Republican Congressman threatens that if this Russian probe continues they may have to reopen investigation in to Hillary's private server. I'm sorry, what?

Courtesy of Think Progress:

During a CNN interview Wednesday morning, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) issued a threat — if Democrats don’t move on from the enlarging scandal surrounding the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia, Republicans will have no choice but to further investigate the Clintons.

“If this continues — this immobilization of the presidency over these kind of things — it’s gonna force Congress to do an investigation, a complete and thorough investigation, and that means go back all the way to the 650,000 emails of Anthony Weiner and look at [former FBI Director James] Comey and his activities,” the House Judiciary Committee members said.

Pushed on the point by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota , King said that Comey and the special counsel investigating Trump are the real colluders.

“What I’m saying is this, that the Comey investigation — now him picking the special counsel on top of it — on its face, appears to be collusion.”

I am not sure that Steve "calves the size of cantaloupes" King understands what the word "collusion" means.

Boy he really threw all of the hot button talking points out there didn't he?

Anthony Wiener, emails, collusion, James Comey, Hillary Clinton, it's like a list of answers to a wingnut crossword puzzle put together by Alex Jones.

I can only imagine what Hillary's response would be to this threat but I imagine it would go something like this.

Then the Democrats get on the Repubs for wasting time and money on multiple investigations which failed to produce any evidence to use against Hillary? Just what is their problem and how many Do Overs do they think they get?

Hey, Don Jr. FINALLY gets his own @TIME Magazine cover! I wonder if daddy is happy now?

Time Magazine Puts ‘Red Handed’ Donald Trump Jr. On Cover

“Washington has a feeling that this storm could be a monster,” the cover story reads.

“Like a farmer forecasting the weather by the ache in his knee, Washington has a feeling that this storm could be a monster,” the cover story by David Von Drehle reads. “And the twinge that forecast the deluge was Donald Trump Jr. facing a camera and issuing what sounded a little like an apology. Which is an ominous sign in an Administration that means never having to say you’re sorry.”

The article adds that the entire 2016 presidential race “was a test of shifting standards” and discusses the White House’s ties to the Kremlin, accusations of obstruction of justice and more.

“It all adds up, in the words of a senior Administration official, to a “sh-tstorm” that no White House staffer even tries to deny,” the story reads.

“All of Washington has awakened to the fact that the Russia issue has spiraled beyond anyone’s control. There are too many investigations and too many targets―each with his own interests to protect and his own team of attorneys to protect them―and too many enemies created by Trump’s bull-in-a-china-shop style. It’s not a question anymore of putting them all in a box and shutting the lid. It’s only a question of how bad it will get.”

The most pressing question of our time might be: How bad is it?

So much for White House efforts to deny a Russia problem.

The Republicans answer to everything is "but Hillary!" " but Obama!". Come on guys. Your choice of a leader is a lying, treasonist narcissist who only cares about himself. You voted for him, now you got him. Investigating Hillary AGAIN isn't going to take the spotlight and stench off your President no matter how much you threaten. 2018 is going to be a day of reckoning on all of you.

Kushner adds ‘more than 100 names’ of foreign contacts he initially left out of required forms: report

Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner was required to disclose any contacts he had with foreign nationals as a precondition for getting a White House security clearance — but his initial disclosure reportedly omitted more than 100 different contacts.

In a New York Times report about the Trump family’s latest attempts to cope with the Russian scandal, sources reveal that Kushner has updated his foreign contacts disclosure list three separate times since first getting his security clearance — and has added “more than 100 names” to the list.

...Earlier reports have revealed that Kushner failed to disclose multiple foreign contacts to the FBI before obtaining his security clearance, although the Times’ report is the first to indicate that Kushner’s omissions go into the hundreds.

Several Democratic lawmakers have been demanding that Kushner have his security clearance revoked over his multiple disclosure failures, and the Trump White House this week refused to answer questions about whether Kushner’s security clearance is still operative.

