How Donald Trump attempts uses Twitter to manipulate the press.

So accurate.

He also uses tactics like this:

President Donald Trump plans to address the nation on his strategy for the war in Afghanistan.

The White House says Trump will speak to the country on Monday at 9 p.m. EDT from Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia.

Trump and his national security team met Friday at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland to reach agreement on a strategy.

Smoke and mirrors my friends, smoke and mirrors.

Literally EVERYTHING that Trump tweets or says right now is to distract us from the Russian investigations or the shit storm that is happening within the White House right now.

Personally I am not that easily distracted.

No that's a second. Trump and his free pass illegal alien wife went there once overnight with Barron and Trump declared it a "dump" just like the White House because he could not charge us for rent like when he goes to Mar A Largo or Bedminster. If you can't shit on a golden throne it's just too much like the average people.

    4. If he's at Camp David, he's scared. He can be more easily protected at Camp David than his gold course. After last week, he must be fearful of assassination. Really afraid. Shitless afraid.

Protesters March To The Tune Of ‘Move Trump, Get Out The Way’

Ludacris approved of their version of one of his songs after the clashes in Charlottesville.

An estimated 2,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Atlanta on Saturday to peacefully protest the racism and hate on display the previous week in Charlottesville, Virginia. Demonstrators also expressed their frustrations at President Donald Trump, who inflamed tensions with comments that blamed “many sides” for the violence in Charlottesville and for saying that “very fine people” were among those attending the white supremacist rally there.

Saturday’s peaceful march from the downtown Atlanta area to the tomb of Martin Luther King Jr. included a unique chant directed to the president.

“Move Trump, get out the way,” protesters sang. ”Move Trump. Get out the way, Trump, get out the way.”

That’s a riff of the hit song “Move Bitch” by Ludacris.

...Thousands showed up in New Orleans in the French Quarter, marching in the afternoon heat. On the same day in Boston, anti-racism protesters overwhelmed “free speech” demonstrators who gathered in support of the so-called “alt-right” organizers. Boston police reported 33 arrests by Saturday evening among the thousands of protesters.

Desperate Donald Trump puts his few remaining chips down on Afghanistan gambit

As poker analogies go, Donald Trump is nearly out of chips. His approval rating is historically low. His political capital is zero. Most of his advisers are gone. He has no remaining agenda. His own party is now publicly distancing itself from him. His weird gambit with North Korea didn’t work. Mainstream America thinks he’s a racist. Tens of thousands of people are protesting against him and his shrinking base. And now he’s decided where he’s putting his few remaining chips.

Trump will be addressing the nation on national television on Monday night, the first time he’s ever done so. His speech will be focused on Afghanistan. It’s long been expected that his last political gasps would be war related, and now we’ve arrived.

Steve Bannon has begun actively seeking revenge, and Donald Trump can’t stop him

On the day he was fired, Steve Bannon played the media by giving two conflicting interviews to two different journalists. He told a mainstream media outlet that he was going to war for Trump, ensuring that cable news repeated it, so Trump would hear it and decide to play nice. But Bannon simultaneously told a conservative news outlet that the Trump presidency was over, thus ensuring that his own base got the message. And today Bannon began actively seeking his revenge.

By signaling to Trump through the mainstream media that he was on Trump’s side, Bannon managed to lure Trump into publicly praising him and Breitbart on Twitter yesterday. But today Bannon’s Breitbart launched a viciously hyperbolic attack on National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, essentially accusing him of being a terrorist sympathizer. It’s not shocking to see Bannon go after McMaster first, as he’s looking to settle the feud that had been brewing between the two of them within the White House for weeks. Anyone who’s been paying attention these past few days will have seen this attack coming. But if you’re Trump and you’re only watching cable news, you were probably caught off guard by it today.

And so now Trump can only sit back and watch as Breitbart, a site he just publicly and loudly endorsed, begins trying to pick off his top remaining advisers one by one. The kicker is that even if Trump wants to defend people like McMaster against the Breitbart attacks, he’ll be afraid to speak up, for fear Bannon will retaliate by aiming the Breitbart attacks directly at Trump himself.

Steve Bannon uses Breitbart to launch his first vicious attack on Donald Trump’s White House

In the forty-eight hours since Donald Trump fired White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, we’ve already seen Bannon return to the helm of his alt-racist publication Breitbart. We’ve also already seen Trump publicly kissing up to Bannon out of fear of retaliation. And now we’re seeing that it’s not going to do Trump one bit of good, as Bannon is already using Breitbart to try to get revenge on Donald Trump’s White House.

