Vatican compares Donald Trump to a flat earther for pulling out of the Paris accords.

Courtesy of IFL Science:

Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris agreement has attracted scathing comments from world leaders, politicians, entrepreneurs, and pretty much everyone who doesn’t want to do terrible damage to our planet.

The decision has even drawn the wrath of the Vatican, which Trump visited just last week. Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, head of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, made his critical remarks known in an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

“Thinking that we need and must rely on coal and oil is like claiming that the Earth is not round. It’s an absurdity brought forward only to make money,” Sanchez Sorondo stated. “I believe that oil lobbyists are behind this decision. They are pushing for it. Big oil is pulling Trump's strings and he can’t oppose them, although this doesn’t mean he wants to.”

I'm sorry but when the Vatican, the freaking VATICAN, compares you to a flat earther you have to KNOW that you are truly making a fool of yourself.

This is the head of the church behind the Inquisition and the burning of those accused of witchcraft at the stake, the idea that THEY are more scientifically advanced than the president of the United States is almost too ironic to imagine.

Somewhere Galileo Galilei is shaking his head in wonder.

“Like the leaders of all the other countries in the world. Ignore him.”

Alec Baldwin — who has portrayed the 70-year-old former reality star on NBC’s Saturday Night Live since September 2016 — stood by Griffin in a series of tweets on Friday night.

“Kathy… f— them them. F— them all,” Baldwin, 59, wrote. “No one believes you meant to threaten Trump. Trump is such a senile idiot, all he has is Twitter fights.”

“Ignore him,” Baldwin continued. “Like the leaders of all the other countries in the world. Ignore him.”

      Horowitz>
"goes to great length to describe the historical rise of the Freedom Center, from its’ beginnings as a tax-exempt non-profit to a self-described “battle tank” and “school for political warfare.” Among the Freedom Center’s core tenets are the ideas that immigrants are destroying America, that Islam in particular needs to be stamped out and that climate change is a leftist “ruse.” According to Horowitz himself, the Freedom Center operates as a “shadow political universe.”Horowitz’s organization that gave influential White House adviser Stephen Miller his start — the two became connected shortly after the attacks on September 11, 2001 when Miller wrote to Horowitz accusing his school of a lack of patriotism. Their relationship offered Miller opportunities throughout college and as a post-grad Capitol Hill operative, when Horowitz introduced Miller to his soon-to-be employer Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)."also played a role in propelling former Breitbart executive and current Trump adviser Steve Bannon from banker-turned-filmmaker to the White House. It was at the Citizens United Film Festival hosted by Horowitz that Bannon got his start — and at a book signing at Bannon’s home in 2013 when he infamously told conservative thinker Ronald Radosh that he is a “Leninst” who wants “to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.”orowitz’s Freedom Center began publishing fake news articles about then-Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton as the 2016 presidential race went into full tilt in 2015. By then, the report noted, “the Freedom Center barely resembled the charity the IRS had approved for tax exemption,” and was at this point “openly involved in fighting a political war with the left.”“The center has a big stake in this administration.”

In the long run, green technology will make more money than their short sighted plan. It will be jobs (which translates into taxes and economy) and it means profits for companies supplying and using green energy.

Trump is the devil in disguise

He is not only destroying the United States of America, he is destroying the planet.

Why should Trump worry about that? He will not be around to see it anyways. He's 70 years old, he is out of shape, some says he has dementia, some says he has some type of STD that has affected him mentally.

Whatever it is, it has affected his stamina. He was not able to keep up with the other NATO world leaders when they took a walk to take a group picture.

Trump is the only person who had to ride in a Uber golf cart so he wouldn't look like he just finished a marathon sweating, moaning, huffing and puffing like Sarah Palin's daughter in her canvas tent.

The Vatican can make this point effectively since the church knew the earth was spherical from its inception, having no reason to think Aristotle wrong, even before they had the means to prove it.

The Catholic "flat earth" myth was invented by Andrew Dickson White in the 19th century as he helped manufacture the religion versus science myth. Agnostic Robert Ingersoll made up a quote which he attributed to Magellan in a similar effort at revisionist history. The Venerable Bede and other early scholars wrote the truth about a spherical earth.

And while you're finger pointing, Gryphen, look back at your country's history of Native American genocide and also slavery, which are more recent than the Catholic atrocities you fondly recall.
