Is the new NRA ad suggesting that their members fight back against liberal protesters with bullets? Sorta looks that way.

Here is the transcript, just to spare your ears from this woman's poison:

They use their media to assassinate real news. They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler. They use their movie stars and singers and comedy shows and award shows to repeat their narrative over and over again. And then they use their ex-president to endorse “the resistance.”

All to make them march. Make them protest. Make them scream racism and sexism and xenophobia and homophobia. To smash windows, burn cars, shut down interstates and airports, bully and terrorize the law abiding. Until the only option left is for the police to do their jobs and STOP THE MADNESS. And when that happens, they’ll use it as an excuse for their outrage. The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom, is . I’m the National Rifle Association of America, and I’m freedom’s safest place.”

Holy shit! This is a level of paranoia that is even shocking coming from the NRA.

For one thing nobody waited for singers, Hollywood stars, or even the ex-president for that matter, to go out and protest this vile, disgusting occupant of the White House.

Here was Wonkette's take on his ad:

As ridiculous as this is, it’s also scary as hell. Because, you know, holy crap these people literally want to kill us. They’re trying to create some kind of otherworldly scenario in which we are an actual violent threat to them. That our ONLY purpose is to, uh, protest things for literally no reason, and march and smash windows and “terrorize the law abiding.” That we somehow force nice police officers to murder black people (like Philando Castile!) in order to have “an excuse” to be mean to them and protest more.

Which is all kinds of ass-backwards.

Do protesters sometimes get out of hand? Sure! But like, suggesting that the entire Left is a serious violent threat to the Right because of every so often a window gets broken? Well, it would be like us insisting that they were all Timothy McVeigh. Or Eric Rudolph. Or Dylan Roof. Or a heck of a lot of other people I could name.

As a rational person, I assume that no, not all conservatives want to bomb buildings or shoot up black churches. However, the NRA seems dead set on pushing them to do so.

Exactly! This is a gun lobby, so when they suggest that their members   need to "to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth" what are we to believe is clenched in those fists?

Yes I concur with Wonkette, this IS scary as hell.

  1. Anonymous4:03 AM

Wonkette is a far better blog than here. At least people can have differences of opinion without being attacked.

    1. Anonymous4:34 AM

Just like clockwork, there you are, cupcake!

    2. Anonymous4:38 AM

If your "opinion" is Sarah Palin is an honest person and her kids are hard working and independent, that's not an opinion, that's a delusion.

    3. Anonymous4:58 AM

Nobody mentioned Sarah Palin except you, Delusional at 4:38 am. In fact, Wonkette is far better at dealing with the Palins and Johnstons in realistic manner than this place.

    4. Anonymous7:28 AM

Did I say you mentioned her, fuckwad? I just know your shtick, troll. We are all aware of your shtick, whackjob.

4:58 -- You're right. Wonkette mocks the Palins absolutely mercilessly.

4:58am; you give yourself away every time. You're young. Get a life and stop stalking the Johnston's.

    8. Anonymous9:21 AM

Wait, why are we still talking about the Johnstons? Isn't Bristol like 10 baby daddies past Levi now?

The Wonkette Bristol Palin archives are a joy to behold, 18 pages of articles absolutely excoriating her in the most delightful way.

Not certain how 4:58am can see anything very positive in how Wonkette has dealt with either Bristol or Levi, but hey, I guess maybe "fair and balanced" is in the eye of the beholder?

    9. Anonymous10:52 AM

Wonkette satirizes both Brostol and Levi. Gryphen kisses up to Levi and Sunny so he can use them as sources even though they're just as trashy as Bristol or any Palin.

  3. Leland4:25 AM

Years ago, when the NRA was still the organization which taught gun safety and REAL law and order, I was a member. A LIFE member.

When they began to change into what they are today, I wrote and told them to remove my name from their membership. They fought that and I had to get a lawyer to take them to court to get it done. They fought it tooth and nail, even going so far as to appeal the court's decision. They lost, but I would be willing to bet they never really removed my name, and if they did, they left me as an added number in their membership count.

I had to do almost the same thing with the repubes, too, just didn't have the court session. As I keep telling those repubes who rail against me for changing my affiliation, I didn't leave the republican party - it left ME!

