Over half of Republicans polled said they would support postponing the 2020 election if Donald Trump proposed it.

Courtesy of WaPo:

After a series of initial questions, respondents were asked whether Trump won the popular vote, whether millions of illegal immigrants voted, and how often voter fraud occurs. These questions evoke arguments frequently made by Trump and others about the integrity of the 2016 election.

Then the survey asked two questions about postponing the 2020 election.

If Donald Trump were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote, would you support or oppose postponing the election?

What if both Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote? Would you support or oppose postponing the election?

Nearly half of Republicans (47 percent) believe that Trump won the popular vote.

Moreover, 52 percent said that they would support postponing the 2020 election, and 56 percent said they would do so if both Trump and Republicans in Congress were behind this.

Hey, does anybody remember when the Right Wing was having a conniption fit because they thought President Obama was going to declare martial law and postpone the 2016 election?

Boy, were they outraged by that!

But some how if the Orange Fuhrer wanted to do the same, they are perfectly cool with that.

Fortunately for the country the Democrats are most assuredly NOT cool with that, so this is never going to happen.

Still, interesting to know how the knuckle draggers think.

    Not LEGALLY, anyway.

I wouldn't call it "thinking". It's more like absorbing what their master says.

  3. The simple fact that they think that way is disturbing in itself: they have become utter fascists.

We the people demand a new 2016 election. We the people did not elect trump, he knows it, we know it, "they" know it and it must be corrected and fixed today. So get the fake lying criminal imposters out today and start the 2016/17 election process minus crooks, liars, fakes, frauds and riggers. There is no other solution or remedy but for trump and his staff to resign immediately. The USA Military and previous administration must act until our new USA President is elected lawfully in emergency.

Martial Law in the United States
    https://offgridsurvival.com/martiallaw-unitedstates/

Under a declaration of martial law, Constitutional freedoms and liberties are suspended, and civilians are no longer entitled to their civil rights. It basically allows a tyrannical politician, to shred the Constitution and impose its will through military force.

By my rough estimate, there are about 55 million enrolled Republicans in the U.S. Half of them would be about 28 million....out of a population of 320 million. So less than 10% of the U.S. population is in favor of this.
Of course, that doesn't mean that those with the power to enforce their will won't do it, even if they're in the minority.
Luckily, the GOP are attacking each other so maybe they couldn't put together a winning coalition.
btw -- and I know this is old-fashioned -- but a person enrolls in a political party, but registers to vote. There is no such thing as a registered Republican or Democrat.
But no one pays attention to this nicety anymore.

None of the rest of us have even heard any mention of the insane idea. I say "NO" to keeping Trump in office one second longer than absolutely necessary. Can he leave tomorrow - and take the rest of the traitorous GOP with him?

Trump could have cared so much more about Health Care, even demolishing ACA. He cares about the rhetoric and the bully of North Korea. He acts cool about Muellar, Manafort is a nice guy, FBI was mean. Pay no attention to his Russia mess now, he's distanced himself from that one. Even the failed NYT has taken a back seat.

The USA needs their leader and his face off with the North Korean leader.

Republicans must be fired. ASAP! Most are useless.

Considering that only 28% of eligible voters actually did their civic duty, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult for the fascists to declare martial law and make it happen.

Well, it may be time to sharpen up my weapons skills.

Numbers are in the eye of the beholder. Remember that Trump had more people than anyone else in history at his inauguration.

Isn't this the same exact think they were freaking out about when Obama was about to leave? That he would declare martial law and stay on past his term? IOKIYAR I guess.

The world can be a scary place and the guns and the bibles only allay conservative's fears so much. They need an authority type they trust (apparently someone like an absolute dictator), to tell them everything is okay. They are too limited to understand what they are asking for. Conservatives are the most frightened folks out there. They are the true 'snowflakes'. They fear change and change is the one thing that is constant.

  12. All Trump has to do is keep stirring the North Korea pot, then incite an attack before the elections. Then he declares Martial law and postpones them. Indefinitely.

This has already been proposed. He can't win an outright election so the only recourse is to not have one. After a few election cycles, his Deplorables will be used to it. Then when he dies.....Jared, Ivanka or even Fredo steps in and declares themselves president. Hey, he might even make one of them his VP by that point so it would be acceptable to his shit for brains base.

  13. To vote for this lunacy they'd have to climb down from their trees. Not very likely.
