Most terrorist attacks come from the Right Wing, not Muslims.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

U.S. President Donald Trump was elected vowing to get tough on “radical Islamic terrorism.” He has tried to implement a travel ban barring people from six Muslim-majority nations from entering the U.S. and has tweeted frequently about Islamist terrorist attacks around the world. On Thursday, a new report claimed the president has his facts muddled.

A joint project by the Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute, a nonprofit media center, and Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting has found that within the past nine years, right-wing extremists plotted or carried out nearly twice as many terrorist attacks as Islamist extremists. Of the 115 right-wing incidents, police only foiled 35 percent. Compare this to the 63 Islamist terrorism cases, where police foiled 76 percent of the planned attacks.

Right-wing extremists were not only more successful, they were often more deadly, too. From 2008 to 2016, a third of right-wing attacks involved fatalities, compared to 13 percent of Islamist attacks. It should be noted, however, that Islamist extremists killed more people overall, with a death toll of 90 people compared to 79.

In a statement pointing out the higher rate of successful, right-wing terrorist attacks, the Investigative Fund said: “This project quantifies just how irrational Trump and the GOP's fixation on 'radical Islamic terrorism' as the greatest security threat is.”

This is important information to note since the conservatives seem completely oblivious to homegrown terrorism from the radical Right and can only seem to recognize an attack as terrorism if the perpetrator is a brown skinned Muslim.

The only reason that the police foiled 76% of the Islamic terrorist attacks is because they are focused on recognizing the signs and taking action.

Imagine if that same approach were used more aggressively with the militias in this country and the sovereign citizen groups in America.

Trust me for every Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez out there right now there are at least three times that many who look and think like Schaeffer Cox.

Question that SCOTUS MUST ask. During the time the IRA Irish Republican Army waged their battle, how many ordinary Irish Catholics were denied entry in the US?

Anonymous @12:09, not to avoid your question, but to add to it, why was NY Congressman Peter King never under investigation? I get what you are saying/asking.

Now to tack on to the obvious. Again. iirc The FBI under Dubya was directed to back off investigating right wing terrorist groups.

I live in NV. The Bundy morons live considerably south of me, but not far enough to my liking. Armed and dangerous morons bred in the US of A are the greatest threat I perceive.

Sorry Dolt45 and Republicans, but I feel no threat from Muslims. Except the threat you morons create by killing them in their home countries and giving them cause(s) to react to YOUR threats.

Seriously. Is it that complicated to understand that if we attack people, they might be inspired to attack back? In vernacular terms, it's called blowback, Donnie. Drop your next MOAB on one of our golf courses with you and your Cabinet in attendance, if you want to MAGA. tia

    O/T
Apparently repuglicans aren't the only prominent people hiring lawyers these days. Seems Jane Sanders, wife of Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, has lawyered up in the 10 million dollar fraud case for Burlington College.

Honestly all the Muslims i know personally are all well educated and highly successful. The fuck ups are the ones that chose IT over being a doctor or lawyer. I will take being looked at as a fuck up by my parents while making 6 figures in IT any day. But while the feds watch the Muslims, jebediah and jethro are native natural born terrorists that are not being watched.

I abhor all religious people equally; no one that buys into any of that crap is immune from my wrath.

Don't care what you do for a job, or how much education you've achieved, there is still something broken in your brain that allows you to develop OCD over an imaginary being.

During the time President Obama ran for a second term I kept track of attacks & attempts to attack people, places and public events which the media reported for the year.
I filled 3 pages of a medium sized note book with names and political affiliation (rightie vs lefty)only 3 of the people could have been considered liberal leaning the other 70+ names were rightwingers. It has gotten much worse the past few years.