And nobody trolls quite like six-term congressman Steve King of Iowa. His latest coup de troll came on Wednesday, during an appearance on CNN. King, a conservative who has agitated for tougher immigration laws, reaffirmed his longstanding support for President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico. No surprise there. What followed, however, was a masterful act of trolling, with King explaining how he would increase funds for that wall by $5 billion.

Steve King is another Republican who likes to get headlines and that's all. Why doesn't he get upset about the Trumpian Russian collusion? Now there's a serious crime.

  11. Was this the same interview where he said food stamps should be gutted to pay for trump's stupid border wall?

Every now and again, the other King (in New York I think) says something vaguely human.

This personification of the banality of evil? Never.

Donald Trump Jr. had another meeting with Kremlin representatives during the election

...All I have to do is point you to a Wall Street Journal article from March 2nd (link), which flat out states that Donald Trump Jr. attended a meeting in October with two individuals who were working with the Russian government. In this instance they were trying to alter the Syrian civil war in the Kremlin’s favor, a position which Donald Trump has adopted since he took office.

What’s remarkable is that, in the furor these past few days about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with the Kremlin to try to rig the election, it’s been largely forgotten that this was not the last time he ended up meeting with Kremlin reps during the course of the campaign. So when he admitted to Hannity this week that he did have ongoing contact with the Russian government after his treason meeting, it’s enough to make you wonder how much he communicated with the Kremlin in between his June meeting and his October meeting.

Even more bizarrely, the Wall Street Journal reported at the time that Donald Trump Jr. accepted $50,000 to attend the meeting. Yet the Trump family are (supposed) billionaires. This would be the equivalent of you or me attending a suspicious meeting, and then making it even more suspicious by accepting a $5 payment to show up. Either the Trump family is totally broke, or Donald Trump Jr. is somehow even stupider than we thought.

BINGO!!! You are right on both counts:

      1. Yes, the Trump family is damn near broke. Meanwhile, the Kushner family right now is scrambling to pay off a $1.2 billion loan on a building that's worth close to zero.

      2. Yes. Trump Jr. is stupider than we thought. In fact, the whole family is stupid.

By calling on Republicans to join them in protecting the 2018 election from Russian hacking Democrats have painted Republicans into a corner. Either they break with Trump and admit that Russia cyber attacks are a problem, or they stand with their president and betray their own country.

"President Donald Trump used an interview with a conservative news outlet friendly to his administration to push back against U.S. intelligence officials’ conclusion that Russia interfered in last year’s election to help him win, claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin actually favored his opponent Hillary Clinton.

“We are the most powerful country in the world and we are getting more and more powerful because I’m a big military person. As an example, if Hillary had won, our military would be decimated. Our energy would be much more expensive,” he said in an excerpt of the interview with evangelical leader Pat Robertson, which is set to air Thursday. “That’s what Putin doesn’t like about me. And that’s why I say, ‘Why would he want me?’ Because from day one I wanted a strong military; he doesn’t want to see that.”"

When Donald threatened the free press in our country, and now this guy, it seems like they are trying to throw things out there to block whatever it is they are trying to hide.
I still think the whole Republican party knew about the Russian thing. Just before the nomination when they all decided to go with Trump, they all got really excited. Someone I know came back from his Republican party meeting with Trump signs and the anti-Hillary slogan, and he seemed all pumped up.
I think history will show that the Republican party sold its soul to beat the opposing party. And that's when things got serious. Now the plot thickens like burning soup.

The Russians manipulating our voting machines cost her the election plus a massive sting by Trump and Republicans, all orchestrated by Putin. History will talk one day when others look back where shit went wrong because conservatives and christians went wrong because they couldn't control their brethren when it came to their sinful ways. There was this reverend on youtube named jeffers who said that Trump was more effective than Jesus. And revelations predicted that the preachers would go by the way of the devil. que sera.
