Donald Trump wants a huge military parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to show up the French.

Courtesy of WaPo:

Who doesn’t love a parade? To a city that already offers many, President Donald Trump wants to add one that showcases U.S. military might.

It would take place on July 4 in Washington with, as Trump envisions it, tanks and planes rolling down and streaking above Pennsylvania Avenue.

Trump talked up the idea Monday as he sat down for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, who hosted the president and first lady Melania Trump for France’s military parade in the center of Paris on Bastille Day in July. Trump said the two-hour procession was a “tremendous thing for France and for the spirit of France” and suggested he wants the same for Americans.

In typical Trump fashion, the president said he wants the parade to be bigger and better than the one he saw in France.

“It was one of the greatest parades I have ever seen,” Trump said. “It was two hours on the button, and was military might, and I think a tremendous thing for France and the spirit of France.”

“And to a large extent, because of what I witnessed, we may do something like that on July 4th in Washington, down Pennsylvania Avenue,” Trump said. “We’re going to have to try and top it.”

You may remember that Trump actually wanted a military style parade for his inauguration:

“They were legit thinking Red Square/North Korea-style parade,” the source said, referring to massive military parades in Moscow and Pyongyang, typically seen as an aggressive display of muscle-flexing.

That plan was discouraged because Pennsylvania Avenue is not built to support tanks and huge military vehicles. I somehow doubt that the street has been reinforced since that date.

At this point I don't even think that Donald Trump has a tiny penis.

I think he has an inny where his manhood is supposed to be.

By the way this was Chief of Staff John Kelly's reaction as Trump addressed the UN for the very first time today.

Yeah, I don't think Kelly is going to be able to hang in there much longer.

92 comments:

  1. Kelly knew exactly what he was getting into when he accepted the job. No sympathy.

I was hoping he might be able to restrain the Orange Anus but I guess you can't just plug up a shit-cannon. It's going to spew no matter what.

He is such an embarrassment to the nation. I wish they could just lock him in a room with a TV and block his twitter account. As long as they are isolating him from the negative, why not go whole hog and isolate us from him? Create some giant fantasy world for him to live in. Invoke the 25th. As Bill Maher puts it, Pence is a "survivable event".

But likely Trump will not be.

Let Baby Donald Have His Parade

....For his reflexive critics, Trump’s plans reflect anew his authoritarian instincts. He lusts for an army to line up like tribute bearers and honor him as if he’s the Politburo chairman or a modern Il Duce. While that might be true, Trump’s idea draws on traditions that can be found in nearly every civilization, from the ancient Egyptians, Chinese and Romans to—speeding up the timeline—the modern North Koreans. In Rome, conquering commanders paraded through the streets leading their returning army, prisoners and spoils of war. Called “triumphs,” these propaganda pageants celebrated Rome’s military superiority and became so potent over time that only emperors were allowed the honor.

‘Perilous for the President’: Fox’s Napolitano explains why new developments in Mueller probe are ‘very bad’ for Trump

...“It’s perilous for the President if [Paul] Manafort is indicted because the standard M.O. of federal prosecutors when they’re after a so-called big fish is to indict people in the circle of the person, even on unrelated matters,” former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano explained to Shepard Smith

“They will be holding this sword over his head and will use it as an instrument with which to try and flip him to becoming one of their own witnesses against the president and they have other potential targets as well,” Judge Napolitano predicted.

    “Other targets?” Smith followed-up.

“Jared Kushner and his real estate dealings in New Jersey are under heavy scrutiny. General Mike Flynn is also under heavy scrutiny as well,” Judge Napolitano elaborated.

Judge Napolitano zeroed in on the fact the FBI picked the lock of Manafort’s door during a dawn raid with a no-knock search warrant.

No, The President Has Not Been Vindicated

...So if CNN’s report last night is accurate, the Government was able to convince federal judges on at least two occasions (and likely more, assuming renewal applications were required) that Manafort was knowingly engaging in clandestine intelligence activities at the behest of a foreign power. The Government allegedly was able to demonstrate that to be true as far back as 2014, long before the president launched his presidential campaign, let alone hired Manafort as his campaign chairman. That is, on its own, a serious revelation and speaks poorly of the president’s general vetting of Manafort (whose foreign business and political connections were publicly known) prior to hiring him.

Getting back to the issue at hand, though, the existence of these alleged FISA warrants targeting Manafort still have nothing to do with what the president talked about in his March 4th Twitter rant. In the original posts, he specifically claimed that former President Obama had his “wires tapped” in Trump Tower, particularly his “phones in October”.

World leaders skip out on Trump to avoid the embarrassment

Leaders of some of the world’s most influential – or controversial – countries skipped Donald Trump’s debut at the United Nations rather than face the prospect of being caught up in an embarrassing controversy by the unpredictable U.S. president.

The list of state leaders missing the international event is long and growing. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are two of the highest profile absences. But there are many whose faces were noticeably absent during Trump’s aggressive speech Tuesday on confronting North Korea, terrorism and communism, including Germany’s Angela Merkel, England’s Theresa May, Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro and Mexico’s Enrique Peña Nieto.

