Don't mess with the Murkowski!

Oh yeah, you're going down.
Courtesy of The Hill:

The Senate blocked President Trump from being able to make recess appointments on Thursday as lawmakers leave Washington for their August break.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), doing wrap up for the entire Senate, locked in nine "pro-forma" sessions — brief meetings that normally last roughly a minute.

The move, which requires the agreement of every senator, means the Senate will be in session every three business days throughout the August recess.

As the article points out this is not a new tactic for the Senate, they have done this before.

However typically it is Senators from one party blocking the president from another party, NOT blocking one of their own.

What Lisa Murkowski is doing is straight up gangster, and since she apparently has the support of every single Senator clearly she is leading a revolt to stop Donald Trump in his tracks.

Our Senator sat down with CNN to explain why she was not intimidated by Donald Trump:

“You want to vote to do the right thing. And so worrying about the consequences, are you fearful of repercussion from your party? A tweet from the President? A backlash from your leadership? I don’t believe that we should be motivated or discouraged from taking the positions that are important to the people that we represent in our respective states,” Murkowski said.

As I pointed out before, Trump did NOT know who he was messing with when he tried to start some shit with Murkowski.

But I bet he knows now.

    Trump, The Dope

Trump had a busy bad-news day yesterday; he certainly was in the limelight, but the walls are closing in on him.

Here are a series of news tweets from yesterday that has stopped his own tweeting (for now).

Why the Scariest Nuclear Threat May Be Coming from Inside the White House

Donald Trump’s secretary of energy, Rick Perry, once campaigned to abolish the $30 billion agency that he now runs, which oversees everything from our nuclear arsenal to the electrical grid. The department’s budget is now on the chopping block. But does anyone in the White House really understand what the Department of Energy actually does? And what a horrible risk it would be to ignore its extraordinary, life-or-death responsibilities?

    The guardrails hold

A future trivia question and historical footnote, the spectacular 10-day flameout of Anthony Scaramucci qualifies as the most entertaining episode yet of the ongoing reality show that is the Trump presidency. (Working title: “The Pompadours of 1600 Pennsylvania.”) But even as the cocksure sycophant’s gobsmacking spectacle stole the show, something of real importance took place a bit lower on the radar.

At five separate junctures, the sinews of our democracy held against the careening recklessness of this presidency. Consequently, Donald Trump’s worst week proved a particularly fine hour for American democracy:

Trump relishes such a cat-and-mouse game and, by playing it so openly, reveals a deeply repellent vindictiveness in the service of a pathological need to display dominance.

    Dominance is his game.

The Russia investigation is getting serious — and President Trump is feeling the heat

When President Trump is feeling put-upon, he retreats to his happy place: standing before a crowd of enthusiastic supporters who will cheer wildly for him and allow him to feel as though it’s still the 2016 campaign. So last night he went to West Virginia so that he could feel the love and be able to dismiss the widening and deepening investigation as nothing more than a witch hunt. But if it’s a witch hunt, there are an awful lot of people around the president who just happen to be wearing pointy hats.

Let’s run down everything that we’ve learned just in the last day about where the Russia investigation is going:

White supremacists’ smear campaign against H.R. McMaster has officially begun

Internet trolls and right-wing conspiracy theorists have knives out for Trump's national security adviser.

That McMaster has incurred the wrath of such trolls for supposedly being part of a “deep state” anti-Trump movement, then, is unsurprising. If people like McCain and Priebus are targeted over mundane administrative and policy-making decisions, it’s safe to assume white supremacists sees McMaster’s staff purge as all-out war.

It's hard to imagine that Trump, who likes to be surrounded by posh gilded walls and furniture, enjoys spending time in hard-scrabble West Virginia. He's got to be feeling pretty desperate. Kinda makes my day.

‘We’re coming for you’: NRA promises to ‘fist’ the New York Times in absurd propaganda video

In today’s installment of “we can’t make this sh*t up,” the National Rifle Association released a new video Thursday featuring spokeswoman Dana Loesch threatening to “fist” the New York Times.

    Yep, fist.

“We the people have had it,” Loesch (presumably speaking for some people somewhere) says in the video. “We’ve had it with your narratives, your propaganda, your fakes news,” she continues, in a video created with the sole objective to push the NRA’s agenda.

“We’ve had it with your constant protection of Democrat overlords,” Loesch, who used to be a Democrat, adds. “Your refusal to accept any truth that upsets the fragile construct that you believe is real life. And we’ve had it with your pretentious assertion that you are in any way truth or fact-based journalism.”

“We’re going to fist the New York Times and find out just what ‘deep, rich’ means to this old hag,” she promises.

“In short, we’re coming for you,” Loesch concludes.

She is using Sarah Palin's sad attempt to sue the Times to work herself up and she can act like a bad ass that knows something.

May be she knows of more money setting up lunatics like Palin to sue media.

Cons have their juices flowing and they will be following the Gawker intention. They are banking on Palin for now. Who knows what they are plotting with that attempt?

Tangled web connects Russian oligarch money to GOP campaigns

The Dallas Morning News is reporting today that a Ukrainian-born, pro-Kremlin billionaire has funneled millions of dollars into the hands of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and a few other top Republicans.

If you’re wondering why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has continued to stand by a sinking Donald Trump even as the rest of the Republican Senate has increasingly begun trying to distance itself from Trump over the past weeks, the explanation may be simple: follow the money. The Dallas Morning News is now confirming a story which involves Mitch McConnell and a few other Republicans having been caught taking Russian money.

  21. The senators knew Murkowski and Collins were going to vote no on the deathwedon'tcare bill and they also knew the reasons and there were fine with that.

What they aren't fine with is that Trump tried to intimidate Murkowski using Zinke and that threats were made. That is a whole different thing.

They have closed ranks and are voting with their own. It could be them next.

Not to mention they are not happy about the Russian propaganda and Tillerson's refusal to do anything about it.

Nor are they happy with Trump's mumblings about firing Mueller nor his attacks on Jeff Sessions, a former senator.

Nope. This is a slap upside the head and a study in discipline. They are teaching Trump a lesson. He won't learn. Kelly might. But Kelly is a yes man. Trump is commander in chief and Kelly will take orders, not give them. And I doubt Trump would ask anyone for advice.

Trump is all the worthless males who comment on women's insecurities because all women have them and it's how to hurt them.

How you can recognize a weak pathetic man. When he mentions a women's even minimal surgical procedures or weight loss.

These men aren't happy or good.

It would be nice to think that Lisa could become part of a group of 'reasonable' Republican women. I still don't trust her, though, I remember her votes after McConnell fucked her over in 2010. This is the only issue where he and she appear to be divided but for all we know Lisa Murkowski might be playing out his strategy for 2018 like she has played along with him so many times before.
