY TIMES
Jared Kushner’s Sister Highlights Family Ties in Pitch to Chinese Investors

.... On Saturday afternoon, Mr. Kushner’s sister Nicole Meyer made a pitch to attract $150 million in financing for a Jersey City housing development, known as One Journal Square, to more than 100 Chinese investors gathered at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Beijing.

The money would be provided through a much-criticized government program known as EB-5 that awards foreign investors a path to citizenship in exchange for investments of at least $500,000 in American development projects.....

I spent two months in northern Idaho, where Raul Labrador "reigns". The whole area is filled with idiots! Even those who teach at the University of Idaho in Moscow are very sub-standard.

My daughter had a black lab, Shadow, who was MUCH smarter than this clown. People DO die from lack of health care. My 45 year old son did. I despise these politicians, hiding behind their subsidized healthcare plans, and pensions. They do not deserve either. Time to put a stop to that, they think they are royalty.

Several years ago the twenty something year-old son of a friend of ours died suddenly from meningitis because he had no medical insurance. Living on the other side of the country, the illness started as a severe headache. He didn't seek medical help because he had no insurance. By the time his landlady realized that he was very sick and called an ambulance, it was too late to help him. He could have been saved had he or someone else acted quickly. I'm sure there are many families which have endured similar tragedies.

I really despise callous and ignorant politicians who hold our lives in their hands and simply could care less. I don't think they'd care if a member of their own immediate family suffered the way the young man (and his family) I just described. The 21st century GOP is monstrous.

AS an example of yes, they and their supporters arre thet sutpid, I give you, the peepond. The other day, they were actually touting that Kimmel's kid was treated at what they term a "charity " hosptal. What idiots - most hosptials are NPO's. That ha nothing to do with whether or not a hospital CHARGES becuase, you know, they need to PAY their workers, maintain their buildings and buy equipment from FOR-PROFIT companies.Whethter tose cahres are paid by Medicaid, private insurance or driving the family into bankruptcy court, they charge and pursue payment.

The only non-Medicare/medicaid accepting hospitals are Shriners and St. Judes - those are the only hosptals exempt from EMTALA, when last I checked.

here is how it goes if you don't have insurance. Visit casualty room, admitted and treated until you stabilize. As soon as you stabilize you are kicked out with a handful of prescriptions that you can't afford. Hospital will harasses you for payment for your stay and sell on the debt to dept collectors who will keep the pressure on you for something you cannot afford. This cycle repeats as long as the patient lives, with shorter periods between admissions. My brother in law died that way.

Straight medicare does not have pre existing clause. The hospitals, doctors, pharma and facilities must step up and take care of the uninsured. Trump and his buddies the healthcare insurance ceo's will have no members. And so they will fold. Boycott insurance and watch them change their tune.
