Let the impeachment marches begin!

Courtesy of Mic:

On July 2, there will be marches demanding Trump's impeachment in at least a 20 across the country. Organized by a group of activists based in Los Angeles, the nationwide demonstration will demand Democrats take immediate action — that is, if impeachment doesn't come first.

"We want impeachment," Stephanie Tatro, one of the central organizers of the Impeachment March, said in an interview. "A handful of our reps haven't been shy about speaking out against Trump, and we support them, we want them to continue to take strong action toward impeachment."

So far, the biggest march will be in Los Angeles where Tatro and her fellow organizers worked on the Tax March. They also worked with Indivisible, the grassroots protest group leading the disruptions at Republican town halls over the past three months.

But even without much promotion, there are already a number of sister marches in the works in cities like New Orleans, Phoenix, Cleveland and San Diego. It's a young project, and the organizers are seeking out larger left-leaning partners to help grow their small movement. They hope to see local groups across the country glom on and start their own marches.

Oh yeah I think I can manage to free up some time for an impeachment march or two this summer.

Reminds me of those rallies demanding that Sarah Palin quit her job as governor.

It worked back then, and remember she was not being investigated for colluding with the Russians to steal an election.

Donald Trump to America: Please impeach me

Donald Trump is doing an excellent impression of a president who desperately wishes to be impeached. Congress should grant that wish, or figure out an even quicker way to bring this tragicomedy to its inevitable end. If there aren’t enough smoking guns quite yet, just wait a day or two. They're coming at us faster than rounds from a Kalashnikov on full auto.

Could Trump's signals be any more clear? He's not even having fun. "No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly," Trump said at the Coast Guard Academy commencement. That was just a few hours before Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein named former FBI director Robert Mueller as a special counsel to oversee the FBI's Russia investigation, and a day before Trump tweeted that "this is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!"

Suffice it to say the job is only going to get less fun.

Given all we know about Trump himself — the disturbing real time glimpses into his mind via Twitter; his Tourette-like tendency to blurt out exactly what most presidents would know they shouldn’t; his relentless ignorance of policy, government and our nation's founding principles — we shouldn’t be shocked by recent developments.

No one but a person hunting for an escape hatch would admit in a national TV interview that he was thinking about the “made-up” Russia story when he fired FBI Director James Comey; would ask Comey to stop investigating former national security adviser Mike Flynn's contacts with Russia, possibly violating his oath of office; and would ask Comey to pledge loyalty to him, even though FBI directors have 10-year terms precisely so they can operate independently of presidents....

Not fun! No wonder Trump decamps nearly every weekend to his own golf clubs and resorts and luxury digs. Why does he hate Washington? Has he ever even laid eyes on Camp David?

The president needs an exit strategy that makes him look like a winner. He doesn’t deserve one; in fact, he may well turn out to deserve impeachment. But that would make him a loser and he'd fight it to the end, and the end would be a long time coming.

What would entice him to leave soon? ....

After watching John Oliver - I realize impeachment is not the answer either - we get Pence (or Ryan or Hatch) - all will take our country down a long dark road.

    2. Best/ worse case is that we will get Pence until HE is exposed and the election will be declared null and void after the whole voting machine and roll purging is exposed..
See Greg Palast or Mike Farb on Twitter. They have actual hard data. No shit. The election WAS rigged.

'Long dark road' indeed because that will piss off a minority of deplorables which may result in more chaos.

Long shot but as we have seen, the new reality is the unfathomable.

John Oliver last night was brilliant although he, sad to say, did burst the impeachment bubble at the same time. Truly this is a year in which each day seems like a month. Time is going by like treacle rather than sand. About 190 weeks left until January 20, 2020.

"Pence bills himself as an upstanding Christian stuck in a spiraling situation not of his making." In one scandal after another, Pence “was never, either intentionally or unintentionally, made aware of the FACTS.”
" a pattern of his willful blindness and misrepresentations. Pence refuses to learn from the treachery of the people around him. He continues to vouch for President Trump and others who conspire, lie, and hide corruption. Pence isn’t a victim. He’s an ACCOMPLICE."
{Grab them by the pu$$y} "If you buy Pence’s story that the video shocked him, then this episode was the beginning of his complicity." He didn’t answer whether Flynn had mentioned the security clearance. In retrospect, it seems a small matter. But this episode signaled what Pence would do in the scandals to come. He firmly denied reports that turned out to be true.", May 9, Rosenstein issued a memo criticizing Comey’s management of the Clinton investigation, and Trump cited the memo in a letter firing the director. The letter was a sham.No one peddled the sham more vigorously than Pence." “It's either malpractice or intentional, and either are unacceptable."

The same could be said of Pence’s tenure as stooge and mouthpiece. Either it’s malpractice, or it’s intentional. Either is unacceptable. When Trump goes down, Pence goes with him."

    5. What we really need to do is take the House and the Senate. Once you remove the Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, that goes a long way to control Trump.

So we need to work on 2018.

After that, you work on defeating Trump in 2020. So the Democrats need to get their acts together si months ago and get cracking on taking Congress and then taking the White House. After that they then need to rescind and repair every fucking asshole thing Trump and the Republicans did. That includes all the no-backsies shit deregulation the Congress did.

So to avoid President Pence or President Ryan, the only way is to work NOW to take as many seats as possible from the Republicans in 2018, then obstruct Trump until the Democrats can take the White House in 2020.

  7. Please. . . no impeachment until 2019. With both Trump and Pence impeached, the Speaker of the House becomes president. If the Dems take back the House in 2018, that would mean President Pelosi. Don't rush too fast or we'll get President Ryan.

While I agree that Trump has committed multiple Impeachable acts, it will not serve us well if we hold hearings and he is cleared. We MUST wait until we have enough Republicons willing to stand for Country FIRST, and we don't have that.

    1. She doesn't have enough command of the English language to say anything but a prepared and rehearsed speech. So she can't say much of anything and probably doesn't understand a lot of what is said to her. She's probably deathly afraid she'll trip up and incur the wrath of the Donald for publicly embarrassing him for having an illiterate wife unqualified to be First Lady.

Media cameras need to focus on Drumpfs left ear during these speeches. Ivanka has recorded the words very slowly for him and he is just repeating the words. I wish someone would hack into recording and say "I am a fat fake asshole"
The speech he gave in Riyadh is nothing like how he speaks. Either he has an earpiece or they pithed his frontal cortex and he s no longer in charge....