Not surprisingly, Bannon is using his initial Breitbart salvo to target the guy he was feuding with at the time of his firing.

    AFGHANISTAN .... TRUMP WALL?

What will Trump talk about tomorrow regarding Afghanistan?

My guess is he is going to reduce and eventually remove US troops presence in Afghanistan.

    WHY?

Trump still needs to fullfill at least one campaign promise and that is to build his wall.

What's the fastest way to come up with money to build his wall? It is to end the war in Afghanistan and use those funds to build his wall.

    THIS IS ABOUT TRUMP

Fort Myer is adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery, and is home to the 3rd Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard, the oldest infantry regiment in the US Army, and the unit who guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and provides burial details and other ceremonial services. He could give this speech at the White House. I hope Matt is does not allow Trump to use the troops or that hallowed ground as props for his speech. But I won't hold my breath

Declare victory and get out of Afghanistan; no more of our blood and treasury for Trump or any other warmonger.

The USSR, Great Britain, all the way back to Alexander the Great (and probably before that) have not been able to tame that country to what the invaders wanted. Let them keep their rocky desert, frozen mountains and backward social arrangements. They like it, let them keep it.

Another Navy ship has run into a merchant ship.

Ten sailors are missing. Do you think Trump will get off his ass and look into it or still hold his ego driven rally in Texas this week.

Will he tweet about it and say " Sailors missing, Sad!"

Do you think for once he could act like a leader? Na. He has a rally to go to people where he can bitch about "fake news" and puff himself up like a toad and throw his hand in the air.

Maybe he can say he has a commitee looking into it ya know the best one ever . Maybe Melania needs to do a nude photo shoot just for the Navy for inspiration so they can hang it next to their bunks it's the least she can do because she has no other job or cause.

If this asshole still does his ego driven rally this week with all that is going on what more do people need as a sign this President is a total fool driven by ego and quite frankly is a little crazy.

There should be major protests at this rally, he feels safe in Texas. Let that ass come to California or Boston . Let that ass show his face at the Vietnam wall, ya know the war he got out of.

To not cancel his ego driven rally this week due to real problems tell all real Patriots all they need to know about this charleton so called President.

You would think the Leader of the free world would have better things to do than to hold rally's, alas, apparently not.

Much to the chagrin off all the citizens not deemed morons we will once again be subjected to the cry of fake news and how hard he is really working by playing golf at Bedminster while we the tax payers put money in his pocket.

Meanwhile Melania is nowhere to be seen, admit it we almost forgot about her right except for comments on her when she is forced to make an apprearance.

Can you imagine Michelle Obama getting away with this solo act? Don't tell me what the Republicans stand for because it's apparently anything as long as your White.

The standards have been lowered so far with Trump it's like the Rebublicans are doing the Limbo with the office of the Presidency.

Don't tell me they would have accepted nude photos of Michelle Obama and defended it. Don't tell me they would of put of with Sasha and Malia Obama if of age having offices in the White House. Don't tell me they are not full of predjudise when it is blatantly obvious.

Trump released the Kracken after eight years of all the slime that was silent came out and found their hero and it is costing us plenty.

Democrats underestimated just how many there were sitting there seething after eight years of Fox News and Breitbart pounding on the negative this is the result.

They knew just how many stupid are out there and we needed to fight harder and not be so complacent at the voting booth.

    Never again!

Steve Bannon’s Breitbart is already questioning Donald Trump’s mental health

Well that escalated quickly. Donald Trump demonstrated just how afraid he was of Steve Bannon’s revenge when he spent yesterday tweeting platitudes about Bannon and his site Breitbart. This morning Bannon used Breitbart to harshly attack Trump’s National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, making clear that this divorce would be ugly. But now Breitbart is already going for the jugular, questioning Trump’s mental health.

That came in the form of a new article titled “CNN’s Stelter Questions Trump’s Mental Fitness — ‘Is He Suffering From Some Kind of Illness?’” Coming from Breitbart, one might expect the article to slam CNN for asking the question. But instead the article simply quotes Stelter’s on-air CNN segment at length, without offering any commentary or rebuttal of its own. In so doing, Breitbart is essentially using CNN as a prop for pushing the notion that Trump may have a mental illness.

It’s being done in once-removed fashion, and you won’t see it if you refuse to read between the lines, but it’s clearly there: Breitbart is questioning Donald Trump’s mental health. The dead giveaway is that 99% of the time, Breitbart is busy railing against networks like CNN for supposedly being “fake news” – yet in this instance, the Breitbart article didn’t demean or question CNN in any way. Considering that Breitbart is Bannon’s baby, and that he officially retook the reins the minute he was fired, there’s no way an article like this would be published on his site unless Bannon wanted it out there.

