Late last night the White House issued a warning accusing Syria of preparing to gas its people. US defense officials have no idea why.

Okay so this was broadcast on cable news last night. (I personally saw it toward the end of the Rachel Maddow Show.)

And on the face of it this seems like kind of a crazy way to announce that the president of Syria is about to murder his own people again. Typically this would be addressed through diplomatic channels and the public would only become aware if there were an imminent military response planned by the United States. (And seriously what does "pay a heavy price" even mean?)

But then it gets even weirder.

Courtesy of The Independent

The White House has said it believes the Syrian government is planning a chemical weapons attack and warned Bashar al-Assad that his regime will “pay a heavy price” it it does so. However, several US defence officials have said they are not familiar with the intelligence that informed the statement.

White House officials did not respond to requests for comment on Monday night on the allegations or what form US retaliation would take.

Several sources across the US State Department, Pentagon and Central Command, which oversees the country’s military operations in Syria and Iraq – said that they did not know what had prompted the unprecedented threat to the Assad regime.

Okay, okay, let's back the fuck up here.

Are we to believe that the White House received intelligence that the Pentagon did not receive which justified a threat like this?

I call bullshit.

I am beginning to think that Donald Trump is becoming so desperate over those Russia investigations that he is literally considering plunging this country into a war simply to distract the public.

Well America, what can we say? There's nothing we can say or respond to how the world feels about us. We (for talking purposes) elected this know nothing Putin baboon puppet who is definitely afraid to show his taxes because he may have ties to and owes the Russian mafia and Oligarchs for keeping his organization afloat.

Trump is a fucking mess and needs to be declared incompetent as to holding the office of potus. Why the Hell aren't the Republicans and Democrats standing up against the asshole? Absolutely makes no sense.

Americans can see he is a disaster, hateful, a racist, egomaniac, inept, liar and fraud. He is dragging our country down, down, down.

He has committed treason as have some of the others in his cabinet/administration. That alone should call for his immediate impeachment!

  3. Anonymous8:21 AM

Of course Trump will plunge the country into a war to distract from Russia and any other of the crimes & shenanigans his administration is engaged in. It's just a matter of when it begins.

      Inside the White House:

President Trump's Dangerous Syria Wag The Dog Holds Many Pretexts

Last night the White House released a statement warning of an Assad plot to use chemical weapons, in a repeat of their actions just two months ago which led to President Trump ordering a missile strike, at Ivanka's encouragement. Let us be clear: Not only is the President apparently setting the stage for a false pretext wag-the-dog military action, he may also be attempting to play Syria and Russia against themselves. It is difficult to understate the danger of such a scenario. Using back door coordination with Russia to sabotage Russia's allies for the President's political gain could inspire Russia to escalate to overt military conflict.

Last night's statement was created on a moment's notice, at the President's order. Despite claiming that the claim is based on recent intelligence nobody seems to have any knowledge of such intelligence. All of the highest ranking staff seem to be just as perplexed and are currently trying to get the President to explain the reasoning that has led him to this conclusion. Spicer was so surprised that he asked the Priebus and Pence before releasing the statement, hoping to be able to stall long enough for someone to intervene and talk sense to the President...

From before, he shows his cards:

Now that Obama’s poll numbers are in tailspin – watch for him to launch a strike in Libya or Iran. He is desperate.

      2:39 PM - 9 Oct 2012

Polls are starting to look really bad for Obama. Looks like he'll have to start a war or major conflict to win. Don't put it past him!

    Give her a chance America!

Eric Trump wedding planner and family trustee who was given this important job to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s New York and New Jersey office is asking America to look past her lack of Housing and Urban credentials and find it within your hearts to risk lives and give her a chance. The president wants New York and New Jersey's elderly folks and the down and out to give the Trump friend a chance. What do you say? We all had to start somewhere.

“I am close to the Trump family. I am loyal to the Trump family, and they are trying to embarrass the Trump family any chance they get,” Ms. Patton, 44, said Sunday in her first interview since being appointed head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s New York and New Jersey office.

Exactly why??? Does Ms. Patton have any special expertise in heading the housing offices for New York and New Jersey? I doubt it. Knowing where to get a cheap fancy wedding cake should not be enough. There are lots of qualified housing experts in this country to choose from.

How Donald Trump is killing romance

In the treacherous, amusing and sometimes rewarding world of online dating, Donald Trump has become the newest way to find – or reject – a romantic match.

“Did you vote for or do you support Trump? Then I’m not your man. It would never work,” one user says in the opener to his bio on Tinder, a popular mobile dating platform that boasts 26 million matches per day.

“Trump voters please swipe left, and go to your room and think about what you’ve done,” wrote another Tinder user, referring to the way to dismiss a potential date in the app.

“What I’m looking for . . . well, in this crazy day and age, first and foremost, someone who did not vote for Trump,” says a profile on Bumble, a dating app in which women make the first move...

    1. Anonymous9:17 AM

I cannot imagine ANY woman falling (or being) in love w/The Donald and having to live with him.

I sincerely doubt his current wife has love for him....she never smiles, has no expression in her face and has steely eyes that rarely blink. Would not want to be walking in her shoes!!

Trump is an ass and requires impeachment sooner than later. He is tearing our country apart and making us an alien to other countries who have been our partners for eons!

      Fuck him!

Don't tell President Trump that his Ivanka turned against her father and his China

    Huffington Post -
State Department Downgrades China In Annual Human Trafficking ReportThe country received the lowest possible grade.

