Five former presidents band together to help raise money for Puerto Rico. Because somebody has to do something.

Courtesy of WSVN:

All five living former presidents are joining forces on a fundraising campaign to help with hurricane recovery for the U.S., Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama have launched the One America Appeal campaign, allowing donors to help with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

Organizers say a special restricted account has been established through the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation to collect and quickly distribute donations. Officials say “100 cents out of every dollar” donated will help hurricane victims.

I can only imagine what the conversations between these former presidents must be like.

I would think there would be a lot of shaking their heads in disbelief and real concern for the future of the country.

They have been doing this already for the last few weeks - for Hurricane Irma and Harvey, too!
He simply does not care. Remember, he pledged some money (don't remember how much, but it was a paltry amount) for Hurricane Harvey - and did NOT pay up!

O/T Just seen Steve Scalise return back to the House of Rep, I don't agree with his politics but I'm glad he made a full recovery. I would love to know would he fall in line with his fellow Republicans and take away Health Care from millions of Americans.

‘We Were Destroyed’: Ricky Martin Goes On ‘Ellen’ To Ask For Help For Puerto Rico
“As a Puerto Rican, as the American that I am, I’m here to ask for your help.”

Hurricane Maria has left Puerto Rico in dire need of assistance and Ricky Martin is trying to recruit more people to help.

The native Puerto Rican made a surprise appearance on “Ellen” Wednesday to promote nothing other than how we can all help Puerto Rico after the devastation they’ve endured.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am from Puerto Rico and right now Puerto Rico is suffering,” Martin said. “We were destroyed by a hurricane and it’s been very difficult right now. There is no water, there is no electricity, there is no food. There is no medicine. There is no diesel for the generators that will make the hospital work. People are dying. So, as a Puerto Rican, as the American that I am, I’m here to ask for your help.”

Martin goes on to say that he hadn’t talked to his brother for five days at one point after the storm and that his father is currently very sick, but can’t get off the island due to the current status of the airports.

    “It’s very scary,” he said.

Royal Caribbean Cancels Cruise, Sends Ship On Mission To Help Puerto Rico

The ship will bring supplies to hurricane-ravaged islands and carry back evacuees.

Royal Caribbean announced Wednesday that it will cancel its Adventure of the Seas cruise, which was scheduled to depart from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Sept. 30 and sail to various islands in the Caribbean, to free up the cruise liner to dock in ports in San Juan and on the U.S. Virgin Islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix to aid in relief efforts.

The ship will bring donated supplies to each port and bring evacuees from the islands to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, ahead of ship’s next scheduled cruise on Oct. 6.

The Head Patient of the Global mental ward is in charge temporally due to misinformation, disinformation, fake information, lack of information, hacked information and just plain liars. Yep. Until President Hillary Rodham Clinton is sworn in to office we are without a President of the USA. So the previous 5 must step in and lead our nation.

The Time Donald Trump Turned Away in Disgust While a Man Was Bleeding to Death in Front of Him

The most shocking revelation from a recently unearthed trove of interviews between radio host Howard Stern and Donald Trump.

...“So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died. And you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my god, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away,” said Trump. “I couldn’t, you know, he was right in front of me and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him… he’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible. You know, beautiful marble floor, didn’t look like it. It changed color. Became very red. And you have this poor guy, eighty years old, laying on the floor unconscious, and all the rich people are turning away. ‘Oh my god! This is terrible! This is disgusting!’ and you know, they’re turning away. Nobody wants to help the guy. His wife is screaming—she’s sitting right next to him, and she’s screaming.”

    2. Our U.S. Military could easily mobilize to deliver these supplies to outlying villages, even if roads are out. Instead the supplies are sitting on the docks in refrigerated containers.

Poor Donnie reaped the rewards of the FEMA plans Obama put in place, but when it came to Puerto Rico it was on him and he failed miserably. What a LOSER.

Trump administration is gouging hurricane evacuees trying to escape Puerto Rico

The stunning regulation comes at the same time that Trump Cabinet members have exposed for flying around the country in luxury private jets — complete with upright leather seats and walk-in kitchens — and making taxpayers pick up the massive tabs.

Hurricane victims certainly aren’t receiving that kind of pampered treatment. Instead, they’ll being stiffed with bill.

“The Trump administration is making U.S. citizens pay ‘full fare’ to be evacuated from hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico,” according to a Marketplace report. “What’s worse, the U.S. government, in accordance with a long-standing but discretionary policy, will hold the evacuees’ passports as collateral until it gets its money.”

That discretionary State Department rule sill has not been waived, more than one week after Hurricane Maria obliterated the island.

The administration is demanding is that if a evacuee is flown off the island with help of the government, be it a charter or military flight, the refugee must pay the equivalent of “the price of the last commercial one-way, full-fare (not discounted) economy ticket prior to the crisis.”

So even if a evacuee previously purchased a discount ticket for a flight that got canceled, and then received government transportation, the evacuee would still have to pay the higher “full-fare” price.

The evacuee first signs a promissory note before being flown off the island. “And that promissory note obligates an evacuated person to repay the cost of the transportation to the U.S. government” according to a State Department website. If there’s an issue with the payment, the government retains the passport.

“Upon evacuation, a Department of State official must limit an evacuee’s passport. In order to obtain a new passport, an evacuee must arrange payment as agreed upon via the promissory note,” the website reads.

The optics border on the obscene.

The first qualification required to join the President's Club is you cannot be a racist.

The second qualification is you cannot be a traitor and abandon the United States of America and collude with the Russians.

The third qualification is you cannot step on the rights of the American people.

There's more qualifications but this is enough to keep Trump out of the club.