These idiots now fit perfectly with Humpty Trumpty's philosophy and are willing to back a racist take over of our government.

    Yeah. Dangerous.

O/t, MJoe also go to Wendys the salad is so so small now. I pay what for that tiny bowl?! Of salad.
Yeah prez not effective at all.

  5. Anonymous4:31 AM

4:03 Then go back there, you will not be missed here. How long did it take for them to find a Mariska Hargitay lookalike? I bet some of their "fans" think this is straight from "Law and Order"

  6. Anonymous5:00 AM

No kidding, all the while in 2016 your thinking what an ass the gop has as a candidate a deranged nut.
Yes, this is what nra has become. Rifles are just in the house and havent been used in years.
    This is very scary.
    Use of fear everywhere.

  9. Anonymous5:33 AM

Gun sales are down. Time to turn up the rhetoric and scare up some more gun sales.

  10. Anonymous6:10 AM

IF trump and his advisors were decent honest humans and American citizens they would stop this costly dangerous nonsense today. IT is absolutely ignorant and selfish to continue this outrageous expense to American's. IF mr trump and his cartel will not do the right thing and resign? Then the entire republican party must force and remove their candidate from office immediately themselves. AND if the republican party nor mr trump cartel will not do the right thing then the justice dept will do that on behalf of the America people. Obviously the republicans have no problem with spending the taxpayers monies now adays with their candidate pretending to act as a so called president while they get their lies in order to cheat americans. What a party.

  11. Anonymous6:31 AM

Loesch defended the ad, actually, she doubled down on it by saying she was “proud” of the message.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I am proud of this ad and I endorse personally the message of this ad. It’s a fantastic ad and it holds up a mirror to the violent aspects of the left.

And as soon as some lunatic with a gun shoots up a classroom or kills a teacher or two, the NRA will be whining that they were not responsible for inspiring the actions. Well, there would be a connection, if only metaphorical, as there was between Sarah Palin's crosshairs on a map and the shooting of Rep. Gabby Giffords.

    1. You mean, shoots up a classroom AGAIN, right?

  14. Anonymous7:02 AM

Reading the transcript it is obviously setting up an "Us" vs "Them" scenario. They do this, They want this, they, they, they ... this is scary propaganda that will most certainly work on their audience.

    1. Didn't the Nazis use this same trick in the '30s?

This is no longer a case of "those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

This is now a case of "those that study history use it to their advantage to gain power."

“Boy, did CNN get killed over the last few days,”“Van Jones — you see this man?” Trump said. “These are really dishonest people. Should I sue them? I mean, they’re phonies. Jeff Zucker, I hear he’s going to resign at some point pretty soon. I mean these are horrible human beings.” “But as far as I’m concerned, I love it. If anybody’s a lawyer in the house and thinks I have a good lawsuit — I feel like we do. Wouldn’t that be fun?”“I’m going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We’re going to open up those libel laws. So when the New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they’re totally protected.”

      {This^ IS all HE has ever known>...}

    3. You mean, like he threatened to sue Comey?

His lawyers aren't going to bother.

"President Trump’s lawyers, after rethinking their legal strategy, have shelved plans for now to file complaints accusing former FBI Director James Comey of leaking confidential information about his conversations with the president, according to two sources familiar with the lawyers’ plans.

The decision to back away from repeated public threats to launch an all-out legal assault on Comey reflects a significant tactical retreat for Trump’s legal team. It was prompted by concerns that such a move might antagonize special counsel Robert Mueller as he investigates Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible ties to Trump’s presidential campaign, the sources said."

More like they don't have a leg to stand on and Comey wasn't intimidated into backing down and shutting up.

Trump bit off more than he could chew now. He has national attention and is under a microscope. His play yard bully tactics don't work so well any more. And too many of his lies are on record and known to the public.

    2. That is tragic.

I do think the Facebook post is tied to the shooting.

I also think the shooter is someone known to the family, particular Jenkins, and this was a sour grapes, bitter retaliation for some perceived wrong.

"violence of lies" shows that their bile got the better of their grammar. I doubt it will even appeal to the apes it's aimed at, the chickenshits who don't care for clenched fists- especially someone else's- which is why they love gunz.

Dear Lord. This new NRA ad is disturbing, on so many levels. Has it hit the main stream news yet? It is utterly frightening!

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