This comes just one day after Donald Trump had tweeted that Breitbart was real news and everyone else was fake news. Now Trump is stuck owning that, even as Breitbart pushes the premise that Trump might be mentally ill. Steve Bannon is wasting no time whatsoever in trying to turn Trump’s base against him.

    Steve Bannon Readies His Revenge

The war on Jared Kushner is about to go nuclear.

...“We have a duty to the country to be the vanguard of ‘The Movement,’” he told his staff, according to one person on the call. Bannon’s main targets are the West Wing’s coterie of New York Democrat “globalists”—Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and former Goldman Sachs president Gary Cohn—as well as the “hawks,” comprised of National Security Adviser H.R McMaster and his deputy, Dina Powell. “He wants to beat their ideas into submission,” Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow told me. “Steve has a lot of things up his sleeve.”

  19. George Lakoff is a professor of cognitive science and linguistics. His blog is really worth subscribing to.

    https://georgelakoff.com/2017/03/07/trumps-twitter-distraction/

"Pre-emptive Framing: He frames first. He creates a new presidential scandal – Obama’s wiretapping — an accusation without evidence, and with all evidence against it.

Deflection: He puts the onus on his squeaky-clean predecessor.

Diversion: The press bit and the diversion worked. It generated headlines questioning whether Obama, rather than Trump, had committed wrongdoing.
The diversion worked, at least temporarily.

Trial Balloon: Will the public accept it, or listen to a discussion of it long enough to distract the press and the public from the treason issue?"

(BTW he predicted that Karen Handel would win.)

    https://georgelakoff.com/2017/07/01/two-questions-about-trump-and-republicans-that-stump-progressives/

"Progressives are stumped. They are asking these questions over and over again on social media, TV, and radio:

    1) Why don’t Trump supporters turn against Trump even though he is doing things that hurt them? (like taking away their healthcare)

    2) Why do Republicans hate the Affordable Care Act, and why are they so transparently acting to give wealthy people a tax break by making healthcare unaffordable?

Here is the short answer: All politics is moral. Supporting Trump – and gutting public healthcare resources in order to provide tax cuts for the wealthy – fits perfectly within the strict conservative moral worldview, which is hierarchical in nature. Voters don’t vote their self-interest. They vote their values.

The longer answer requires a deeper explanation."

    https://georgelakoff.com/2017/08/01/the-president-is-the-nation-the-central-metaphor-trump-lives-by/

"Roger Cohen, on May 19, 2017, in a NY Times op-ed titled L’état, c’est Trump, pointed out ways in which Trump has acted as if he had absolute power, like a despot. True. But there is a lot more to say. When John Lengacher and I closely analyzed language coming out of the White House, it became clear that Trump has internalized and has been living by a central metaphor: THE PRESIDENT IS THE NATION."

Lakoff lays out clearly why this metaphor must be broken.

  20. Well, as long as Trump is dissolving all sorts of Advisory committees, I guess he thought he would just sneak this one by.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/federal-climate-change-committee-expires_us_5999c13be4b0e8cc855e3cec?section=us_politics

"President Donald Trump’s administration has dissolved a federal panel of scientists and other experts tasked with helping create and implement new policy based on the latest climate change research findings.

That decision, members of the 15-person committee told HuffPost on Sunday, does not bode well for the future of climate change preparation and prevention during Trump’s time in office.

A spokeswoman for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which established the panel in 2015, confirmed Sunday that the Department of Commerce would not renew the charter for the Sustained National Climate Assessment’s Federal Advisory Committee.

“Per the terms of the charter, the [committee] expired on August 20, 2017,” the emailed statement read. ”The Department of Commerce and NOAA appreciate the efforts of the Committee and offer sincere thanks to each of the Committee members for their service.”"

"The last NCA report, released in 2014, made those implications for U.S. residents clear, and many of the threats it predicted ― more triple-digit temperatures, increased precipitation catastrophes and the failing of dated infrastructure ― have already begun to emerge.

Burkett, for one, hopes the work of committee may continue in an unofficial capacity.

“The decision not to renew the charter seriously jeopardizes the potential for the NCA to serve our communities,” she said. “But committee members are undeterred ― and I suspect there will be more from us in our individual capacities.”"

Guess it's a good thing scientists leaked the draft of that other report.
