President. Candidate. Businessman. Three of President Donald Trump’s roles converge next week as he holds his first major re-election fundraiser at his hotel in Washington.
Trump officially kicked off his re-election campaign on Inauguration Day by filing Federal Election Commission paperwork, making it the earliest such effort by a sitting president.
It’s paying off: The campaign raised more than $7 million by the end of March from appeals to small donors and the sale of merchandise such as the ubiquitous red “Make America Great Again” ball caps.
The June 28 fundraiser at the Trump International Hotel in Washington is for larger donors. TheTrump campaign and the Republican National Committee will share proceeds.
So not only will Trump's campaign receive a bunch of money from donors hoping to buy favors from the current administration, but Trump's hotel will also be paid out of those campaign funds which will go right into his personal bottom line.
It is one of the most blatant and transparent political scams that we have ever seen, and for some reason it does not seem to matter to the Republicans one little bit.
But this is really the only time that Trump seems comfortable.
Not as the actual president with so many responsibilities requiring his attention.
But as a candidate with the sole focus of working toward his next political victory.
Raw Story has a link to a Morning Joe video where they play a bunch of trumps lies from last night and hit them with the family feud red x. They then go over each one and explain why it's a lie. Of course his base would just call it fake news. Oh, and there's a story out where the trump organization is suing the village where Westchester Golf Club is located over their tax bill. They claim the assesses value should be 7.5 million not 15 million which would save them 250K. They use this tactic all the time to lower their corporate taxes around the country. Most localities will cave because they don't have the assets to fight. Here's my solution, why don't they just assess it at the value trump himself said it was worth on his financial disclosure forms last year, 50 million, since he would never lie about that

DeleteHey morning joe might have something there for ignorants, they respond to gimmicks.
DeleteI suspect this is a "Keep me out of Prison" fundraiser, to pay lawyers.
ReplyDeleteI was expecting trump was on his death bed?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was the nightly dream that I have.
Instead I woke up to the reoccurring nightmare of the fat ugly still breathing!
Is he ever going away? If so when?
Just a few minutes ago, I said to my husband that it is truly bizarre to live in a country with a lunatic as its leader. Then I saw that he's holding a fundraiser for his reelection at one of his hotels. That's become the new normal. The GOP is now ranting that "Obamacare" is going to take healthcare away from millions of Americans and our president, who has done absolutely nothing of serious substance since taking office, is so fixed on being reelected that he's trying to raise money for it already, of course all the while making more money for his personal brand. We have all finally slipped to the very bottom of the rabbit hole. How will we ever claw our way out of it?

First, we have to get democratic voters up off their collective asses, and to the voting booth Second, make sure all eligible voters have correct I.D. Third, inform EVERYONE just what a disaster the gop is for this country. Imagine a group of democratic reps. holding secret meetings to craft any laws, especially laws that affect almost everyone. Everyone needs to read about the huge amounts of $$$ given to these select few who wrote this crappy bill.
DeleteBeaglemon, just because he is raising money for a reelection campaign doesn't mean he will run. If he doesn't I think he gets to keep it all
DeleteOh he'll run if he's still breathing. He thinks he is Christ reincarnated.
DeleteFix the gerrymandering problem. Supreme Court decision will be crucial -- how with Gorsuch vote?
DeleteClear out the Democratic elites in Washington who could not see anybody running against Trump but Hillary (who went left because of Bernie). The Dems are so divided... the GOP votes in a block -- whoever the candidate is.
You are forgetting, Anon at 12:49 pm, that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by almost 3 million. Yes, gerrymandering must be reversed but it's hard to do in states where the gerrymandered majority is Republican. On another note, I do not believe that the Democratic Party is in great disarray. I'm very proud of how they're handling both the Russia disaster and the GOP anti-health care legislation.

Listening to Trump is like watching a high speed car chase on tv. 30 minutes of drama, car stops and police pull out the driver named Donald Trump and arrest him. At trial Trump claims he wasn't driving the car and all the video from four tv stations and a police helicopter. Classic delusion.
ReplyDeleteHow will trumpcare affect the congress healthcare plan?

ReplyDeleteElect an Elementary school student, this is what you get.
ReplyDeleteDon't go acting all shocked now.
You knew he was a child long ago.
Elect a clown, expect a circus
DeleteHe's lining his pockets 150 days into his dictatorship because he knows he's going down. Please donate, you knuckle dragging troglodytes. He's going to need it to pay lawyers.
ReplyDeleteAnd, we can't even tell him he is being paid to do his jog -- to run the country and govern -- because he would just say, "NO YOU AREN'T because I am donating my presidential salary to charity"
ReplyDeleteThis is so frustrating and infuriating. And, worst of all is that huge minority who think he is doing just fine. I just don't understand how anyone can think that, but so many seem to.
It's now mob rule....and they can turn on him...but is the delusional rot so thick now...?
DeleteHe is horrible beyond description. But, even worse are the GOP in Congress who are just ignoring him. I can't help wonder if he had "the goods" on all of them and that is why they are all letting him do whatever he wants?
ReplyDeleteNailed it. Bribes, threats (to their families?), blackmail... the classic manipulation techniques.
DeleteThe vast majority of Republican members of Congress, both houses, are no better than Trump. At this point, they want to get their inhumane, unAmerican, uncivilized, mean agenda made into law. They are perfectly fine with working with a traitor in the White House so the ends will justify the means. No moral rectitude there!

Sarah Palin reduced to running right-wing clickbait site where she writes about ‘hot’ alpha males
ReplyDelete...“They are appealing to the lowest common denominator of media consumer with no real editorial standards,” one person who works in the conservative media industry tells Nuzzi. “My guess is that her team believes that slapping her name on stories like this is an easy way to continue to have people reading her name, while also bringing in some money through programatic ad revenue.”
http://www.rawstory.com/2017/06/sarah-palin-reduced-to-running-right-wing-clickbait-site-where-she-writes-about-hot-alpha-males/
In the last 24 hours, Sarah Palin has tweeted the following phrases: “Oh boy.” “Ouch!” “That’s gotta hurt … salt in the wounds!” “YES!” and “Another win for America!”
...Perhaps Palin saw in Trump’s victory an opportunity to profit, much like fake-news purveyors did during the election. When Palin was running for vice-president, who could have predicted that nine years later she would be a failed reality-TV personality getting into the far-right clickbait business, while the star of The Apprentice sits in the Oval Office?

If someone wrote about Sarah it's because they're sick and tired of writing about Trump. Nobody likes Sarah.
DeleteI had thought that he had forgotten about the wall. Now he claims it is his idea to make it a "beautiful" solar wall. I guess he doesn't realize that solar panels would have to face south, towards Mexico. The Mexican cowboys here at the ranch are laughing their asses off over the fate of those panels facing Mexico. They would be shattered, shot and painted over.
ReplyDeleteThanks. That made me laugh.
DeleteThere would also be tons of black market solar panels on the market.
DeleteThat hotel needs a fundraiser of its own - it has been losing money from Day One... oh, what a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteFirst granny grifter now grandpa grifter. Our american story just keep getting sadder. Sigh.
