New poll shows Donald Trump's approval rating as even lower than the last poll, but probably better than the next poll.

I don't do numbers, is that bad?
Courtesy of Gallup:

President Donald Trump's job approval rating in Gallup Daily tracking is at 34% for the three-day period from Friday through Sunday -- by one point the lowest of his administration so far.

It is difficult to pinpoint the precise cause of the new low rating, but the changes were apparent on Friday, with his day-by-day ratings near 34% across Saturday and Sunday as well. Trump has consistently been in the news over the past week, including the continued focus on North Korea, even while taking a working vacation at one of his golf properties in New Jersey. The events in Charlottesville, Virginia, that resulted in the deaths of a 32-year-old woman and two Virginia State Police officers dominated news coverage on Saturday and Sunday. Trump's prior three-day low reading was 35%, registered March 26-28.

From a broader perspective, Trump's rating of 36% for the week ending Aug. 13 was also by one point his lowest on a weekly basis. The president has talked in recent days about doing well with his "base," but Republicans' latest weekly approval rating of 79% was the lowest from his own partisans so far, dropping from the previous week's 82%. Democrats gave Trump a 7% job approval rating last week, while the reading for independents was at 29%. This is the first time independents' weekly approval rating for Trump has dropped below 30%.

If someone were selling stock options on Donald Trump right now you could buy about a dozen shares with whatever change you could find under your sofa cushions.

Gallup goes on to say that Trump's approval ratings are not the lowest in presidential history, but since this is only a little way into his first term I think we know that they will be breaking all records in the very near future.

    Trump is a terrible businessman.

If he was good, he would be selling "Trump Tiki Torches" at his website.

The percentage of people who still approve of him in subsequent polls following his defense of alt-right groups yesterday will give you the percentage of racists who think just like him in the US. It should be cause for concern.

Agreed. Though, each poll is only a sampling, not an absolute. Depending WHEN and where they do the poll, it might be quite an eye opener.

Your caption is perfect with that image. On a day where I'm feeling overwhelmed and sick over all that's going on, that made me smile. So thank you.

Also, is it me, or is his hair looking really bad lately? Can we hope that the stress is getting to him and he's losing some hair? I know that's shallow, but this fuckhead would lose more sleep over that than anything going on in this country.

No! Impeach, impeach, impeach him - the majority Republicans in the U.S. Congress!

Trump's bringing their party down and they are going to lose seats in their next election cycle.

    2. Are they?

They've won every special election since Trump took the oath.

He endorsed Strange and he pulled ahead enough in Alabama on TUESDAY to place second and make the run-offs.

So apparently Trump is NOT bringing his party down.

The mother of Charlottesville crash victim Heather Heyer thanked President Trump Monday for finally condemning the violence that led to her daughter’s death. “Thank you, President Trump, for those words of comfort and for denouncing those who promote violence and hatred. My condolences, also, to the grieving families of the two state troopers and quick recovery to those injured,” Heyer’s mom, Susan Bro, wrote in a statement, according to NBC.

Heyer's mom is such a class act. No wonder her daughter became who she was. Heather's death hit me hard. I have a 32 year old daughter who, actually, looks a lot like Heather. Seeing her picture the first time made my heart stop for an instant. I really don't think I could have the grace and be as even keeled as Susan Bro if this had been my daughter. I admire her greatly1

But he is using her Mother's statement to support himself.

The Mother should have kept quiet.

  10. This excrement-filled pig pond runoff spittoon is single-handedly fomenting race-based hate, incubating bigotry, fertilizing (with cartloads of manure) racial animus, and annihilating the prestige and purpose of the Office of the President of the United States. He must be removed with as much haste and legality as possible. Prison awaits him with outstretched arms. It is no less than he deserves.

The African-Americans, Jews, Muslims, Hispanics, and LGBTQ communities who have always lived under threat of violence now must cope with heightened stress and anxiety because the kkk, neo-nazis, and white supremacists feel empowered, emboldened, and supported. We have long known that Trump and Sessions are racists to their core based on their past behavior and public speech. The past is prologue. Fred Trump was arrested at a kkk rally years ago. Yesterday, Donald Trump all but donned a white hood and robe and ignited a cross.

This is a living nightmare, and we must all wake up! Then stay WOKE.

Every white person in America must search his heart, examine his actions and speech, and determine on which side of the river of history he stands. Is he on the side with the kkk, with Adolph Hitler, with Goebbels, with whip-lashing slave owners, with Bull Conner, with axe-wielding Lester Maddox, with David Duke, with Donald John Trump?
At this moment in time, in this crucible, in this grand experiment in DEMOCRACY, each American HAS TO decide if she loves one and hates the other. You cannot be a fascist AND love democracy. You cannot be a kowardly klown of the kkk AND love all men and women as equals. You cannot be a Nazi AND love liberty and justice for ALL. You cannot be a confederate apologist AND love civil rights and the Bill of Rights. You cannot claim to be a religious person of any faith at all AND hate other human beings who are endowed with the same unalienable rights as you. You cannot straddle this fence. Do you stand against hate or bow down to bigots? Do you stand against racism or do you kneel to the kkk? Do you stand for liberty or do you surrender to Nazis?

We must stand against this infestation and remove Trump from office. Then, we must make illegal and subsequently ban public proponents of hate: Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones. Rupert Murdoch must be stripped of his American citizenship and deported. Then every vestige of fascism must be uprooted: ALEC, the Koch brothers, the Mercers, the Walton's, open carry (which are de facto for whites only).

  14. Polls are usually a few days behind. So you won't see the full extent of his weekend's debacle until today and to the end of the week. So they might go lower.

Now, I seem to recall reading somewhere that 35% was the tipping point. That approvals lower than that and the Republican party might start considering cutting him loose. Especially if it appears he is going to hurt them in the 2018 elections.

Now, Trump endorsed Strange in Alabama and Strange came up in the polls to place second in Tuesday's election so now he's made the run-off. If he wins the run-off, then the endorsement by Trump still sways voters and the Republicans will keep him, no matter how DEPLORABLE he becomes.

Every special election since Trump was elected the Republican has WON.

So when do the Democrats start winning from the Trump negative backlash? When will there be a backlash?

    Anyone?

    Bueller?
