Donald Trump goes to West Virginia to mock Russia investigation on the same day we learn that Robert Mueller impaneled a Grand Jury.

Courtesy of NBC News:

More than eight months after winning the election, President Donald Trump on Thursday declared Hillary Clinton's defeat "the greatest loss in the history of American politics," while painting the Russia investigation as a "total fabrication" by Democrats to distract from their failure to win the White House and lack of message.

"The reason why Democrats only talk about the totally made-up Russia story is because they have no message, no agenda and no vision," Trump told a raucous crowd of supporters gathered for a campaign rally-style event in Huntington, West Virginia.

The president called probes into alleged collusion between his campaign and Russia during the 2016 election "demeaning" and "fake."

"Most people know there were no Russians in our campaign — there never were," Trump said. "We didn't win because of Russia. We won because of you, that I can tell you."

"Have you seen any Russians in West Virginia or Ohio or Pennsylvania?" Trump continued, listing states he won last year before quizzing the crowd: "Are there any Russians here tonight? Any Russians?"

Trump then fired up the crowd by throwing them some Hillary Clinton flavored red meat:

"What the prosecutors should be looking at are Hillary Clinton's 33,000 deleted emails," Trump said, prompting chants of "Lock her up! Lock her up!" from the crowd, a common occurrence during the 2016 campaign.

Democrats, he said, "can't beat us at the voting booths so they're trying to cheat you out of the future and the future that you want."

Apparently Trump went to West Virginia because these the most simple minded simpletons on the planet and he still has tons of support there.

In front of that sympathetic crowd Trump frames this as an "us against them" situation where his own Justice Department is going after him on behalf of the Democrats and everything being revealed in the press is manufactured to make him look bad.

It is essentially the rantings of a crazy person. But it is given power due to the fact that it is said in front of a crowd of stupid people.  And then broadcast into the homes of even more slack jawed morons.

However as I pointed out in the headline while Trump is inciting the short bus crowd, Robert Mueller is moving forward with an investigation that seems to be picking up speed everyday.

And now it appears that things are starting to come into focus:

Federal investigators exploring whether Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russian spies have seized on Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia as one of the most fertile avenues for moving their probe forward, according to people familiar with the investigation.

The web of financial ties could offer a more concrete path toward potential prosecution than the broader and murkier questions of collusion in the 2016 campaign, these sources said.

Rabid crowds of supporters don't mean squat when up against growing piles of evidence.

Donnie, are you tired of winning yet? Sorry, but try as I might, I just do not see any legitimate wins due in any part to YOU.

IMO you've won the title of WPE, Worst President Ever. Kinda like Palin's WGE, but a teeny, tiny step up.

O/T Sessions says he is going after "leakers" and threatens subpoenas. This is the crowd that could not find the light switches in the Capitol so their first meetings were in the dark!

Find leakers? Don't count on it! Long live the leakers, otherwise we the citizens would be the ones "in the dark".

When Trump, his entire corrupt Administration and greedy family is eventually brought down I look forward to seeing round the clock playbacks (on all channels except Faux) of his insane rants about "no Russians" and "fake news".

Hillary should just sit back, relax, smile and enjoy the unfolding karma.

I just finished reading the book 'Stasiland' by Anna Funder, Stories From Behind the Berlin Wall. I recommend everybody to read it. It paints a chilling picture of what happened in the former East Germany, GDR.
It is eerily similar to what is happening here in our country right now (not quite as bad YET, but we definitely are in the beginning of that era in Germany in the late 1950s/early 1960s till 1989.

"...Rabid crowds of supporters don't mean squat when up against growing piles of evidence."

The problem I see with that is simple. Those 'rabid crowds' are the same idiots who will raise holy hell if he is successfully impeached. I believe he is deliberately trying to set things up so there will be major riots and civil unrest and he thinks that will stop his being thrown out if impeached.

To make things even worse, It may be necessary to consider some form of martial law due to these 'rabid crowds' and since he actually believes he is well loved by the military the troops would put him back in office.