The U.S. State Department on Tuesday named China one of the world’s worst offenders in the fight against human trafficking, a move likely to increase tension between the two nations.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, standing beside White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump, unveiled to Congress this year’s iteration of the Trafficking in Persons Report, which covers more than 180 countries and bills itself as the world’s most comprehensive analysis on the subject.

In what will likely be seen as an affront to China, the report dropped the country to a “Tier 3” ranking, the lowest grade the report offers, for failing to prevent human trafficking or the use of forced labor. Being designated a Tier 3 country ― a group that also includes Syria, North Korea and Russia  ― can result in sanctions and affect a country’s relationships with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

“China was downgraded to Tier 3 status in this report, in part because it has not taken serious steps” to stop its support of North Korean forced labor, Tillerson said

    1. https://www.yahoo.com/news/image-united-states-plunged-under-trump-survey-shows-000941582.html

"The survey, based on the responses of 40,447 people and conducted between Feb. 16 and May 8 this year, showed even deeper mistrust of Trump himself, with only 22 percent of those surveyed saying they had confidence he would do the right thing in world affairs, compared to 64 percent who trusted Obama.

Both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, with confidence ratings of 27 percent and 28 percent respectively, scored higher than Trump. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, with a confidence rating of 42 percent, scored highest among the four leaders in the survey."

That's right. The world trusts Putin more than Trump, but not by much.

"The only two countries where ratings improved compared to Obama were Russia, where confidence in the U.S. president surged to 53 percent from 11 percent, and Israel, where it rose 7 points to 56 percent."

      And there you have it.

"Globally, 75 percent of respondents described Trump as "arrogant", 65 percent as "intolerant" and 62 percent as "dangerous"."

I suppose that is better than "stupid" and "moron."

US defense officials have no idea why Trump his threatening Syria?

Two weeks prior to reelection, the United States president lands in the middle of a sex scandal. In need of outside help to quell the situation, presidential adviser Winifred Ames (Anne Heche) enlists the expertise of spin doctor Conrad Brean (Robert De Niro), who decides a distraction is the best course of action. Brean approaches Hollywood producer Stanley Motss (Dustin Hoffman) to help him fabricate a war in Albania -- and once underway, the duo has the media entirely focused on the war.

That was the movie Wag The Tail.

In Trump's case he needs a distraction. Change sex scandal to his investigations from the CIA, FBI regarding his, Jared and his administration involvement with Russia, Putin, Oligarchs, money laundering, tax evasion and etc.

    1. Anonymous1:24 PM

The movie was Wag the Dog and yes, this is exactly what I am afraid Trump will do - start a war - to distract from his scandals. Trump would love to be a war president with all the powers he can garner.

How Donald Trump is killing romance

...“I’ve never seen it like this before, where people say ‘no’ to Trump supporters, or they only want to date other Trump supporters,” she said. “It tells me that people are valuing politics much higher as a preference than they were before. ... It’s another example of how massively our dating culture has changed over the past four years, partly because of politics and also because of technology.”

Tinder allows people 500 characters to write their profiles. For Bumble, it’s only 300. Since January, many are using that limited space to make it public how much they detest Donald Trump.

“Around the time of the election, we did see some people who would call out that they were Trump supporters, but since then, I don’t know if people necessarily need to say online that they support him – he’s the head of our nation whether you like it or not,” Davis Edwards said. “But I have clients all over the country, and people are saying, ‘If you’re a Trump supporter, swipe left.’ ”

Even Republican mayors are bypassing Trump to back Paris climate goals

...Reed said he had attended a meeting in Miami on Saturday where more than 300 US mayors from both the Democratic and Republican parties pledged to honour the commitments Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama agreed to in Paris.

The meeting showed this “is not a partisan issue,” the Democratic mayor said.

“I won’t go as far as to say we can reach the exact same goals as we could have with national leadership,” Reed told AFP later.

But he said cities could do enough to keep the ball rolling until the arrival of a new US president committed to the Paris agreement.

He cited experts who argue that cities can achieve 35 percent to 45 percent of the targeted emission cuts without the involvement of national governments.

    1. Anonymous3:36 PM

I wish our governor, Rick Snyder, would take the high road and bypass Trump and his GOP to endorse the Paris accord goals. Michigan is the lynchpin state for the Great Lakes, the world's massive supply of fresh water. Already close to where Lakes Michigan and Huron join there are issues about an old pipeline which has not been properly maintained. Snyder has ignored the problem, much the way that he allowed the Flint crisis to boil over. Very few members of the GOP care about our states, our country or our planet. They care about greasing their palms as much as possible as soon as possible.

Trump obviously needs to change the subject and FAST! His endorsement of the House anti-health bill and his apparently moot acceptance of the Senate version, which will soon be voted on, puts him in a dubious position with regard to mistreating fellow citizens. While Trump's obviously not gassing his fellow citizens, he's dooming many of them to overly expensive or non-existent healthcare with the draconian bill that HIS Congress has come up with.

The misanthropy and viciousness of the GOP knows no limits because, while the full effect of the BCRA might not be felt until 2026, the American people will be left reeling by then with the cuts and fund starvation of Medicaid and the ACA that will begin immediately. The wait until 2026 to finish the job means two more presidential elections and 5 more Congressional elections which will grant the GOP plenty of time to blame it all on President Obama and the Democrats. WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN.