Diplomats say they’ve learned it can be risky to share the spotlight with Trump, who can turn even the most well-intentioned exchange into an international spectacle, such as his notorious call with the Australian prime minister about refugees or the dressing down of NATO leaders at the unveiling of a new headquarters.

“Even meetings that should be a good meeting can veer off into bizarre directions,” said a former U.S. official in contact with the diplomatic community.

Trump using RNC money to pay legal fees in Russia probe

President Trump is reportedly using money from the Republican National Committee (RNC) and his reelection campaign to pay some of the legal costs surrounding the federal probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Two payments totaling $231,250 have already been made and will be disclosed on federal election forms due on Wednesday, the RNC confirmed to The Hill. Reuters reported the payments first earlier on Tuesday.

Trump has also used money from his campaign coffers for lawyer costs associated with the Russia investigation being run by former FBI director Robert Mueller, the Reuters report said.

    PRESIDENT TRUMP CHEERLEADER-IN-CHIEF

"BEING A GREAT PRESIDENT HAS TO DO WITH A LOT OF THINGS, BUT ONE OF THEM IS BEING A GREAT CHEERLEADER...."
    -Donald J. Trump

    Washington Post:
.... “Being a great president has to do with a lot of things, but one of them is being a great cheerleader for the country,” Trump said in the January interview. “And we’re going to show the people as we build up our military, we’re going to display our military.”

“That military may come marching down Pennsylvania Avenue. That military may be flying over New York City and Washington, D.C., for parades. I mean, we’re going to be showing our military,” he added.

Although Trump is deeply unpopular in France, he was invited for the 100th Bastille Day ceremony in Paris by Macron in an effort to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and their new leaders. The lengthy parade seemed to thrill the president, who has long held a fascination with military force.“

I think we're looking forward to doing that,” Trump said. “I'm speaking with General Kelly and with all of the people involved, and we'll see if we can do it this year,” he added, referring to Chief of Staff John F. Kelly.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to requests for comment about plans to hold such a parade.

Seb Gorka Joins Pro-Trump Group Founded by Pizzagate Truthers and a Seth Rich Conspiracy Theorist

...The controversial former White House adviser has officially signed on with a new pro-Trump super PAC founded and run by people who have promoted conspiracy theories about the 2016 murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich and outlandish falsehoods regarding a Democratic Party child-rape ring known in the right-wing fever swamps as “Pizzagate.”

In joining the group, dubbed the MAGA Coalition, Gorka has dramatically elevated its profile. But that hasn’t led its members to stop dabbling in urban myths and legends. Reached for comment on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the MAGA Coalition defended its leaders’ efforts to “raise questions” about both human trafficking rings run out of D.C. pizza shops and a murder they deemed mysterious even as police insist it was the result of a botched robbery.

The MAGA Coalition was created to promote Trump’s agenda and “compete against globalist corporatist interests,” according to the group. It is headed by Adam Gingrich—no relation to Newt—who worked on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign in Pennsylvania. Gorka joined the group as a “senior adviser,” Axios reported on Tuesday, not long after his unceremonious ouster from the Trump White House last month.

Of course Kelly "won't be able to hang in there much longer" because this administration have proven again and again that they don't care who "they" send in to muzzle them, they simply won't be muzzled.

This thing is going to have to play itself out however it does because it seems to be a train that cannot be stopped, even when they send in the military guy to try to stop it.

A few French-owned Caribbean islands were decimated in the hurricanes as well, yet they will most certainly have their Bastille Day military parade as per usual next July 14. The world goes on, even in the face of disasters.

Is that Melania's resting bitch face? Our First Lady Mannequin is looking like one tough cookie! Maybe she hates her husband or maybe she hates to have to pretend she likes him, either way all we hear about is how she is dressed and how "lovely" she is.You know why? It's because she has no agenda of her own. Here she is in a position with her looks and position to fight for a cause and she has none. You know why? because she barely speaks English and all she has ever been is arm candy to a fat slime ball, she chose it and here she is just a prop.

Maybe she could dress up as the Statue Of Liberty for Trump's parade sort of like Cleopatra entering Rome while Trump cheers. Is that suit supposed to be her "Take me seriously" outfit? If she has one more facelift her eyes may turn to a mere slit. First Lady is an uneducated, nude model. It makes me proud as a woman! Snark.

She is an embarrassment. But, I guess parading her at these events may distract other world leaders from Drumpfs words as they can fantasize over her nude photos instead of paying attention to him.
It is pathetic for me as an educated and pretty woman to think that another woman sells out for caviar cream and gold toilets. Truly, she is a waste in my opinion. She knows it, too. does she look happy lol?

I remember after the first Gulf War there was an event on the Mall that showcased military equipment like tanks, fighter jets and helicopters to honor the victory. At the time I thought it was cool, I'd never seen a fighter jet up close before. There wasn't a parade that I recall, but to be honest, a military parade down Pennsylvania Avenue eeems a little Russian to me.

Once again, DJT bombasts to deflect attention. Good luck with that. The train has left the station.

Think of the money wasted on such an event.
I hate what we have become. Not just in relation to this, but in most aspects as well.
And don't worry, I plan to get the fuck out soon, so no need to comment that if I hate it I should leave. Already in the works.