And yes, I DO believe he is that stupid! In fact, I believe there isn't an IQ number low enough to rate Humpty Trumpty.

He ignores the fact Hillary Clinton beat him in the majority vote! She has no need to respond to him and I like how President Obama and The Clintons are handling him! It probably drives him nuts!

His time is coming and it's more apparent each day. He will have to resign or be impeached is my prediction.

    2. Hillary Clinton has been investigated more times than many West Virginians have pairs of clean underwear. She and Bill have lived their lives under a microscope just so their political opponents could eke out some undeserved advantage. The gall of these empty-headed, snaggletooth mouth-breathers is astounding! I suggest they beware: crime is now & has been at an all-time low, but what you wish would befall on others might very well happen to you. Karma!

I don't know why I am surprised by the cheering crowd in WVA. I was wrong that people would catch on that Trump is a serial or pathological liar. That is one insane rant that Russian interference is a hoax and invented story to cover up the projection Dems have no plans or agenda. I swear his ignorant supporters must share like mentality of victimization to swallow the lies.

Having lived in West (by God!!!) Virginia for a number of years, I can testify that political loyalty is somewhat...shall we say, "fluid." Shelley's daddy, the infamous Arch Moore, could give Huey Long a run for his money.

Trump was in Huntington, which means he drew supporters from WV, KY and OH. You can't get any redder than this part of the state. Jim Justice is a snake, but he was very generous to everyone after last year's severe flooding, and people will remember that.

So Trump was definitely among his peeps down there.

...Over the next several weeks, three RNC aides — deputy chief data officer Liam O’Rourke, director of political data support Ashley Burns, and director of business intelligence Patrick Stewart — are expected to leave. The exits, confirmed by three RNC officials, have surprised the tight-knit world of Republican operatives and signaled a broader upheaval within the committee’s data department.

Any number of times as president he’s pledged to the American public that he and congressional Republicans are working “hard” or “tirelessly” to solve problems. With the Capitol and White House clearing out for some much-needed rest, let’s check in on what all of that hard, tireless work has accomplished.

It's the American people who "need a rest." I'm so tired of starting the day (the front page of the Wash. Post pops up first on the computer screen) with photos and videos of Trump - always enough to mess with my day.

When President Obama was in office, the major newspapers virtually ignored him. I got my information about what the president was doing from "theObamaDiary" website, not from the New York Times or the Washington Post. There has to be a happy medium - somewhere between total saturation about the bloviated current occupant of the Oval Office and the disregard shown to the previous occupant of that office by the media.

    He cheats

Trump’s golf game tells us an awful lot about Trump

...Then there is Trump golf. He breaks rules, exaggerates scores and ignores the game’s decorum. Sound familiar? He is, Sports Illustrated asserted, “easily the best golfer” ever to occupy the White House. Likewise, he is an enormously talented politician, with a genius for marketing. Yet in golf, as in life, he doesn’t leave it at that. He gilds the lily with dishonesty.

Trump is delusional about his popularity

...How long will Trump’s base stay with him? I don’t know, but clearly he’s worried. Even Rasmussen, the generally conservative survey that usually shows him as having more support than other pollsters detect, released a poll this week showing Trump’s approval below 40 percent for the first time. He makes laughable claims about having accomplished more than any other president in his first months because he knows his support will slowly leak away if he fails at his central promise, which is to get stuff done. Thus far he has been a failure.

"We objectively don't live there anymore," declared Schmidt.

He also warned Trump that "a reckoning is coming," reminding everyone that "the alternate reality the president is describing is colliding with reality."

"And in the real world it's not a hoax," he said. "It's a real investigation. That's a real grand jury that's impanelled."

  26. The best lies are the ones closest to the truth.

No, actual Russians weren't on the campaign. No one is saying they are.

This is a concept foreign to the knuckle draggers and double wide inhabitants of West Virginia and other Trumpland holdouts.

If Mueller dots all his i-s and crosses all his t-s and the impeachment follows the rule of law and is strictly legal, the military will not back Trump, they will back the law.

It's the Supreme Court we need to observe diligently. Neil Gorsucks could become a real problem.
